Can we stack with CR's $100 cashback?

    • +6

I just order from laptop with cashrewards extension turned on for $220. Now, I have received an email from CR "Your Cashback is on its way! AUD 100 Estimated Approval upto 120 days."

    • Shit is there cashback, well thats a fail on my part

      • So time to cancel and reorder LOL. $120 a year indeed is a good deal with Optus 5G.

        • Nah… The cash rewards app has the original $320 price…

          • @Circly: Used the extension, and $100 tracked.

            • @lilicoco: This is what I want to do, but current 365 plan runs out in mid November. Will just have to wait till closer to the time and see if this is still running.

              • +1

@Apostle0748: CR's terms does not mention that it must be activated within xx days. So you may give it a try.

                • @lilicoco: Thanks for confirming the CR terms, I am considering getting this too but my current plan expires around 10 Dec.
Please let us know if CR confirms the cashback, as it seems they only offer $90 off from the website, so using the extension seems like a work around they may not honor?

              • @Apostle0748: Apostle0748 did you end up going for this deal with cashback? curious as my current plan expires in early December but i am thinking of jumping to this if Cashrewards also works with late activation.

            • @lilicoco: Did the extension show anything to indicate it will give $100 back?
Clicking on the extension only shows "Activate now" for me. But only for PostPaid plans.

Also did you use the extension on Desktop or Mobile?

              • @Anon257: It shows Optus Postpaid Mobile on my desktop extension, and estimated approval date is early Jan 2025. So you need to consider whether to take the risk or not.

  • Listed there @320 so same price

  • Current vodafone 320GB for $219 is soo much better than this.

Only if you get good Vodafone signal!

Sadly Optus had best signal for me…
      Use Amaysim mostly

Anyone know how long the expiry is on the SIM card? My current 365 day plan doesn't run out until November.

  • Isn't Catch like $120ish?

  • 365 expiry + 5G + better coverage + 200ishGB Data =

Only handful of options are there :/

the same package of telstra cost 350 bucks !

    • +2

The Boost Mobile 260Gb 12 month plan is currently going for $260 and you get the full Telstra Retail coverage.

      • oh.. have international calls too

  • Does the SIM need to be activated by a particular date?
My current plan expires in December.

  • For those that are cautious about purchasing via the deal link but want to get $100 cashback on Cashrewards - this link seems safer to use: https://www.optus.com.au/prepaid/sim-plans/230-was-320?ircli…

Found under the Deals and Offers section in the CR app. Expires 30 Sep though

Isn't this $10 worse than just using the link OP posted? $230 compared to $220
      Unless i've missed something

  • +1

It’s directly linked to Cashrewards (states ‘Cashrewards deal’) so you know the $100 cashback will be honoured.

    • Wasn't sure if the cashrewards "discount" of $90 stacks with the $100 "cashback" as the extension only shows Postpaid mobile deals.
Just want to be sure this will stack :)

Will order tomorrow with the CashRewards deal if so.

Received the email tracking cashback fwiw -

        Store Optus Prepaid SIM
Date of purchase 29 Sep 2024
        Amount AUD 230.00*

This will now appear in your Cashrewards account as ‘Pending’.
Once Optus Prepaid SIM confirms your cashback, it will be added to your available rewards.

  • Looks like this deal has been extended till 17 November, I missed out on the cash rewards though.

    • That is positive, can wait a little longer for another CashRewards deal.
