  • just the thing i was looking for! seems like a better buy than the ugreen since you can do 100w out of anyports compared to the latter

It throttles, doesnt do PD 12v and PPS doesnt go all the way to 20V.

    Use auto translate to english.

I wanted to buy but after watching above video bought the Acefast Z4 instead.

    • How are you finding the Acefast? Where did you get it from and for how much if you don't mind me asking.

    • Acefast Z4 looks pretty cool. Are you happy with it?

      • Yes,I am happy with it.I managed to get it for A$98 delivered.

    • +1

Can I ask where you got the Acefast from?

    • Does the Acefast renegotiate existing connections when you plug something else in?

edit: or when you change power modes?

      • No it does not. I tested it just now.

  • Any of these ever allow 140W on a single port, for fast charging a big MacBook?

  • Anyone can chip in whether ugreen 200W or this one?

    • Anker:
      • Better power distribution
      • Marginally lower idle power usage and higher efficiency
      • Usually cheaper
(If you buy it from Anker’s website it comes with a 3-in-1 cable for the same price but the cable is pretty shit)

      UGreen:
      • Comes with a USB cable for an extra $12

AllThingsOnePlace has reviewed the UGreen 200W charger but hasn’t reviewed that particular Anker model. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcRV9sai2ok

UGreen products were very solid when they weren’t priced higher than equivalent Anker ones. Some of their GaN chargers and power banks are just priced too high.

      • UGreen uses 3-prong power cable so it's grounded. Not sure if that makes it any better though.
I've been using the UGreen for more than a year (since before it's available in AU), very solid and never gets even warm, even though all 6 ports are connected for powering 3 laptops and 3 phones.

By what I managed to gather from videos and comments:

      Anker 200W
✅ Lighter & more compact, but less thermal mass & (presumably) worse heat dissipation
      ✅ Cheaper
      ✅ 24 month warranty
Unable to sustain constant 2x100W output - throttles to 2x70W after some time - presumably bad thermal management (?)
      ❌ Uses a figure-8 plug

      UGREEN 200W
❌ A little heavier & bulkier, but better thermal mass & heat dissipation
❌ A little more expensive at $12 extra, but comes with a 100W USB C cable
❌ No mention of warranty on listing (assume 1 year return/refund with Amazon)
Missing safety listing labels - a strange thing for UGREEN to cheap out on
Able to sustain 2x100W output without throttling or thermal issues (will still get hot though)
      ✅ Uses a 3-prong (grounded) plug

TL;DR: UGREEN 200W is probably the better option in terms of overall reliability, but costs extra and takes up more space and weight.

I went down the rabbit hole too, here's some more notes (some have already been mentioned):

        • The Anker doesn't do 12V out for some reason.
        • The Anker PPS is 3V-16V 5A, the UGREEN is 3V-21V 3A.
        • The Anker can supply 100W across any of its USB-C ports, the UGREEN is can only do 65W on its C3/4 ports.

        Personal observations:

        • I need to see some temperature measurements of the Anker. If it runs say ~10°C cooler than the UGREEN I might be OK with it throttling to ~140W after an hour or so at ~200W.
        • The ground prong is unnecessary. It's arguably useful for holding a heavy charger more securely to the wall, but for desktop chargers the 2 prong is fine (and smaller if you're travelling).
        • For Anker this thing is cheap, and I do believe the performance/quality is reflected in that.

Thanks @anonym and @Hiphopopotamus for this!

I'm now considering the 300W from Ugreen too since its on sale as well! Seems like it might be better.

          • @clause: The 300W is far too chonky for portability. And I only have 2 devices that require 100W, so the 200W charger is my sweet spot 😁

    • Me too! Not sure when it will launch though :(

      • +4

It's Anker, so it will launch in Australia once the US has a newer better version.

        • Reached out to Anker and they have said it is expected to be released in October. They didn't give a firm date but let's hope.

    • +1

No 5v, 10v or 12v on the USB C ports seems odd on that model.

  • Does anyone have experience with anker refunds/warranty?

Emailed about a week ago, no response

    • +1

Yeah, bought a 65W Anker from Amazon store during covid. Delivery was held up and during the back and forth realised the onsite address the courier had for me was not my address. Impressed on Anker store that as much as they were assuring me the package had been flagged for redelivery it was not going to my address. Anker sent another unit with another tracking number. Second package was also delayed. Contacted Anker who mailed yet another unit. All three units arrived at my address within a week of one another.

Realise this is not warranty issue but all the same found them responsive.

      • +1

        Appreciate the response :)

      • +1

Update, myanker and anker are different websites.

Once I contacted the correct site, they were pretty damn responsive

  • Looking at the feedbacks, it seems ugreen is a better choice

  • FYI, it's heavy.

  • Does the power cord from the wall to device have IEC-7 (figure-8) plug & socket ? hard to tell from the pics.

I have an older version of this type of device from 5 years ago with IEC-7 and it's great when travelling as I can take just one 2m mains cord with the plug for that country/trip. Would be nice to update to more powerful modern specs.

EDIT: I see now in the description that it has C7 2-pin plug… so yes IEC-7 - noice.
