Detailed Monitors Unboxed review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlsGvOV-Y74

Picked up this monitor today. It's tuned for best gaming performance in the 80Hz to 120Hz range so not ideal for pro/competitive FPS gaming but excellent for single player games.

For a budget monitor it gets very bright, has high contrast ratio, bright, rich colours, FreeSync Premium and rear mounted OSD toggle. Build quality is very good, solid height/tilt adjustable stand - no rotate or pivot. The stand base is more compact than most - approx 17cm in depth. Text is crystal clear.

Runs at 180Hz out the box without overclocking. Both HDMI 2.0 ports and DP 1.2 support 180Hz. Comes with 1 HDMI cable but no DP cable.

Impressed for the price and miles ahead of similarly prices business/home monitors and VA gaming monitors.

1% surcharge for Card & PayPal payments.

  • Seems to be a really good budget monitor to grab for some high frame gaming. Tempted to grab one for my son as he's on a 60hz shitter, not that he really cares at 9 years old

I just bought an AOC 24" monitor, 100hz and IPS from MSY for $85 for portable lanning. Might suit your needs at half the price.

Good price as I'm in the market for a better monitor that uses less wattage than my current setup, but it doesn't have audio… so it would definitely be a downsize if I had to use my TV or laptop's audio. What do people use in this case to get good audio? External speaker setup, I guess?

    • The Acer kg242 M3 monitor got speakers for $10 more although there is no official professional review on it but they are similar spec wise

    • Very few monitors come with even half decent speakers. An exception is BenQ monitors with treVolo True Sound, e.g, BenQ EX2510S but its about $200 and while some would consider the sound OK its only as good as half decent cheap desktop speakers, e.g, Creative Pebble 2.0 starting at $30+.

  • This deal or the below? Thoughts please.

      Must do YOUR-OWN home-work, including Rtings-reviews-> https://www.google.com/search?q=24+GAMING+monitor

      Short-list,
      1.Gigabyte G24F 23.8inch 165Hz(OC 180Hz) FHD FreeSync IPS Gaming Monitor
      2.AOC 24G2SE 23.8inch VA 165Hz FHD Gaming Monitor
      3.AOC 24G4 23.8inch FHD 180Hz Fast IPS Gaming Monitor
      4.Samsung Odyssey G32A 24inch 165Hz FHD VA Gaming Monitor
      5.LG UltraGear 24GS50F-B 24" FHD VA 180Hz HDR10 1ms FreeSync Gaming Monitor

If you play shooting-games that NEED high-frame-rate (120+ Hz), then forgot about LG 24MR400-B & I can't find any DECENT-reviews on it.

      FYI, all the-above monitors were $200+ & ON-special 1 years ago.

      Gaming's expensive & hence don't cheap-out on quality…assuming you plan to use for 3+ years. Just like you can't cheap-out on gaming-pc COOLING: 4 fans: 3 IN-flows & 1 OUT-flow.

      • Thank you, I should have explained that I'm looking for a monitor for work purposes - to work from home. I grabbed the LG from the other deal. Pretty decent for work purposes, no complaints :)
