Saw this in freepoints and though its worth posting it
Similar to the deal back in June https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/852973

Please beware that:

  • Limit of five $50 or $100 cards per day
  • Limit of two $25-500 variable load cards per day

Exceeding the purchase limit will earn no bonus rewards points

For each variable Vanilla Visa gift card you buy loaded with $500, you’re essentially paying $7.95 (the purchase fee) to earn $25 worth of Everyday Rewards Dollars (or 2,500 Qantas points):

Gift Card Purchase Fee EDR Dollars Earned Profit/Loss
$50 $5.95 $2.50 -$3.45
$100 $5.95 $5.00 -$0.95
$25-500 (loaded with $500) $7.95 $25.00 $17.05

  • Can I pay by using Groceries or Supermarket gift card?

I feel the purchase fee almost killed it…. Thanks OP tho

the only sweet spot is the $20-$500 variable card, and pick the max $500 loads
which give you 5000 Everyday rewards points (worth $25)
factoring the card purchasing fee, you have a net profit of $17.05

    • hah I guess ($500) would be definitely gone at 1st day in most stores.

Max 3.41% off, what a joke, meh

    • For a prepaid debit card? That's pretty decent. Also canbe used to pay debts etc while racking up QFF points.

      • the bottom line is 5% off, Coles Prepaid MasterCard $100 + $5 fee with bous 2000 fb pts
        or this
which I am not interested in.
I only bulk buy at 7.5% off

        • for some people Qantas points values more than Velocity points
$16 for 5000 qantas points isn't a bad deal IMO
especially these points also count towards the 350,000 point club plus requirements

          • @littlesoldier: This is the way.
Sydney to Alice Springs is 18,000 plus taxes of $62..or about $450 in cash usually.
            This would cost approx $70 +$62 taxes = $132!
Works best on expensive cash destinations.
