“Download our app, give us all your personal info and your credit card details and for three days you’ll maybe get a couple of dollars off your EV charging if you can find an outlet near you that works and isn’t already occupied”

    Lol

Do pulse have idle fees, or is a scumbag gonna block it long after his charge is finished?

    • I paid via Apple Pay

      • which gives them device id, postal address and email address…….

Yes you pay cash for everything else then?Get real

          • @reddot12: No - most things payPass / PayWave

or provide credit card details (which have strict controls in place - and can relatively easily be changed).

Not an attack on you - simply worth mentioning that ApplePay shares data, rather than just making payment convenient.

15% off the market's most expensive and inaccessible ev chargers, woo!

55c/kWh at my nearest for 150kW, assuming the rate in the app is already the discounted price.

Also the app appears to have daily pricing schedules. Get lost with that fuel cycle bulls—t, I went EV so I'd never have to deal with that again.

  • Dynamic pricing like any other - Same with Tesla which is always at a convoluted price during peak hours. For instance, I'm in Brisbane, went to look up closest to me, they were both occupied and it was at $0.65c/kWh, the next one further was available and was at $0.50kWh. I could have just gone to Ikea and chose type 2 which could have costed me $0.30kWh but wouldve waited for 3 hours to get an 80% charge - to each their own I guess

dynamic pricing is ok if it follows grid energy availability or peak demand etc, but arbitrary "fuel cycles" are bs.

Wow, owning an EV sounds terrible lol

Well you can charge at home too - its $0.8c/kWh if you’re on an EV plan and you can run everything else or a plan with free power between 11am and 2pm - different strokes for different folks. In the end you save more money

I plug in my car at home and charge on the super-cheap while I sleep, it's soooooooooooooooo inconvenient :p

  • Does anyone actually charge at BP?

    • I charge at Glenrowan on my way to Melbourne and haven't had any issues.

I've charged at 3 or 4 stations. No issues other than the overpriced Magnums.
