Omg. That's amazing that officeworks are doing switch games. The more competition the better! Hopefully we can get price beat for even more discounts

    They sell video games now?

perfect for tech startup offices, i suppose?

  • It’s a ripper game, but I found it a lot harder than BOTW. Still, it’s an awesome ‘cozy’ game.. just difficult.

    • Edit - Also, super random that OW is selling Nintendo games, I guess this is targeted at the discerning office worker who wants quality entertainment whilst they dodge work!

Looks like I'll be playing this game, as soon as i start and finish BOTW one day. Bloody ozbargains, you did it again.

Don't bother. Open world Zelda ruins the brilliant item based puzzle progression and area unlocks from older games. And weapon durability is so broken you're either fast tracking to get the master sword or you've got to find every bloody korok. BOTW is a real mess if anyone is being honest (rare), not sure if they fixed any of that in TOTK.

      • -2

agree, not sure why you got negged though
i stopped botw after 2nd sword upgrade, maybe i just suck

        • -2

Oh I expected to get negged. No biggie

I didn't like the weapon durability thing in BOTW at first but I guess it's just to stop people from continually using the one strongest weapon you have and then just stop using anything else once you get the master sword and the hylian shield. I still find a it a bit tedious having to continually find weapons after my current one breaks but I can sort of see the point behind it.

And you definitely don't need to find every korok - apparently there are 900 korok seeds in the game and I've only collected just over a third of them; and I've maxed out my sword and bow slot and don't find the need to max out my shield slot.

I still think Skyrim, RDR and GTA games to be the gold standard in open world games; but I am really enjoying BOTW too despite the very different playing style and mechanics that I'm used to.

        • Having durability is fine but they just took it way too far. You can't even finish a fight against one basic enemy without going through 3+ crap weapons sometimes. You don't find enough weapons for that.

I almost missed the korok quest giver entirely. I'm not sure if that's possible but it seems that way. If I recall he was just outside some not clearly important town (because it's early on and you don't know what the game defines as "big and important" yet) and not easy to see. The game would be the biggest chore without those seeds. But the rate you get them is too slow.

Effectively early game stinks, mid game is about right and end game is too easy (and a chore)

I think the whole game becomes a micromanagement game instead of exploration and puzzles. I'm my mind, that's not real Zelda.

          • @justtoreply: I understand your point of view and I tend to agree that the early part of the game was kind of confusing and took me a while to get used to. Even now as I'm at the home stretch, I am still not 100% used to the battle system and having to chop and change weapons mid fight because of durability.

There are still a lot of puzzle elements in the game when you find a shrine or even going through a shrine quest - I really enjoy that part of the game. But I think Nintendo really put a lot more emphasis on the exploration part in this game than the puzzles; it is a bit tedious to go up pretty much every mountain peak and look up every single tree just to find those damned korok seeds.

But I am still enjoying the game and have put in a lot of hours going through this thing!

@justtoreply: hmm… maybe open world is not for you. seems like you get lost quite easily, need a caregiver to take you along the journey i guess

      • And weapon durability is so broken you're either fast tracking to get the master sword or you've got to find every bloody korok.

BOTW weapon durability is poor, but they're literally everywhere. TOTK does fix this with fuse

BOTW is a real mess if anyone is being honest (rare)

        why would people be dishonest?

        • Some things are either cool to hate, or not cool to hate. Not that I work that way, but others do

          • @justtoreply:

            not cool to hate

so you think people who rave about the game just do it because it's supposedly too cool to hate? and all those nerds on reddit who keep the sub extremely active considering it's a single player game, just do because it's 'trendy' not because they genuinely enjoy the game 🤔🤔🤔🤔

            • @aorusozbarg: I think they are too resistant to see the flaws in the game because it's considered uncool to hate on Zelda.

You're quite resistant too. You don't seem to want to pause and think like kevmev12 does.

But whatever. You do you. Just don't be rude. I'm done with explaining, I've put enough time into this now.

    Thanks for sharing.

Okay, now, I just need a switch.

    • +1

      Technically, no.

Now that you've bought the game, you can legally (and ethically, of course) emulate it on PC!

  • officework gaming, what a combo

Weird they are stocking this in general, but even weirder that they are selling the OLED for $10 less then the standard switch

  • Hmm, anyone know if there's any restrictions on items like this for 2-Hour delivery?
I should meet all the criteria but it's still saying ineligible =(

    • +1

Yes that’s correct because there is no stock in store.

If it’s only online (which this product is) (from their warehouse) it doesn’t pass for 2 hour delivery. Only option is to get sent to a store close to you which will be sent in 2 business days.

  • Saying 'Unavailable Online' now

  • Am I able to claim this as a tax deduction?

    • Buy this with 10 other small items for a long receipt.
