Kfc did a free meal one, this seems like torture almost

    • -2

This comes with a free My Domino’s Box meal.

      • +7

        It says $10

        • +2

The My Domino's Box is free. You just have to pay $10 to join the pizza school to get the box for free.

        • -1

The $10 pays for the labour cost as well as the cost of the apron and hat. The MDB is complimentary.

Good opportunity to learn from these experts https://youtu.be/iUB-NU7ZGfQ

    • then the kids can take their apron and cap and go straight to management!

  • Nothing seems to be coming up in South Australia.

    • Yea none in SA :(

  • +4

    Lol

    • +23

Yeah. Learn you make crappy Aussie style pizza with loads of tasteless shredded rubber “ham”, thick bread base, bad quality toppings? I’ll pass. (Awaiting the flaming downvotes)

      • +2

Just upvoted you. How do you feel now!

        • Whoa +15, 3 goals up at the 80 minute mark!

      • +1

I'm gonna give you one of them updoots. What now, nerd?

        • Here's a cheers to you too! What now? Back to avoiding shaking the cage too much.

      • +1

Don't forget to skimp on those bad quality toppings, corporate doesnt like it when you put more than 2 pieces of pepporoni etc.

  • +2

They teach you to make pizza their way, is that so you'd be an easy hirer?

    • I thought asking to pay for on the job training is illegal

  • +1

Is this aimed at kids? Had a vision of being the oldest in the class by a few generations.

If you pass, is there a graduation ceremony?

    • +2

yeah looks like it's aimed for kids. In the link you can see a photo of a kid with a Pizza School certificate of completion.

      • +9

Man, that Pizza School certificate gonna look so good on a resume.

        • +2

Like when boomers put School of Hard Knocks on their Facebook bio and proceeded to post a bunch of cooky conspiracy theory shit no one with a high school education would believe.

Thanks, date night with the missus sorted!

    • +3

I actually think this would be a fun silly date idea haha

  • Will they add more store to participate?

Only one store in Regional Western Australia. Wish more added around Perth's metropolitan suburbs.

    Store: Collie

Address: 90 Forrest Street, Collie Western Australia 6225

    • Mine closing down…town on a recruitment drive

    • I also checked and got the same result.

Then I remembered the local Dominos.

I really doubt they are even safe for kids to be in.

  • +1

LOL Dominos is more than perfectly fine as a decent low cost feed but as teachers of the art of pizza making? :-/

  • Booked for Brisbane, and the page just refreshed…. so am i booked in? plan on taking my young child there as i assume for kids who are free at 9am on a wednesday.

    • Did it again… nothing haha so maybe email confirmation later.

  • +1

This seems like the perfect time for OHS workers to go deep undercover Bond style

  • +1

The 8 year old would lap this up, but 9am, on a Wednesday, nearest store doing it is a good drive away too, it'll have to be a miss unfortunately, but very fun holiday activity for kids, hope they do more of this sort of thing in the future.

    • Yeah ditto, timing isn't great

  • +2

Don Meij at it again , gods he is under pressure to make money

  • +1

I feel sorry for the domino workers who will have to juggle these classes along with orders. Hopefully it's done during low traffic times

  • +2

Art meets reality. Seinfeld predicted it 30 years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cwh0Xruf0yQ

  • Imagine having the time at 9am on a Wednesday to go to an anti-pizza making class.

  • +5

Not dominos grooming kids to become future underpaid labour 💀

  • +4

Only availability is 9am on a school day…. what are they thinking?

    • +7

The sooner you drop out of school the sooner you can get a dead-end job.

    • school holidays?

      • nope, it is next Wed and the Wed after. Not yet school holidays.

        • your state ain't the only with schools and holidays

          • @cathole: well… i'm checking the store in my state so i believe it is completely relevant.

    • Least busy time for store.

  • There are hardly any other options available except Wed 10am minus 25/9.

  • Is this suitable for a 3.5 year old?

  • The marketing logic here is curious. A company that's business is selling you pizzas is offering to teach you how to do it yourself?

Is this a really sneaky staff recruitment scheme? Look at the fun it'd be making pizzas … for us.

    • +1

A lot of “ fresh “ and “top quality ingredients “ will be in the demo

    • +1

offering to teach you how to do it yourself

Except it costs a bomb to buy their ovens.

I see it as edutainment for my kids.

  • You won't be learning how to make pizza, you'll be learning to make that rubbish Dominoes sells.

    Pizza is something else entirely.

  • A Domino's exec went to Korean BBQ and the next morning he pitched this.
That is the only reasonable explanation for why this is a thing.

  • Nothing showing for Tasmania. Closest is Collie in WA. Not sure the travel is worth 45 minutes in a Dominos.

  • is any SA stores doing it?
