I've been keeping an eye out for a decent Mini PC recently and this one looks like a pretty good deal.

Unknown brand (to me) so strongly recommend reimaging Windows before use.

Note: price of original deal updated. Still a reasonable price based on specs I believe.

    Great specs for the price.

    • Good deal indeed, it could make great media PC or work machine.

Heavy gaming not so much, though integrated GPU (Iris Xe 96EU) could be Ok for light gaming.

Just this CPU would be around $400 - not that I would be building custom PC based on mobile i7.

      • Could it emulate Switch games?

        • +1

Better to get an Xbox Series S or X for that.

          • @Cheap Rich Guy: switch emulators on Xbox?

          • @Cheap Rich Guy: More like better to get a system with an AMD iGPU or NVIDIA dGPU. The processor in this has far better single threaded performance than the Series X.

      • 12700h is about as fast as a 5700x from what I can find, a cpu that costs half as much.

  • Can you do one cable only like a laptop?

    • +1

Yes, it got PD+ display output on the front USB-C port.

  • Do I just need a monitor and Office to get it work like a laptop or PC?

    • +4

      yes

    • +2

TV would work in a pinch.

    • keyboard and touchpad/mouse too

  • Damn seems like a great price !

  • +1

Do any of these mini pcs support razer egpu?

  • +5

glanced at image, thought this was another robot vac deal

    • +1

Well it could be, depending on how good your maker skills are ;)

  • +4

    the Mini PC Ryzen 9 6900HX (Up to 4.9GHz, 8C/16T) BOSGAME P3 Mini Desktop Computers DDR5 32GB RAM 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD, Mini PC Windows 11 Pro Dual 2.5G RJ45 LAN, USB-C 4.0 WiFi 6E USB 3.2 Gen2 is actually a good deal.

    • Link, price?

      • click on the "go to deal" button and then click on the p3 option.

      • Added to OP

    • yes, dual 2.5Gbit LAN would make a mean firewall box.

    • Kungfuman it looks a much better deal for the specs and money, thanks!

  • -1

not bad for about 600 bucks. you could hook up a egpu easy to this one.

    • +1

      I don’t think you can

      • -1

usb 4 includes thunderbolt 3 you can hook up any thunderbolt 3 device to any usb 4 port I have done this below I know it works. the mini pc has a FULL FEATURED usb 4 port so it support 40gbps, not to be confused with a standard usb 4 port which only does 20gbps

        • +13

We seriously need to send the leaders of the USB consortium to the hague for this shit

        • I'm a bit of a PC noob but is it possible in anyway to hook this up to a 4070 let's say? Would it be more cost effective to just build a PC with all the parts?

          • @Wavey12: you can hook up any graphics card with a egpu enclosure but you will not get the full performance out of the card that you would in a standard pc build. thunderbolt /usb 4 is a bottleneck at only 40gbps. But for most games you arent' going to notice with a 4070.

        • +1

Where do you see USB 4?

          I can only see 3.0 and 3.2.

Doesn't look like this supports USB 4, so it wouldn't support an external GPU

          • @cheesecactus: did you not click on the P3 option in the listing? go to the amazon link click on the P3 32+1tb option it will show you USB-C 4.0

  • +1

noob question and i've been out of the game for 20 years, dont know just enjoying life with old PC but then got family now with kids so pretty hard to do any gaming.

but with these mini PC's, are these spec wise good to run the latest PC games?
pretty crazy if so then you don't need the massive big PC's (of course if you were a full gamer then you'd get the gamer PCs and get the latest graphics card, ram etc to have the max performance)

    • +1

No, they will not run the latest 3D games as is, unless we are talking very low graphical settings, frame rate and resolution, which frankly is not really playing as they are intended to be experienced. You need to have a dedicated GPU ("graphics card" for those out of the game for 20 years!) to play anything decent, and I'm not sure if there are any of these tiny PCs with those (would be hard to cool in this form factor I imagine, even harder than a laptop). You could play 2D indie games and that sort of thing, but I get the sense that's not what you're asking

      • damm - so essentially its just a mini PC really just for low usage / browsing at home / youtube … maybe tailored for old / illiterate comp people then..

        • I have a Beelink SER6 Pro running Bazzite OS (essentially Steam OS). I recently finished Lies of P on it running at 1080p, 30fps at low settings but still looked great and very playable. Will also play Forza Horizon 4 and Cyberpunk albeit at the same 1080p, 30fps.

          • @MayhemVC: Price? Specs?

            • @JuryWheel: I can't seem to find my system anymore, however, you can get the SER6 (Ryzen 9 6900HX, 32 Gb RAM, 500 Gb SSD, AMD Radeon 680M) for $519USD ($765AUD) plus shipping. It's $899 on Amazon. I bought mine from Beelink direct.

AAA Gaming performance is shown here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuKJMmgqPU8
It's not a gaming beast but it performs WAY better than a tiny PC should and it's VERY quiet.
I also noticed significant performance improvements when running Bazzite OS rather than Windows.

        • +12

so essentially its just a mini PC really just for low usage / browsing at home / youtube … maybe tailored for old / illiterate comp people then..

          No. That's pretty unfair.

This is a mini PC really for just about any normal PC purposes except modern 3D gaming.

Going by its specs, it will comfortably handle nearly everything most users could throw at it.

But if you are a dedicated gamer (or perhaps software developer), then look elsewhere.

        • It's honestly an OP mini PC. Feels a bit wasteful to be honest.

          • +1

            @smartProverble: @ram4ram

It's honestly an OP mini PC.

OP? Sorry, I'm not familar with this acronym beyond 'original poster'.

Feels a bit wasteful to be honest.

            What is wasteful?

    • depends on the game i doubt you will get good performance out of cyberpunk or starfield. but you might get good performance on most other games at low to medium settings.

    • +1

No these PCs are far from gaming pc. Even AMD ones that has a 780m gpu which is one of the strongest still can only compete with gtx 1650 iirc.
These PCs are made to save space, to be portable and for old games + basic usages.

      • AMD ones with Ryzen 9, 780m and 32gigs ram is excellent performance for Valorant. That's the only game I play on PC and it runs smooth 150 plus fps at 1440p. Wanted to share if anyone else has the same use.

        • P3 has 680m not 780m

          • @oliman: Sorry. I was referring to the minisforum one.

            Limited-time deal: MINISFORUM Venus UM790 Pro Mini PC AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS up to 5.2 GHz 32 GB DDR5 1TB SSD with AMD Radeon 780M, 4X USB3.2, 2X USB4, 2xHDMI 2.1, 2X PCIe4.0, Wi-Fi 6E/BT5.3, RJ45 2.5 G https://amzn.asia/d/ivpRYaP

    • +6

yes its programmed to only infect the aggressive unemployed though.

    • +1

If you are worried, just reformat the PC and start fresh copy again…

      • +3

I did the same with Dell etc.. pc. All those Mcaffee and Norton pre-install softwares. To me, they are virus.

        • Ironically they're a great attack vector given the kernel hooks, etc

      • You can't reformat the built in firmware to remove the malware unfortunately. not saying this one does come with malware or trojans.

        • Which one does? Acemagic/Kamrui that hit the news originally don't.

        • Even with a programmer connected to the bios chip?

    • -1

Just spray it with some disinfectant and it should be all right.

Make sure to spray the USB port where you'll connect keyboard and mouse.

So many people don't know that one little trick how to protect from viruses.

  • +1

Another noob question as I haven't looked to buy a PC since 2012.. how would something like this go editing images in Lightroom or similar? The specs seem like it'd run fine.

    • +5

It would handle lightroom just fine…

Unless you're the type of photographer who applies presets to a batch of 1000 photos at once and then exports them in a batch. Then it'll still be fine, just slow. I doubt you're that photographer if you haven't bought a PC since 2012, though.

      • You're spot on. Thank you for your answer

    • +1

largely ok but these days adobe products now leverage the GPU acceleration for a lot of tasks particularly the "AI" stuff like denoise etc.

      • Thank you, I'm still running LR6 but will have a look at mini PC's that can take an egpu

  • Is the ethernet Intel?

    • The Bosgame Mini PCs with 2 x GbE are Realtek chipsets.

  • So to be clear could you plug an egpu into this?

    • not this one, other models with USB4 listed its possible

      • Yep, if the miniPC has USB4 or OCuLink then you can (usually) use an eGPU. However just be warned that not all PCI lanes will be used.
For example, most modern graphics cards utilise x16 lanes.
Current eGPU's run at x4 lanes… They support plugging your awesome RTX4090 in via a eGPU dock via USB4; but the transfer rate/bandwidth will be limited to x4…
Something like that! Google the rest lol

    Wukong here I come :D

  • Keen on a small form pc to connect up to the loungeroom tv to play Steam games (nothing particularly AAA) as well as fortnite/roblox/minecraft for the kids - any suggestions? 1080p at 40-60fps is fine by me…..

    • +1

You should be fine with this one.

    • +2

AMD mini PCs are far better for games

  • What does reimaging windows mean?

    • +12

I believe what it means is reinstalling Windows from scratch

You can extract the windows product key
      eg. https://www.techrepublic.com/article/find-windows-11-product…

Then create a Windows 11 Pro installation media (USB): https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11
      and reinstall Windows 11 Pro

      • Thanks for that

    • +3

They are suggesting you install Windows yourself, in case there is any malware etc pre-installed by some dodgy company. But OP must not know about WPBT (example article), because a clean install won't save you from it.

WPBT is used in the pre-built OEM industry, and is referred to as "the Vendor's Rootkit." Put simply, it is a script that makes Windows copy data from the BIOS to the System32 folder on the machine and execute it during Windows startup - every single time the system is booted.

There are some tools to check if your PC/mini-PC has a WPBT payload at the following link, and there are further instructions on how you can work around it if there is - https://github.com/Jamesits/dropWPBT?tab=readme-ov-file#how-…

      • +1

This box when you first power it up, doesn't have windows installed, just an install stub that requires downloading the win11 OS and installing from scratch.

I didn't notice any bloat or weird apps/services, seems to be a stock windows 11 install. The oem key is a win11 pro key.

  • Great!

    Brand: BOSGAME

    Oh yeah that brand…

    • +2

But but but, it's backed by a BOSGAME warranty, and "professional after sales team"!

But seriously, that's why I put the warning in the OP:

Unknown brand (to me) so strongly recommend reimaging Windows before use.

      • +1

Warranty good luck with that on mini pcs

    • 😂

  • +2

Got the P3 model instead of this P2…for spending $155 extra I am getting..

1 tb SSD instead of 512
4800mhz RAM speed instead of 3200mhz
DDR5 RAM instead of DDR4 RAM
about 10% to 20% better gaming performance and AMD FSR support
    Better power efficiency overall
Smaller Prpcessor size (1nm vs 6nm) which will help in low heating/performance
    Higher CPU clock speed

    • Definitely worth it if your budget can stretch to that price.

    • The gap between P3 and P2 now is only $70

  • Why can't i see the discounted price? I am confused! The P2 32 is 759!

    • Deal gone 😔

      • +1

        damn!

        • +3

          There's now discount coupon available

          Save $200 on P2 32G 512G = $559
          Save $200 on P3 32GB 1TB = $629

  • The p3 discount has also expired!?

    • With the coupon it's now basically the same as it was.

  • Would this run games smoothly?

    • +1

How long is a piece of string? It very much depends on the game. Old games without heavy graphics would be just fine. New AAA graphically intense games, it will struggle.

The AMD one (P3) will run games better, but still not as well as if you had a dedicated graphics card.

      • say for ea fc? im gonna pay extra get ryzen 9
