Currently playing it. It's so damn fun.

    • +6

Yes really surprised! Really fun so far.. refreshing change of pace from 40K haha.

    • -1

Please tell me there's an option to turn off the stupid and annoying screen shake gimmick?

  • Hey Op, the coupon for Big W expired in August though?

    • +4

there is a new code XSEP2024

      • Awesome thanks! Also I wish this deal was posted 2 hours ago when I got EB games to price match JB Hi-Fi and Big W for $89 :(

        • +1

Just enjoy the game :-) ✌️

  • +22

newsletter sign up brings it down to $69

    • Great tip! Cheers!

      • Does this work for existing target app users who never subbed to the newsletter? Or should I make a new account?

    • How long after signing up should I receive the $10 voucher?

EDIT: Found it in the spam folder

      • I signed up on the website, its been 20 minutes and still havnt recieved anything.
I also signed up to onepass and havnt recieved anything. How long did it take the email to arrive for you.

    • +3

Great suggestion. $69 for a universally acclaimed game at launch aint bad these days. Still remember the PS3/PS4 days where this used to be the standard launch price, long gone in the PS5 days.

    • 10 out of freaking 10 dude, thanks

    • Awesome, was gonna wait to see how quickly it would drop, but such a nice discount hard to refuse

  • +2

Excellent, price matched with JB on line and having it uber delivered for the $10 I saved.

  • +1

    Any controller left?

    • +3

Amazon, JB, EB have the controller listed at time of typing this $124

      • +2

EB still have the trade in offer available as well (available for 5? days after release date).
Trade in 2 eligible games and pay $49 for the controller.

Some eligible games can be found in JB's current 2 for $30 offer.

Spoke with EB staff who said you just pay full price online, then bring the receipt in and they can refund the difference to bring it down to $49.

  • +2

Meanwhile Big W has still not dispatched my preorder

    • Nor me, won't be going with them again. Looks like they only got the stock today, and are sending it from a store that received it (unlike Amazon, that get them sent to their warehouse and sent out before release day)

      • +1

I noticed with Amazon that preorders said I'd receive it on Monday or Tuesday, but now it has been released, if I order it today I'd get it on Sunday lol.

        • Same for me, my pre-order is saying it will be delivered Monday or Tuesday but if I order within the next 5 hours it will be delivered tomorrow (Saturday)!

          • +1

@Oceadge: Yeah I would order it again for tomorrow and then either cancel or return the preorder copy

    • I’ve got a Couriers Please tracking number but no movement.

      • Mine still says Picking

    • Amazon only shipped mine at midnight.

Annoying, I thought they were meant to ship day before release. Think I'll just go buy in store next time.

      • Big W courier sent me an email that the shipment was created. I guess that means it'll ship Monday and arrive Wednesday.

    • Don't get too discouraged, Big W/Couriers Please tracking information absolutely sucks at being accurate.
Up until about 5 minutes ago mine was apparently still a state away in NSW, until it *magically* teleported to my mailbox this morning without announcement or fanfare.

Same thing happened a week ago actually when I ordered Emio the Smiling man from them, I got it at some point during the week and then literally 4 days later I got an email telling me that it's been delivered and they left it in a safe place.. 🙄

I would just check your mail every day.

  • +2

Damn, that's a good deal. I wish the Big W pre-order I made the other week allowed for click and collect; mine's in transit right now when I could have picked this up from Target today if I had waited 😭😭

    • +1

Same here!! Double bad when a delay and then a better price comes along…

  • +3

Big W haven't even shipped mine yet!

  • +1

Cheaper at EB using the trade in deal and combining with JB's 2 for $30.
    Works out to be $69

Could be even cheaper if you can score yourself any of the higher value 2 for $30 games to trade in on top.

Also combine with JB's $10 Perks offer to make it cheaper again.

    • +1

How do you find out what games are accepted for trade in at EB?

    • +4

I did this today. Walked into JB. Bought 2 copies of Diablo 4 (2for$30). Walked to EB and traded. Paid $39 additional. $69 total spent

    • +4

Easier to sign up to Target enewsletter and receive $10 discount code.

      • +1

Or Price match with JB and use $10 Perks Code.

  • +1

JB was happy to price match this - which is great for me as I have no Targets nearby, but a JB in walking distance. Awesome!

  • +2

Regretting Big W purchase - I've only just received the CouriersPlease "shipping info received" notification for an interstate pickup..

    • +6

Buy instore and return the sealed Big W instore for refund once it arrives.

      • +1

        Great idea, thanks

  • +4

I surprised Amazon AU hasn't used auto price match yet. Amazon AU used be auto price match cheapest quickly in the past. Now not fast auto price match anymore it seems.

My backlog is too big. I'll buy it later.

  • +2

Annoyed since I ordered my copy from Big W a while ago and it just got shipped.
If I knew about this, I would have just ordered it ay my local Target.

  • Do these come with the poster and pre order DLC in the case?

    • +5

They are all sealed and standard copies. There is no way to distinguish preorder vs normal stock. So yes they would have those in the case.

  • For some reason it kept telling me that delivery was unavailable for the item, so I ended up just choosing to do a click and collect.

This game looks incredible and I cannot wait to play around with all the really nice physics stuff they have implemented in the game, I am a massive sucker for that stuff.

  • +4

Just unboxed my copy and it comes with a poster. The other side of the poster is a comic strip/instructions which is really cool in today's day and age

    • -7

When you get the chance, can you check in the options if it has the option to turn off the stupid and annoying screen shake gimmick?
      Thanks in advance

      • Not sure why you got neg-ed. Just checked the settings, no screen shake option

        • +2

Because they are spamming the deal with the same question repeatedly six times when a google search could have answered their question. And also calling it a gimmick where nobody else is complaining about it.

      • -1

Please supply references to level 2 evidence or higher

  • +1

I preordered the controller and was thinking of cancelling it because the eyes are just printed onto it like stickers. But the shoulder buttons, sticks, and bottom half are white and apparently this is the only PS5 controller where that's so, all the rest are black (even the official white one). So Imma keep it, treat myself.

  • +5

Mad, haven't bought a new release game in a long time, but with that like 95% metacritic score, and it being a complete singleplayer game. Happy to buy on release.

Hopefully they get the hint and make more games like this instead of garbage like that Concord game.

    • Yeh, felt like playstation or rather Sony Interactive Entertainment placed all the eggs into high budget/long development games that feels same-y instead of a variety of games.

Glad Team Asobi is picking up the slack. I miss games like gravity falls

  • +4

Got it delivered today, comes with pre-order code (2x avatars and some skins that will be unlocked later in the game), a little poster, and the game is colourful, fun, and light. Liking it a lot so far.

    • -6

      Awesome.
Can you check in the options if it has the option to turn off the stupid and annoying screen shake gimmick?
      Thanks in advance

      • I don't see any toggles related to any screen shaking, also it doesn't bother me in the slightest

        • -1

          Damn that no good.
          Thanks anyway.
Also, it should bother you if you look up what screen shake and flashy lights does to your eyes and brain. But alas, to each their own when it comes it well being

  • +2

The website stock is inaccurate. I just popped down to my local store and they had it on the shelf despite saying otherwise when trying to click and collect.

  • -4

It seems like good game and I can’t wait to play it.
As a 9hr game - it can wait for now until a decent price drop.

  • +1

Highly recommend people go and pick this up! Game is pure joy and a visual delight. Plus the haptics and audio are next level.

      • Hasn’t remotely annoyed me and why would you comment this tiny complaint multiple times to people enjoying the game?

          • +3

            @halil23:

causes damage to your eyes and brain!

Just wait until you learn that Earth is flat and 5G spies on your thoughts!

            • -6

@drasticmeasures1337: "Just wait until you learn that Earth is flat and 5G spies on your thoughts!"

Nah, I'm not brainwashed like you to believe that BS

Also, it's pathetic and pitiful to see another tool who don't care about their well being

  • Thanks OP, bought.

  • +1

The music is so catchy in the game! And everything is a joy and satisfying to interact with, not to mention the platforming is great. It seems simple at first but it mixes it up so much it feels new and fresh every level. No wonder it’s 95% on Open Critic.

  • +1

Boom, ordered. Lots of hype around this one, worth a look.

    • +1

I saw in a video you can dress Astro Bot up as Parappa the Rapper. This game is going to be sick..

  • +2

Picture my impatient ass in JB Hifi on Friday afternoon asking them to price match Harvey Norman for $1 off $89.

  • Has smashed my expectations, this could be the goty

  • Honest opinions - For someone who plays GT7 once a week, is this worth buying ?

    • +1

What other games do you like? Have you enjoyed platformers in the past? Or have any nostalgia for them from years past? If the answer is yes to either of those then definitely get it. Or if you’re just looking for something that is joyful and easy to pickup, I’d still recommend it.

    • +1

I'm going to latch onto the "once a week" part of your playing

Yes definitely because this game is meant to be played by all, people with a little time, people that can't remember lots of controls, people that don't want a game that takes hours to get enjoyment out of

Like your races, the levels last for between 5 and 10 minutes and are actually comparatively easy(/er) in "motor" skills (ha!) but involve a little on the fly problem solving too.

That means it's engaging, and it's achievable, and it's fun, without relying upon excessive difficulty or having to redo sections.

You can die. You probably won't much. You won't really mind when you do. Means you walk away feeling pretty pleasant afterwards. Not salty from your once per week gaming session.

      • Thanks!

I bit the bullet and bought it

        Fantastic so far!

  • +1

Thanks OP, price matched through JB.

I rarely purchase games on release.
But this game needs some love, especially at this price point.

  • I had ordered this through amazon with the $20 off and my girlfriend was so excited to play co op but I found out one day before it was single player only. Serves me right for going in blind so I had to cancel it. Anyone know any other co op games like it takes two and sackboy ps5?

    • +1

You have mentioned the best there really

Everyone speaks well of a way out (PS4 game)

      But crypt of the necrodancer

      And broforce

Oh, and unravelled 2 should suit you if you like it takes 2

Both have good 2 player excitement for couch coop

You could check if wizard of legend also has coop
