        you must've used it a lot, mines still going pretty strong, but probably because I use in ears half the time. Replaced the earpads a couple times though

        You may be able to replace the batteries in your XM2. My WH-1000XM3 can have it's battery replaced, based on a quick search. I've already replaced the ear pads on my XM3 (very cheap and pretty easy).

      I am using WF1000XM5B bought from one of my previous Sony refurbs posts. Airpods Pro 2 sound somewhat better to me but these Sony last 50% longer on one charge.

    Thought I share my experience with refurbed model I purchased couple months ago. The audio quality wasnt not that great compared to my old M2s. I'm guessing there are some units with quality issues which gets returned by users with in return period and Sony just resells them as refurbished. I may be wrong.

    I brought WH1000XM4B from last deal of similar price and returned it, never tried it before, but I surprisingly found that the sound quality is not what I expected
    1. It is worse than its in-ear cousin WF1000XM interms of clarify and accuracy in lows and mids.
    2. It is way worse than Philips SHP9500 on every aspect.
    Generally the bass are extremely muddy, feel like hearing things in a cave with plastic film covering my ears.

    And the earcups are shallow and not breathable, my ears started to sweat 10 mins after wearing it while sitting in front of my desk.

    ANC is pretty good though.

    I don’t get the attraction of these expensive headsets. I tried my girlfriend’s M5, and wasn’t impressed with sound quality. Interface was a bit clunky too.

      I agree - got work to pay for mine thankfully. Have a pair of the XM5's. They are great but there's only so much bluetooth can do.

    For xm5, google broken hinges. So many reported that the hinge got broken after only a few months. You have to take care of the headphone like a little baby, because it is terribly built.

    I have tried to buy the XM5 every time that this deal is on, but I always get too late. Is it too much difference between the XM4 and XM5? Currently I have the XM3 but the battery doesn't last for long and the headband and the ear pads are too old now.

      Similar for me but the XM4. I managed to get some the last time they came up but Sony/AusPost still haven't sorted themselves out 2 months later. Raising an issue with eBay hasn't helped either.

      Where are you finding stock of the 4's?

      I just replaced some dead 4's with refurb 5's after being shafted several times buying used 4's with dead batteries… I find the 4's more comfortable. The 4's also have better bass, but the 5's do sound at least as good if not a tiny bit better in other regards. I'd go back to 4's if I could actually find new or refurb ones at a similar price …

      Edit: oh. I thought we were talking about the WF earbuds. Oh well, I'll leave this here in case it's useful to anyone.

    keen to give XM5 a go, but already got Bose QC latest version, and B&W PX7 S2e, unsure if XM5 will have better ANC than QC or better sound quality than PX7 S2e

    Just adding my experience, got mine today and while the quality is overall good they are obviously used with a couple of minor marks on the earcups. Not lucky like others receiving "basically new" condition, regardless, no regrets.

      How is the condition of the little round filters (when you take off the ear tips)?
