Eighth regular set of the One Piece Trading Card Game (OP-08)

Website says preorder, but set released on Friday 12th September

The hype has settled with one piece with products dropping to a more reasonable level.

Booster box has 24 packs of 10 cards. Individual packs usually retail from $7 to $12 per pack so $144 works out to be $6 per pack.

Previous sets were retailing for $240 a box. In the early days $150-$$200 per box.

  • Are the rare cards still retain their value?

    • Yes for Pokémon cards not sure about anime cards.

  • I've watched a lot of booster openings and I wouldn't recommend boosters if you're just gambling.

    This product is heavily mapped, per booster, you will get 1-3 "hits" and the mapping becomes known per case of 6.

    Not so great sellers, can keep the known better boosters and sell you the known lesser ones. For example, it can become known, potential manga rare boosters are always in the bottom 3 boosters of a case.

    It's not "definite proof" but it's not for me. It's not as random as you'd imagine. Also, they insist on creating essentially dud packs, called "leader" or "don" packs, you will get a set # of these dud packs per booster, guaranteed.

    There's always some degree of mapping but more mature products will make it less noticeable or less possible to track. Bandia is still quite amateurish.
