Better off looking for a B650E board. 1 less nvme 4.0 but you get PCIe 5.0 graphics slot.. i guess the Twin 16+2+2 Phases VRM is a little better then the 12+2+2 Phases VRM on the B650

    • Does the vrm matter if using an x3d type CPU? I'm so unfamiliar with vrm, was initially set on a gigabyte aorus master b650e but have heard the Gigabyte boards can be dodgy.

The lower end ones are dodgy imo. But anything aorus is top notch.

        • Oh shit, did not know that. Alright. Might stick with it.

      • Vrm is not super important for x3d chips but as they get hotter than non x3d chips. Just dont buy the lowest end boards. This is probably overkill for the 7800x3d

        • CPU is a 7950x3d. I'll get around to the hardware unboxed videos, have heard countless people mention that channel.

      • Just want to clarify the b650 boards are fine. Just the lowest end b650 boards are dodgy. It might make sense to you to get a b650 board over this. But this is a good deal.

If you want to learn a little more on vrm and mobos. Hardware Unboxed has some good videos on all b650 boards and their vrm temps. Aorus being the king there as well.

      • 7950X3D still uses 150W so yes to a degree

      • Gigabyte B650 boards are good for AM5.. quick boot times and very stable

  • I'm torn between this and the Gigabyte X670 GAMING X AX V2

      Aorus over gaming any day

      • yuh its just this is 65 bucks more so is it worth?

  • 16 “Twin” phase power… this means they are set up in parallel. In reality, it’s 8 phase… (maybe better) idk. Someone more knowledgeable can maybe explain.

      Yep it's 2x8+2+2 (see here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NQHkDEcgDPm34Mns3C93…)

I would choose a ASRock b650e taichi lite over this for slightly more (if you can get a good price). That has a much more powerful vrm 2x12 with 110A power stages).

Saying that, this isn't a bad board, and it's a good price.

      • trying to find one is the issue, places you can find one seem to be asking a premium

I swear every single gigabyte board that I've owned has been a complete piece of shit. Including my X670e auros master, which I bought thinking that enough time had passed since my last, and should be a better experience than last time, but no. Will never buy another gigabyte board again.

    • I have a B650M AORUS ELITE AX ICE with a Ryzen 7600 + Gskill DDR5 6000 CL30 … Awesome board, rock solid stable, under 10 second boot times and all i did was enabled EXPO. thats it.. nothing else

Surprisingly, this deal is still going, and the price has come down to $348.23 due to AUD dollar going up over the last month by 2c.
