  • This is an excellent shaver. Highly recommend.

  • Got one. Checking the reviews later. Quick search suggests lowest was in July 2023 at $280

I still have my Philips from 2011

    • +1

Me too. My 93xx handsets (1 for home, 1 for work) just won't die

    • +1

      Still have mine from 2000.

Though have replaced the battery inside.

  • Thanks, have been waiting for a good deal on this.

  • +1

Dang. Missed the cashback deal. I guess I can wait longer.

  • This or a Braun?
I have used Braun before, it wasn't bad.

    Do not buy this.
They stupidly redesigned the head (to make it look 'new') - and ruined it in the process.

This model has flat lugs that extend past the cutting edges. So you can't shave anything like close to under your nose, because the lugs get in the way.

Go on ebay and get new old stock of the previous model for $200.

    • Link please.

Search for "philips shaver 9000" on ebay com.au.

First result is $200. New old stock. Should be a cracking bargain.

And "Shaver powered by A.I that gives you incredible skin comfort".

A.I? Whatever drugs their marketing department are using, they're not helping.

    • If your hair dryer, hair straightener, bread toaster, air fryer not powered by AI. How are you even living?

      /sarcasm

      • Yes! Of course I am. AI is extra useful for A number 1 best quality product reviews for top products okay! Let's go! Super fun my top pick 5 stars wish I could give 6 stars!

        Would definitely purchase again.

    It's Braun Series 9 or it's nothin'.

I purchased Philips Senso Touch (their top of the line around 2011) and was using it until recently. The original shaving head was good, but then several years later they changed the shaving head design. So the new heads were much poorer both in performance and longevity. Also, some foil shavers (like Braun) are gentler on the skin compared to rotary. So, instead of buying new shaving heads I upgraded to Braun Series 9 several months ago, similar price to this, but it is genter on the skin and performance is better even compared to the Philips original shaving heads. Not coming back to Philips.

  • Anyone know if this is any good for shaving your head or is it just intended for facial hair? I'm nearly at that point where my hair has thinned enough I kinda just want to shave it so may need to invest in one soon. LOL

    • This aint it bud.

    • Get yourself a Anko head shaver from Kmart. Around $30 and shaves great for head and face. I also have a Philips shaver and I think the Anko is better.

the mid level and top entry shavers do the same thing at a fraction of the cost. paying 400% more doesn't give you 400% better performance.

i forgot to pack my top end shaver on my travels, and ended purchasing a cheaper one when i touched down.
Honestly, the performance is very close. if anything the top end was a little better, but not 400% better.

    YMMV

  • Best thing about these is the 90 Day Money Back Guarantee!

    • So use for 89 days and return? Just kidding.

  • No bluetooth and wifi?

    • There is Bluetooth, download app and it will sync and tell you if you are shaving correctly or not

    • No band 28. No deal.

  • I’m a once a week shaver, or once a month. This looks like it maxes out at 5 days… do I want a bargain and shave more often..

  • Got one at JB yesterday. Display model last one in stock. Paid $316.00 and applied for the $50 cashback.
Once you register your product on the Philips Australian site the warranty is 5 year's as Philips gives you a further 3 years extended warranty.

The 9000 series motors are faster than the lower series. Cutting is very similar. But speed makes all the difference. Compared to the current 5000 series, these are twice as fast.

These are long life products. Will outlast your phone. So worth the extra bucks, especially for a daily shaver.

  • I have the same one. Need to replace the entire head is is dropped and broke. Struggling to find a
Replacement for a whole Head. Better off getting a new one.

    Tempting

I prefer the older design where the beard trimmer locks into place. The floppy spring doesn't do it for me. On the plus side there was a version where you swapped the shaver head - which I avoided like the plague for fear of leaving it behind in the bathroom.
