  • Are these generally quite compatible with older motherboards, I’ve the following system https://www.nebulapc.com.au/products/osa (ASUS PRIME A520M-E - DDR4) with an intel arc a770 added. I’m thinking I need a bit more power for the card than what I have here, also maybe better quality power supply. (Have also upgraded the ram to 128gb, playing around with AI and that helps with model size)

    • Just a smaller form factor, they area perfectly comparable with any modern motherboard from either camp.

You'll have no problems with that GPU at all either.

    • +2

You definitely do not require a 1000 Watt PSU.
While a quality power supply is a solid investment when building from scratch, I would keep what you have currently unless there is an explicit need (e.g. your system is randomly crashing). Save the money for your next build a few years down the line.
