Watch Every Match on Ashe, Grandstand & Armstrong Stadium of US Open Free @ TVNZ+ (VPN/DNS Required)

130

Howdy. Looking to watch some other matches from the US Open? Well, Nine and Nine Now only show 1 match at a time. If you want to watch any other matches you'll have to subscribe to Stan (free trial available) & Stan Sport ($15/month).

We don't have to travel far as our Kiwi cuzs are showing a good chunk of the matches on TVNZ for free. Just need a VPN. I'm using Getflix VPN however Getflix does have a TVNZ region in their DNS unblocking HOWEVER you won't be able to access 9Now when this is on, so might be easier to switch on the VPN.

All you need to do is:

  • Register for an account (No VPN req.)
  • Set your VPN for New Zealand (I'm using Getflix but Tunnelbear, VPN Unlimited etc are other options) or DNS region to TVNZ when watching.
  • Chur.

So as of posting:

  • 9Now has Alcarez vs. Tu match (1 sided match).
  • Nothing on TV (e.g. Nine, GEM). 9GO
  • TVNZ is currently showing Andreescu vs. Paolini, Raducanu vs. Kenin.

  • Wimbledon, you can use the BBC iPlayer with a VPN however found the connection not very stable with my VPN.

Great post! I was doing this yesterday to watch the Djokovic and Tiafoe matches. One minor correction regarding 9's TV coverage is that they are actually showing one match at a time on broadcast TV. Alcaraz vs Tu is on right now on 9Go.

    • Ah good to know. I didn't try 9GO, not sure what channel # it is. Ha, got to go find it now.

      • Yeah, they usually always show matches from the other three slams on 9Gem. No idea why they're using 9Go for the US Open when Gem is currently showing old TV shows and infomercials. Luckily 9Go has recently been upgraded to HD. It's channel 99 for me in Brisbane.

  • Sounds appealing as the Nine coverage is often the definition of one sided. You'd think there was nobody in the tournament other than "Aussies" and a few others.

Presenters seem contractually obliged to use that word as often as possible.

    • It was interesting seeing the French Open coverage and they did a similar thing showing just the French players in the early rounds. When I was in the US last year, the TV coverage was mostly US players so does seem like a common thing around the world.

  • Chur bro

Edit: Oops. Auto correct. VPN was still set to New Zealand. Cheers mate*

  • Stan currently does not have free trial available. They removed it before the Olympics.

  • VPN Unlimited doesn't work for me. Tunnelbear has banned my IP for some reason. Not having much luck…

    • Getflix definitely works. Can get a trial sign-up I think.

  • You might also need to update your date and time if you're using a VPN and app on your phone. Works well when you align your phone to the NZ timezone.
