Bulova Jet Star 96B414 - $299 Delivered @ Starbuy

230

Good price for the Bulova Jet Star with leather band.

Although this is a quartz movement it has a super smooth sweep, possibly unrivalled and would keep excellent time.

One downside is you might only get 2 years between battery change.

I personally prefer the red version with the bracelet and wish it was on sale too, it would be an instabuy.

I'm still umming and ahhing on this let's see if I fold.

  • Great price. I saw no mention of sapphire but I'm pretty sure it's a sapphire crystal.

    • It is

the stainless-steel case features a striking angular design with broad facets and a domed sapphire crystal

      • I need to read slower in future.

Does this get delayed very often?

The Jet Star is powered by Bulova’s Precisionist movement, a revolutionary 8-jewel quartz mechanism vibrating at a remarkable 262kHz, accurate to 5 seconds per month.

      It is insanely accurate.

I can see myself folding by the end of the day. I like how the silver dial on this one dials down (heh) the 70-ness, together with the leather strap. It would go with a lot of outfits compared to the more lurid colourways which I think would require some care in matching.

Although having said that I do like the red/merlot version too and I can see myself succumbing at some point.

    • It will look good on your wrist :)

    Very low price.

I'm also more keen on the red/blue version with bracelet. Would be an instant buy.

    • I have the limited edition red/blue and it is a beautiful watch. The red and also the golden is a close second in my opinion and this silver one a super close third for me.

  • Always curious about Bulova watches. Where are they made?

    • +5

Bulova is headquartered in New York, NY – however it is owned by Citizen Watch Co, and has its watches manufactured in Japan, Switzerland, and Hong Kong.

    • These are cased in China.

"One downside is you might only get 2 years between battery change."

And yet it's acceptable to charge a smart watch or their phone every day.

    • +1

And then after 3 years, toss the smart watch or phone because the non-replaceable battery doesn't hold charge any more.

  • Wow great price and highly recommend.
    Paid $349 I think.

  • +3

I think this is an ATL, I got it for $349 last sale. Love the watch, super versatile, and there's some fun subtle teal on the hour markers and seconds hand.
