  • Under $500, nice! And the extra 1 pound for black is well worth it I think :)

    Rumour is these are set to drop further but maybe not until the new year. Strong competition from an arguably superior Nexus 10 will help that happen. I still like the Note 10.1 for the S-Pen and will be watching prices closely over the coming weeks.

    "This is also available in Black but is listed as 1 pound more "

    that's a lot of extra weight for a tablet haha

  • Why wouldnt you buy from Australia with Australian warranty;

    Then apply for the $100 cash back;

    Better still grab a $500 (+$50 bonus) DSE gift voucher, pay for your Note and then claim $100 cash back. Note 10 for $400!!

  • it is not really cash back. i guess it is a gift card as you cant change the gift card into cash money.

    Nexus 10. Faster with a significantly higher resolution, not to mention the latest android version. Worth the slight extra!

    • Worth the slight extra!

      Not if you want an active digitiser. Not everyone uses a tablet in the same fashion, and people would do well to stop suggesting run-of-the-mill alternatives to niche products.

  • Is there any issues with 3g or 4G version from UK/elsewhere
    . to work here in Australia

    • +1

      not sure about the 4G network they are using in UK

      but you can buy note 10.1 4G version from optus
      https://www.optus.com.au/shop/tablet/samsung/galaxynote101

      also keep in mind that warranty is really an important part for all electronic devices, buying it from overseas is cheaper however if there is any problem with your device from now or future you will then have to spend your time and patience and money to deal with it, either sending it back or find a store pay them to fix your device.

      • I called optus on friday and they said they dont have any info about 4G!
        Thanks, now hopefully someplace will sell it outright locally soon.

        • Just to answer your previous question, here is what i had found.
          http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks
          basically Australia and most country are using 1800 except the US and japan.
          US dont use 1800 at all…
          Europe use 1800 and Asia too.
          so if u want to buy the 4G from oversea i believe buy from anywhere except US and japan should be fine.
          but please do double check the frequency before going for it, as other country have multiple frequency.

          a question to ask: any idea if we can get the $100 gift card from Samsung if we buy the 4G online from optus?

        • thanks.
          as for the $100 giftcard, no, can't buy it online. must be from the specific stores from the t&c. Called parramatta they have no stock.

          I do want to use this giftcard offer but havent been able to due to no stock/higher price/too far from store/etc. I may just have to get it via kogan.
