How's this compare to the recent lubluelu deals?

    • Lubluelu is better value for money as this is ~$120 dearer for not much more functionality

      • +1

Yeah I'm quite impressed with the lubluelu so far

        • I have had an older Ecovacs and since bought the Lulbluelu on one of the Amazon sales. The Ecovacs lost its maps and had to remap regularly and often got stuck or lost. The Lubluelu has not had a blip in the 6 months I have had it. Much less frustration overall.

The fact this has LiDAR for this price is very good

  • Tons of people in the robot vacuum cleaner Reddit sub have experienced prolonged issues with the cloud service forgetting their maps, robots getting lost in the house etc a while back. One of my friends experienced those issues and found it really frustrating.

Not sure if those issues were simply related to their cloud service or if there was a broader issue with their app/software, but hopefully it has been resolved.

    • It still forgets em :(

  • +1

I don't recommend it. My Roborock S5 is still going strong after 7 years with the battery replacment. This one died within 3 years with the right wheel not moving at all.

It also keeps forgetting the map. Horrible experience with this one.

  • This being version 2.0 maybe they have fix the issues.

  • +1

As commented above, Ecovacs tend to have mapping issues, even the high-end ones. Most frustrating issue is that you can't add a room to an existing map, you must re-map the whole house which can take over an hour in a 4 bedroom house. Then if you go and move a large piece of furniture such as a bed, it won't vacuum the area where the bed was, necessitating another full re-mapping. Yes there's hacks to make it work but they require manually dragging cleaning areas which is not as convenient as just telling it to clean the rooms you want cleaned. Lubluelu and Roborock don't have these issues.

  • Is this Deebot 2.0 or Deebot 2.0 plus. I missed out on the Aldi sale last time when Deebot 2.0 plus was on sale for $500.
Now this is for $349 but not sure if this is plus version, as per ecovacs website the deebot 2.0 doesn't have an auto empty station feature included

    • This is not the plus. Plus is not mentioned in the name of the product.

      • Yes agreed , so this doesn't include the Auto empty station which was included previously in the plus version

  • Got one but its going back. It only makes it like 15 minutes before it gets stuck on something like furniture, or finds a cord hidden down the back of the TV console. Its meant to be automatic but it cant function without a human looking after it. I even put all the chairs on the dinner table and put a barrier around some other furniture and it only made it 6 minutes before it found some way to get stuck and started yelling for help.

    • We were looking at getting this one as our Ecovac Deebot U2 was returned due to another wheel fault. But ended up getting the Lubluelu SL60PLUS pack from Amazon for $379.98 which comes with the auto emptying base.

      • Thats, that sounds like a good deal. But I have decided that if I want a robot vac which actually works then it needs to have obstacle avoidance. There is no point buying one with out unless you live in a "male living space".

        • There is no point buying one with out unless you live in a "male living space".

What does that even mean? My old Roborock S5 doesn't have any object avoidance, and it can get stuck if I leave my office chair in a particular location, but all that's required to have it work fine is to not have cables in the floor. I'm yet to have any dramas from boxes, shoes, books and other random stuff that's been on the floor during a vacuum session.

Perhaps there are real differences in the programming of these robots, where the more intelligent ones are more able to extricate themselves from tight spots? I've never really looked into it.

That said, if you do have kids or pets that are likely to leave a mess on the floor, perhaps a machine with object avoidance is necessary.
