  • Any good deal for iPhone 16 pro (outright phone)?

    • +1

      THIS IS IT

      • +5

This is a pro max mate

        • Costco does has pro cheaper than Apple as well.

But I wonder would there be black friday deals later?

  • normal 16 is $1349 at costco https://www.costco.com.au/Electronics/Mobile-Phones/iPhone-1…
    price beat at officeworks? $1281

    • Thought OW don’t match Costco?

      • +1

My local OW (VIC 3032) definitely does price beat with Costco.

        • The Maribyrnong one?

          • +2

@nightelves: Yes mate, the Maribyrnong one.
Done it few times with different staffs, no trouble at all.
Just nicely ask them to double check with other staffs if they say no.

    • I think it depends. Pricebeat can happen if they have stock available so might depend on if they sell out quick

  • +2

    Costco in Adelaide sold out…

Wife and I have iPhone SE 2nd gen I think and probably will stick to iPhones. Maybe buy ourselves two of these for ourselves for Xmas.

Apart from price what is the big differences between the iPhone 16 standard and pro max.
I don’t really want to pay over $2000 for a phone it’s mental.
Even the standard iPhone 16 at $1349 is a lot lol.

We could buy older phones than iPhone 16 but maybe not worth it?
With prime sales coming and Black Friday etc etc will there be better deals to come.

    • Not until Jan I think

You can try iPhone 14 Plus 128GB which is similar screen size to max. Currently Costco have it on offer for $999. You can price beat it at OW if you can find the stock.

    • Definitely on the older iPhones, but the 16's I highly doubt they would go on sale. A quick search on ozb alone you can see historically the latest generation iPhones don't participate on seasonal sales. (I'm only talking about buying them outright)

    • -1

not trying to be mean, if you are asking that kinda question, i think a 14 or 15 will suit you more than fine.

  • -1

Painful to watch. Good luck to you mob.

    • The who what now?

    • If you want the best, you gotta pay ;)

laughs on a 28 degrees angle

    • +1

      How so ?

  • Which store ?

  • +1

you know the 15 pro max will do the same thing

    • Yeh but size matters!!

      • That’s what she says

        • Right? 6.7” or 6.9” - depends on the experience she’s after.

  • I got the 16 pink. Can’t stand pro colors

  • +1

$2000 is a good price for something high quality that people use every day. Over a 3 - 4 year period it works out great value.

    • +2

Maybe. But when you compare it to say the Alcatel 1 for $5 at Woolies, makes you really stop and think before buying a $2,000 phone: is it worth 416 TIMES the price?
Don't get me wrong, chalk and cheese comparison. But even as you say averaging it over 4 years… $1 vs $520, makes you think about it.

      • How to get one for $5 at woolies? I need a bunch of cheap phones

        • Bikies?

  • I picked up the 16 pro max in desert titanium this morning. It's a very nice built phone it was for my wife as an upgrade from her 13 pro max. The pro max battery is incredible.any way it's an upgrade every 3 or 4 years.
Also the dedicated camera button should be on every phone.. only the Nokia used to have one.. don't know why more people don't implement this
If you can get it you will enjoy it.

    • +4

Sony has it on all Xperias.

  • Surprising to see they are already started to discount since release date just today ?

  • What's the price for pro max 1TB?

    • -1

      $2599.99

Damn that's $247 cheaper than OW. Price beat go go go!

      • +3

        that's not the pro max

        • Indeed lol, pardon me it's late. But yeah it's not listed yet then. Still $97 cheaper than OW.

      • Has anyone had success with price matching Costco at the Apple Store?

    • +1

it is 2749.99 but it is not in stock at the moment, same applies for the other storage options

      • Other prices

        $2399.99 Pro Max 512gb
        $2269.99 Pro 512gb
        $1929.99 Pro 256gb

      • Do you know if Costco is going to get it in stock?

  • +3

Absolutely cannot imagine what this thing does that makes it worth $2000.

A decade+ of growing a beautiful walled garden very few people can escape out from. An engineered masterpiece 15 years in the making. It will be studied for the next 100 years in Business schools doing electives like…. 'Ewwww, green bubble' and 'I don't want to look poor in front of my friends' to 'All the beautiful and richest people in the world use iPhones'.

    • It gets you inside the matrix .. where you will be continuously be searching for the next glory!

    • Really? How much did a nice camera cost you a few years back? A video camcorder, a diary, a calendar, a laptop computer, a wallet, a photo album, a TV, clock, car keys, calculator, family comunicator/social media etc etc. Most normal people use their phones for multiple hours a day (not saying that is great, but it's the norm). Why would someone NOT want a nice phone that does all of the above really well that is reliable, light weight, long battery life, etc etc?

    • Need your comment with every Zfolding phone lol, that one is so ugly that people pay that much too for FOLDING a phone.

    • My iPhone 11 Pro Max is still going strong
Use it every day for minimum an hour

  • Does anyone know if this would stack with OW PB 5% + the flybuys offer from Officworks with Onepass?

    • Following the same question.

  • anyone know if there is stock for the 512gb pro max in sydney costcos?

    • following

  • Anyone have a picture of Costco's 16 pro in store?

Currently not on their page yet.

  • Anyone have a clue?

  • +3

Purchased the 16 Pro which got delivered yesterday. After using it until now I have decided to keep my 13 Pro Max.

Don't really see the appeal of slight improvements over the years in camera and performance. My 13 takes great photos and still lasts for the whole day.

    • how was the action and capture button?

      • Honestly felt like the capture button is not needed. All functions and settings are easier to reach and use on the screen

  • iPhone is so boring now. Nah.

    • -1

But it’s the only phone brand that holds the longest value. Not to mention it’s longevity.

  • +4

No one has confirmed yet the OW Price match for this deal.

    • +1

I know people don’t even bother posting a receipt

  • OW offering 15x flybuys on entire Apple range…finishes today with one pass

  • I grabbed an iPhone 16 Plus for $1350 128GB from Facebook. (New opened). Not the best discount from new, around $250. For most, using discount giftcards and claiming GST back when going overseas will probably net bigger savings.

won't you get charged GST again when you return back to australia?

      • Unless you declare… it is unfortunately a loophole, unlike the tourism rebate scheme in Japan where citizens and long term visa holders ineligible to the tax rebate.

        • -1

Unless you declare… it is unfortunately a loophole

So you never declared the TRS items you bought when you returned to Australia?

The TRS office said that we could get fined if we don't declare all items we bought..

Seen too many Border Security Australia eps where people just not declared everything
and the agent gives them a few opportunities to declared anything not declared (even though they know there is)
then opens their luggage and then fines them..
And then the travelers begs for another opportunity or forgiveness (but now it is too late)

          • -1

@pinkybrain: Anyone leaving Australia claiming GST exemption should not return with the exempted goods, or should declare that you have. Many abused this and not declaring, custom may search and match items with your TRS form if they choose to do so, but yet to hear such stories. I’ve never claim GST exemption on items I intend to bring back, I never need to make such declaration.

Another thing is overseas purchases above threshold also requires declaration, again people may abuse it by discarding packaging and proof of purchase if possible before entry, might be harder to catch especially with smaller high value items such as smartphone purchased overseas.

  • Just called up OW to pricebeat. They said they dont have any stock in any of the colours for delivery or pickup and can't pricebeat as a pre-order. bummer!

  • Does anyone have a picture of iPhone 16 pro max 512 GB or 1 TB instore for Costco?

I want to price beat with OW.

    • No need! I called OW this morning, and they already knew I was going to price beat against Costco (in Melbourne) for the 512GB Natural Titanium. It was processed straightaway without a hinch. Give it a try.
