$5 Bonus Cashback on $50 Spend (Includes Gift Cards, Activation Required) @ Cashrewards

5180

Seems to be the same terms as last time, meaning you should be able to purchase gift cards with the bonus.

This promotion is open to members that successfully activate the bonus offer as directed by Cashrewards (“Eligible Entrants”). To qualify for the $5 bonus, Eligible Entrants must first activate the offer, then shop online using a Cashrewards platform from 6 September 2024 12:00AM AEST to 8 September 2024 11:59PM AEST (“Promotional Period”) with a minimum spend of $50 (incl. GST) on a single eligible transaction (“Qualifying Purchase”). A Qualifying Purchase excludes the purchase of ineligible items as set out in the merchant special terms, or items with a 0% cashback rate at the time of purchase. Bonus will be approved in the Eligible Entrant’s Cashrewards account within 7 days of the associated Qualifying Purchase being approved. Cashrewards Terms of Use (https://www.cashrewards.com.au/terms-and-conditions) apply to the use of the Cashrewards platform and any associated purchase. Bonus is limited to one per Cashrewards account and is over and above the advertised store cashback rates which still apply to the transaction. Additional transactions do not qualify for additional bonuses. Fraudulent activity will result in rewards being forfeited and accounts closed.

Enjoy!

Banner indicates it only applies only to booking.com, bws, myer, adorebeauty.

    edit : "and more". hmmm.

    • +4

Get $5 bonus cashback when you spend at least $50 at these brands and more.

Also, it would state that in the terms, sooooo…..

      • +4

Not if it will get rejected, but a $50 Amazon gift card has been tracked successfully with this $5 bonus.

        • +2

You should know in a few hours.

          • @HamBoi69: Meant to say 'Not sure if it will get reject'

            • @masano1: tracked on 7-11 giftcard. Unfortunately the fuel and auto giftcard minimum is $100 now

              • +2

@rjams23: As I found out last time 7-11 card can be used at any servo (MCC 5541) so same same.

                • @bamzero: Thanks … that's good to know. Will try it

                • -1

@bamzero: Do u need to tell them its a 7eleven gift card? Can they just process it just like a normal credit card?

Separate Q, do u find it hard to use leftover gift card balances? Last attendant didnt know how to do separate payment tender 🤦

                  • +1

@Sweetnsour: Just pay with credit card as usual, they don't need to know what it is. I just say $50 on card, then remainder on whatever else I'm using, whether it's card again or gift card.

Whether the attendant knows how to split the transaction is going to depend on the store I guess. I used at EG Ampol, I've never had any problem there as usually pay with Wish gift card and often need to split to use up remainders.

                  • +2

@Sweetnsour: All you need to do is tell the attendant that you would like to use a Visa card (or card).

I do not find it difficult to do split payments, but that is because I tend to use my 7-Eleven digital gift cards at Ampol Foodary, EG Ampol and Shell Coles/Reddy Express. From what others have told me, whether you can do split payments at 7-Eleven can depend on the staff member you get.

                  • @Sweetnsour: managed to find out to check card balance by BlackHawk network is https://www.cardbalance.com.au/

did few below and it's working

                • @bamzero: Thanks this is useful!

              • @rjams23: hold-> 'fuel and auto giftcard minimum is $100 now' ?

If lots of people buy, why incentivise ?

        • +3

@masano1 Activated and $5 bonus pending has tracked without any purchase. It will decline later if I don't buy.

          • +1

@trixieb: Yes, agree. These kind of bonus cashbacks from Cashrewards always track as soon as you activate them, even before you make a qualifying purchases. They only become redeemable once a qualifying purchases is tracked and itself becomes redeemable

        • What if a person bought that particular $50 Amazon gift card, paying for it with gift cards (which were purchased discounted), and still qualify for the $5 bonus ?

  • +4

Waiting patiently for the answer to dose it apply to GC :)

    • +8

      dose or dosent who knows!!!

      • +2

        Username checksout!

    • Mine has been confirmed and paid.

  • Surprised to find no Apple gift card. Have I missed one of the multi-store cards?

  • +1

Confirmed $5 tracked straight away after purchased Amazon Gift card

    • +19

$5 tracks straight after you activates the offer.

      • +1

Thanks for clarifying that coz I bought a $50 DD gift card and all I could see was that default entry you get upon activating the offer itself, nothing else..

    • Same here

      • +3

It tracks without making a purchase on activation. Not tied to a purchase.

  • +12

I have done it again to test it, bought a $50 Amazon gift card via the Cashrewards gift card portal

Will report back when it turns confirmed

    • +1

You might be waiting till "Estimated approval: 05/12/2024"

      • +1

It normally takes within a few hours as linked by OP from my previous comment

      • +1

Gift cards usually are approved in a few hours…

        • For the promo bonus too?

    • +5

BTW - I bought it as soon as OP posted the deal, so should be quicker than the other comments :)

  • -8

    Cashrewards? No thanks.

  • +2

Do they have any EBay gift cards? (I can’t find any)

    • +1

      Hmm. Yeah no more

  • Tracked immediately with an airbnb GC + the normal 3% rate. Good stuff.

    • +3

$5 will be tracked as long as you actived the offer

    • -2

Whos the 2 numbskull who downed u? Have a + to counter

  • Bought $50 GC, thanks,

  • last time the promotion shows spend $50 get $5 without any brand, this time shows booking, bws, must and adore beauty brands, so it may only for those four shops.

  • +1

Bought $50 amazon GC. Let's see if that confirm the bonus

  • All I chase for these days using Cashrewards is to hit the minimum $10.01 to withdraw my cashback. Use other cashback providers as my main cashback drivers.

    • +2

Leave at least 1c in there when you withdraw to make it easier to withdraw in future.

  • -1

I activated the offer then looked at all the gift cards available and was really disappointed to find there was no Woolworths or Coles, so the offer is useless to me.

    • Supermarket card?

    • +3

You can use the Liquor card to buy Coles Myer GC from Liquorland.

Source from the previous deal post: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15607711/redir

    • +1

Cashrewards also has 10% cashback at Coles today. The $5 bonus is not for gift cards only so you should be able to stack the 2 bonuses.

EDIT: Just noticed it's a minimum spend of $200. Still useful for large shops.

      • +1

@tbone74 I've updated my Cashrewards Coles post after contacting Cashrewards and receiving a reply. Please note that cashback will be declined when the minimum spend falls below $200 due to out of stock cancellations or substitutions from Coles.

  • Thanks for sharing OP, just bought 7/11 GC!

    • Update: Just approved for bonus and GC standard rate.

  • +7

This promo is poorly worded, hanging off buying until confirmation the gift cards (eg 711 or Amazon) do actually qualify.

It's weird just the four brands are displayed.

    • Either they didn't put it through chatGPT or chatGPT hallucinated and nobody did a quick read.

    • The wording is "and more". They just listed a few as an example.

      • +1

Which is meaningless drivel without details.

  • can you still use Coles Master giftcard to pay for it?

    • +3

No, you cannot use any prepaid gift cards to buy gift cards as Cashrewards has changed the gift card provider.
When you add a debit or credit card, they will send a verification code to your bank and you need to add the code to Cashrewards before your card is accepted as payment method.

    • +2

No, you cannot use any prepaid cards as a payment method on the gift card platform (even prepaid cards that support 3-D Secure, such as Qantas Pay). EonX (the gift card platform operator) will reject the prepaid card and display an error message.

  • +6

I wouldnt be surprised if it was only the cashrewards day staff pick stores. Booking, BWS, Myer, Adore, Mydeal and Footlocker so the "more" might only be mydeal and footlocker.

  • +1

Thanks OP. Bought GC on advice here as I wouldn't have expected to be included based on email wording 🤞

  • +2

Not wanting to add to the negativity around CR these days, but is there an Ozbargain rep for CR these days since TA webt to Top Cash Back ?

  • do these work together with the 10% cashback on dyson?

    • It should, this $5 is on top of any current offers

  • Fuel and auto gift card doesn't come in $50 anymore 😞

    • Buy 7 Eleven instead, works at other fuel stations too.

    • Apparently you can use the 7-11 gift card for any petrol station fuel purchase

      • 7-Eleven website only says at 7-Eleven stores, not others??

        • The giftcard is a MasterCard and they identify the merchant code being used for purchases, MCC 5541, which is any petrol station

          • +3

@txb: The 7-Eleven digital gift card is a Visa card and Blackhawk Network identify the merchant code being used for purchases, MCC 5541, which is supposed to be any service station where you are not using an automated fuel dispenser (e.g. the ones you see at Costco, U-GO Self Serve, etc). However, there have been reports of this gift card not working at some service stations (e.g. Medco, Budget Petrol) and without knowing further information (e.g. the MCC assigned to those service stations), it is hard to tell the reason the gift card was rejected.

            • @WookieMonster: OK Thank you for that info. I live in SA and I don't think we have 7-Eleven stations here. I have purchased the $50 Priceline Gift Card and received both cashbacks.

              • @eddieboy2: Have received $5 + $2.25 cashbacks

              • @eddieboy2: Correct, there are currently no 7-Eleven service stations in SA, but there have been reports of other people using 7-Eleven digital gift cards successfully at a number of other service stations. Have a look at this FAQ if you want to know for next time.

  • Looking to buy a $50 7-11 gift card, has anyone got the $5 confirmed?

  • Buy $50 Woolworths gift card through Woolworths online in Cashrewards after activation.

Hope it works, but haven't gotten the cashback yet.

    • +1

You won't get the cashback in this instance until closer to 95 days. Timeframes are quicker if buying a gift card through CR portal (approval in up to 5 days), rather than through Woolworths online (up to 95 days).

      • +1

Thanks for your reply. I wanted to buy Woolworths gift card, but it seems that Cashrewards doesn’t sell it anymore, so I had to buy it indirectly.

        • +1

You will still receive the bonus cashback, but it will just take longer.

        • +1

Did it track and at what rate?

There is no cashback rate listed for GC even though CR states cashback is eligible on GC purchases @WW, which led me to believe it's 0%.

          https://www.cashrewards.com.au/store/woolworths-online-groce…

          • +1

@Junk Sifter: Haven't tracked. I think it might be displayed after tonight.

Special term: Cashback is eligible on purchases of gift cards. So, as a exist customer, it should be 0.4%. I am not sure.
