      Can't go wrong with Carrier.

    • Totally agree even though your comment been downvoted to hell. Every Hisense product I’ve had has been very poor quality. Everyone, downvote my comment to show your support.

Hisense is one of the bigger manufacturers in China.
Does Hyundai even make aircons? I suspect it is a re-badge of another Chinese brand.

I installed a Kogan (Midea/GMCC), and a Hisense split system about 4 years back. No complaints so far, except some issues with the Tuya smart-home interface.

For something that will be in your house 10 years+, scrimping a couple of hundred or so might not necessarily be a bargain.

    Choice magazine rating:

69% - Hisense HSA25R - "bad points to mention: borderline range of airflow"
80% - MHI SRK25ZSXA-W (top of the range and priced accordingly) - very efficient cooling and heating so you pay more upfront but less on power
70% - MHI SRK10YSA-W - no "bad points to mention" similar pricing to the Hisense if you shop around

Currently getting an MHI installed as I type, the 'leccy recommended MHI and Panasonic, told me to stay away from Daikin and Fujitsu.

  • Had a MHI Ciara installed recently. Efficiency wise I think it’s very good, but the WIFI function is horrible. If WiFi is important for you, you might need to reconsider.

You can replace the wifi module with an esp8266 running esphome. I have them in all my MHI splits and then in home assistant/apple home. All for the cost of $5 each!

      • I did this also, absolutely beats any other manufacturers wifi implementation hands down! Will be steadily replacing all my Gree units with MHI as they slowly die haha

  • nice, has anyone installed similar for a unit with a balcony, what was the price range?
