  • Besides being a bit bulky, how's G series compare to Lenovo LOQ? And will this 13th gen 13650HX having same painful issue too?

    • Apparently the laptop chips aren't affected, only desktop.

    what so cheap!

  • no other ebay code?

Can you shut down the GPU when not gaming? While just studying, browsing etc.

    • +1

Some laptops (not all) will auto switch from GPU to integrated graphics when disconnected from wall power. So by default, no GPU when running on battery.

You can override this but even laptops with massive batteries only last about an hour with the GPU running.

Laptops usually have the software to let you switch on the fly these days.

      • Thanks for the info.

        • but its hard to find out if a particular laptop has mux switch or not….

  • Looks like a good deal

'Weighing just 2.65kg, this lightweight yet durable Dark Shadow Gray laptop is designed for gaming on the go. With up to 5 hours of battery life, Windows 11 Home OS, and a 1-year warranty.' … I guess that's one way to spin it'll do your back in and probably give you 2-3hrs on battery if your lucky.. 😐

Gaming laptops are such a compromise, the performance always looks good until you check the weight, heat, noise, battery life, power brick.

      • Hehe oh yeh I know, just the description is something that's all … Made me chuckle

  • I've been contemplating replacing my broken laptop for a while.

If this is the great deal it looks to be, be tempting to bite the bullet.

    1. USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 with Display Port Alt-Mode
does it means when connecting via usb c the rtx4050 will active?

    edit. not.
This Alt-Mode allows it to support various transmission interfaces, such as the DisplayPort display interface or the Thunderbolt interface

Im passing on anything intel 13/14th gen for the time being due to the reported issues.

    EDIT:
Intel have claimed laptop SKUs are not imparted

    But I'd still pass.

    https://www.theverge.com/2024/8/30/24232279/intel-13th-14th-…

  • Only 3 in stock.

    • at time of posting was more than 10 looks like being ozbargained up

      • yeah, I think I’m wrong. It says more than 10 available under “About this item tab” but only 3 can be added to cart, so probably just a cap.

  • +2

This is amazing value, just ridiculously cheap, so buy one and then wait until Intel have the necessary firmware update that will stop your 13th gen CPU from frying itself.

    • +1

still too risky, plus it is so bulky, I will pass … and looks like the economy really slowing down, now branded 4050 laptops only $800, will wait for more cheap deals coming up close to black Friday sale !!!

  • Can we Wukong with this?

  • +1

looks like out of stock, two left with 30 in cart hope you all got one.

  • +1

i impulse brought one! now not sure if I got a good deal. First gaming laptop for my son. Not sure if I should cancel order?

    • Good for you mate. It's showing out of stock for me.

    • +4

I think its a great first gaming laptop hard to beat for this price. If they didn't need portability thought would highly recommend a desktop.

      • +1

agree, very cheap for what it is

      • +1

good point. decided to cancel and spend a little more when another good gaming pc deal comes up, dont need portability. The huge power brick that comes with this laptop was the decider.

        • +2

Yeah saw reviews and couldn't believe how super big that power brick is, not regret to pass this deal

    • do you think id have any trouble returning in store for refund if after some thought I decide agsinst keeping?

    • +1

You should be able to sell it for what you bought jt for if you dont want it.

Hard to beat at this price though

  • SOLD OUT !!! got ozbargained so quick.

    • had a feeling it would especially with the extra $50 off was no brainer for most in need of something.

  • Damn this was a good deal

  • Is there something bad about this thing?
Seems like a good deal. My son's still using his 2060 Acer Nitro 5 from 2021.

    • +1

The 4050 is a marginal upgrade on the 2060, the processor would be a bit better as well.

The 3050 and 2050 are trash cards

      • Thanks for the quick response.

      • oh no just about to consider buying 3050 :( i thought 3 always better than 2

        • Any nvidia card carrying the 50 at the end up until the 4050 was to be avoided :)

  • I have a few questions but at this price it's a great deal regardless.
