hot and crispy sucks… its basically a chicken strip sized piece

tastes better than a tiny tender

Good, leave it to the professionals

This is why we can't have good things…

Original KFC chicken is very bland and the texture is disgustingly oily. Fried chicken should have a crispy and crunchy texture with bit of spice in it and you can't change my mind (teddy vibes)

      • Is hot and crispy different than hot and spicy? (They look like small pieces, but is it same coating?)

I used to like the secret herbs and spices until hot and spicy. Now I don't like original at all.

        • +2

i thought h&c is boneless where h&s is standard chicken portions such as original chicken but with different coating ofcourse.

@kaleidoscope: I think you're right, but it's quite decieving. I only opened this post because it sounded too cheap to be true for H&S.

    • Most things at KFC are differently sizes nuggets.

What's the difference with hot & spicy?

      • bones 😹

      • instead of spicy, this is crispy

    • -1

Small pieces, may be KFC should stop exaggerating the ACTUAL-size.

Also, seems like their sizes across all products are getting smaller over the years?

    Get in my belly.

  • tomorrow only or starts tomorrow until TBC?

these are yum, i won't buy at regular price, but i definitiely buy it whenever it goes on sale.

  • +11

Come one ah , the pic is nothing like the final product. Need better standards for marketing pics here in Australia like how they have in Japan .

In reality you get small anaemic looking pieces.

    At least here in VIC

    • +5

Small but you get value in calories.

    • +2

sometimes these things are so small you would swear it broke off a regular piece of chicken

    • +2

Looks fine at my local KFC. FT Gully, VIC.

  • +5

These are usually really decent at my local. Sometimes the box is missing a piece because they decided one of the bits was big enough to be classed as 2.

    • +1

They are great at the couple of kfcs I frequent. Have received the double size pieces but never been shorted, despite the size.

  • Used to have Xtra crunchy briefly in nz, on normal chicken. Wasn't bad. The days of big tower burgers as well. Then found the BBQ "Tender Roast" flavour after looking that up. Strangely found the kfc bbq machines/boilers for sale in some shed in South Australia after that.

  • I found it a raffle as to how good these are . Sometimes they are great , sometimes totally inedible

      Had one today,
Good sized pieces and great value.

  • Is this limited by states or is it all states? I haven't been able to find anything on this deal coming up.

    • -1

Yeah, me too. I think it flashed up when I first opened the app but then disappeared

  • curious: how do people learn about upcoming kfc offers?

Anyone else notice, how ordinary the Potato and Gravy is now? There was an AMA a month ago with an employee, who said it had changed. They no longer use the excess from the pressure cleaner anymore. :(

    • +7

Yeah, they started making changes late last year, now its just packet mix gravy, water and oil.

      • +4

This is one of the darkest days in human history

      • /sadface

      • what about the normal gravy?

    • sorry noob q whats AMA stand for?

      • +1

It means "Ask Me Anything", typically done as someone with experience in an area letting people ask any question they want about that topic.

        • +1

thanks learn something new everyday from ozB :)

are these sold by weight or number of pieces, it's never consistent where I buy and it irritates me so I don't buy anymore.

    • +1

Of course no time to weigh and adjust for you, just by eye looking.

  • The Slab is basically KFC's equivalent of the McRib.
It sounds great in theory but is a poorly executed let-down.
I get one for a laugh every time they wheel it out.
I might try it with lettuce and corn chips this time around.

  • Is this app only?

    • +2

      Shouldn’t be, no
