good find
This pretty good/steady. My main problem with this is coming from asus and ubiquiti, the Deco is so cut down and you have to use the app to even do basic stuff.
I kinda knew it before I bought but I wasn't expecting it to be super cut down. If I had to do it over again, i'd probs just go with an asus or ubiquitiand pay a bit extra.
I went from an ubiquiti system to this. The ubiquiti did give more granular control but was a shit experience since last year. I use a controller running on docker on my server and didn't have a cloud key controller and that was tedious, then they updated the controller to auto control bit rates and that knocked out half my iot devices. Overriding the bit rate control was a temporary measure and it had to be overridden everyday.
Got so ticked off after a year of this crap I sold the system for less than half the price I got it for and got the tp link deco wifi 6E 3 pack system. It's simpler, it works and has all the functionality I need. Was the Deco model you got the XE75?
AXE5400 I think
How do these compare to the Google Nest WiFi Pro?
I've got a gen 1 Google WiFi setup with three pucks and it works fine for the house, but I'm thinking of upgrading at some point. Currently don't have anything physically wired except an NVR to one of the pucks. I want to attach a NAS at some point so want to make sure I can transfer stuff in and out fast enough. Some people say the range on the Nest Pro is pretty bad, but coming from the original Google WiFi pucks surely it couldn't be worse… could it?
The second hand market (fb marketplace and gumtree) have a wave of mesh systems going for very cheap. Picked up a 3 pack google wifi a year back for a freind for $80. been rock solid
