I'm curious how people have found their new Samsung DU7700 series TV.

My experience (it was delivered this morning btw):
- Background: We've upgraded from a 70" 1080p60 digital projector. So big change to a 75" 4k tv.
- Setup: Great. Clear instructions and it's really light, so easy to move. Remote is great, love the simplicity, but no mouse/pointer is a shame.
- Picture: Great. 4k HDR content is genuinely impressive. Picture pops. 4k upscaling works suprisingly well. Brightness during the day is okay, but there's glare. Viewing angles are fine, thought they'd be worse.
- Audio: Good. Speakers are average but the 'Amplify Mode' make's them a lot better. We're not getting a soundbar.
- Connections: Great. Lack of physical HDMI and USB is fine, we stream everything. Multi-Audio is great having two Bluetooth headsets working at once. Smart View for mobile screen sharing works well. But Windows casting just flat out hasn't worked yet.
- Operating System: Mixed. It's a good menu system but it's locked down. Can't customise, so a lot of bloat and ads.
- Performance: Okay to bad. Tv can become completely unresponsive. Some menus freeze after a while and it's like there's not enough system resources. It's already a bit painful to use.
- Other: Free TV channels are surprisingly good, a lot of options. Native Stremio app, win.
Overall, the deal price for quality is awesome. Very happy with the purchase. I just hope they can optimise the operating system, sluggish as.
Last random thing, don't use a + (plus) in your email for a Samsung account. Not sure why they allow it, but it caused so many headaches. TV would sign in and out, almost any action would sign in and out. Then tv would become unresponsive.
Entry level TV but nothing wrong with that if it's what you're looking for. Slap on a Fire Stick or a CCwGTV / Google TV Streamer and it'll make the overall experience much better.
