I don't care what people say about Amazon. I do what's best for me an d makes my life easier/better and amazon prime is fantastic convenience and worth it.

    • +4

Definitely! Prime membership is totally worth it, OnePass is trash.

      • is one trash for one yr for $5-10 or whatever that one ozbargain deal was worth it tho.

i should've got it i reckon but missed it

      • +1

        5x flybuy is good though.

        • I think thats for click n collect only on onepass

          • @Candeal: No. online and instore as well.

      • +1

Assuming you can get the annual membership for $20 or less, I think it's worth it just for not having to physically step into a Kmart store.

    • What do you buy on Amazon that makes it worth it? Groceries mainly? I have found when I need random bits and bobs Amazon is often grossly overpriced compared to what you can get at a local shop.

      • +1

I suppose it depends what you buy, but I often find great deals on amazon for my needs, mostly computer/electronics bits and bobs.

I do also buy grocery stuff sometimes.

    • I hope you never have issues in the future with companies inflating prices having a monopoly over the market.

      • +1

The problem is we're already passed that, coles, woolies, kmart, target and etc. already have the monopoly and are inflating prices, as I said, I look out for me and my pocket, I don't care what the company does because consumers always get screwed somehow.

  • Oh nice.

  • +3

    we need this for WA

    • Ikr we never get anything good. It’s prob because they have all the storage facilities over there so it makes sense

      • +1

we get a warehouse here in perth. so it is doable

  • +1

ACT always has one day delivery if not during busy period (like Prime Day) so not so sure if this is new news

  • +4

I love Amazon Prime. I use it daily. But it ain't 'FREE'. The whole Prime FREE One-Day Delivery is not accurate. Members must pay a $79 annual charge, or $9.99 per month. Yes, the one-day delivery is fantastic, but you're paying for the privilege.

  • +8

two subscriptions i dont ever see my self cancelling from:

    -amazon prime
    -youtube premium

    • +13

      India YouTube premium *

    • +2

      Bro, don't tell them…

    • +2

      same.

Amazon is $10/month and YouTube Premium family is ~$3.50/month (via VPN). Shared between 1 family (3 households) connected via tailscale so we all appear to be in the same place.

Those 3 households have 4G data SIMs with optus and share data with a couple of regular voice SIM's for a 600GB data pool. Cost $139/month.

Amazon, YT and Internet for 3 households, plus 2 cellular plans with heaps of data for the parents to use while travelling for just over $150/month is great value.

      • Damn i thought they blocked the loophole via vpn, also you need a local bank account right

    • +3

      me also Costco

    • As for YouTube Premium, I use an "alternative" method. I use SmartTubeNext on my Amazon Fire TV Stick, and YouTube Revanced on my phone.

    • +1

I don't understand the hype around YouTube Premium. I have an adblocker (ublock origin) and don't have any ads on my computer (where I consume 90% of the videos).

The other benefits seems pretty low (in-picture play, download offline, etc…) Maybe only the 60FPS enhanced bitrate might be a good plus,

Whereas Prime, I was happy when it was $59 per year, but now at 79 it does not make sense for me, I'll pay one month here and there for the prime day / black friday week, but that's it. I don't need things in one day, I can wait two. I won't make 10 orders (under $59) x $7.9 delivery in one year, so does not worth it. (for my case)

      • Mainly for youtube music to play in the car and at home (on devices/not computers)

  • +2

    Same day delivery or riot.

  • Im confused is this new? I thought Canberra has had next day delivery for years now as long as you order before lunch time or something?

    • Old news for us, we have been having next day delivery afaik

  • What's the best timing and bargain to join Amazon Prime member? Haven't used it to buy things in Australia yet, but the comments above really attracts me to join.

  • -3

I call BS have tried this and comes the next day. I'm thinking you have to order early in the morning to get same day.

    • +3

It's one day delivery, not same day delivery, very different things.

    • +1

      One day. Not same day.

  • +3

Deliveries in my area changed to Aramex. I can't even expect 7 day delivery.

    • +5

Deliveries to my area recently changed to non-existent.

  • +1

This has been around for some time.

  • -1

I came here thinking this was same day delivery too. What is so special about next day delivery? There has always been a check-mark at the top of the page allowing filtering to one day delivery.

edit: ohhhhhh they have expanded it to some regional towns. Sorry.

  • My experiences with their same day delivery, Most of time their warehouse will screwed up and become multiple days later or never ever arrive delivery.

  • +1

love Amazon, but recently they have limited a lot of the items that I buy regularly to be sent to my home address. If I change it closer to city postcodes it's purchasable to that address. does anyone know what's changed?. I live in the Adelaide Hills.

  • What's strange is Adelaide is definitely showing one day delivery and I've used it numerous times, but I don't see them list it anywhere for post codes supported

  • -1

More often than not, it ends up being 2-3 days, and I'm in the correct postcode.

  • WA is missed again

  • Same/one day for me comes by aramex which always arrives at 8pm.
Rest of my amazon deliveries at a total of 8 now which I’ve yet to receive since moving from dragonfly to flex drivers.

Sadly I can’t even use amazon anymore :((

  • Good to see Gold Coast in the list

  • PSA: It appears that in parts of Australia that don't have Prime free same day delivery it is more
expensive to order same day delivery with a Prime subscription than without it (unless it is for only one item).

For those with Prime subscriptions it charges $9.99 per item, for non-prime $12.99 per order for same day delivery.

The latter appears to be the correct charge from their info page (which talks in terms of orders and not items): https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/help/customer/display.html?node…

I just had the price increase from $82.56 including same day delivery to $89.54 plus the prime subscription charge ($9.99 p/m) when trying to save a few dollars. I got chat to cancel Prime and finished order with lower price.
