  • Can you explain with steps how to redeem this on the Xbox store?

    • +1

I just redeemed the gift card and made the purchase on my xbox with region set to turkey, the sub shows up on my pc too

  • +2

They want $24/m for access to that? You can get switch online for a year for $30

    • +4

And what new release games do you get with Switch Online?

      • +4

a better comparison might be game pass, and damn… im not even on the Ubi hate train but Ubi+ is wayyyyy overpriced

        • +1

It is pretty expensive, but still worth signing up for a month if Ubi actually releases a good game one day. Too bad the new star wars game looks boring.

        • Ubi+ Premium is actually pretty awesome! You get the Special Editions of new games day one. Cancel anytime. So assuming youc an finish Star Wars Outlaws in a month, you're only paying $23.95 for the special edition (normally worth $130 or so?). I normally buy disc games for the cheapest price then trade in as quick as I can to make $40+ back, but the value of this even beats that.

Ass Creed Shadows out in a couple months too, but I've got so much fatigue from that series now…

  • +11

I'm just gonna copy and paste my last comment regarding this abomination; yes even at 12.95 it's still too much.

"NAHHH F THAT. A single sh*t publisher known for releasing half baked AAA games charging more than XboxUP and Playstation plus Deluxe.

This mentality is why we have so many subscriptions models.

The gall of Ubisoft to think they can charge more than anyone else for only their catalogue. F THAT with a CAPITAL F.

Don't support this crap. It's the reason why Samsung thinks they can charge a subscription for their Buds3 Pro earbuds features. SMH"

    • +1

Everyone's looking at subscriptions as easy revenue. Ubisoft also doesn't historically have great support for games after the initial release.

      • Denuvo antipiracy software cripples performance. For that reason alone (though there are plenty more) Ubisoft deserves to suffer and fail.

  • i reckon most ubisoft games under $30 within the first year
then reduce low as $5-15 within the following year
might be worth considering it then

  • Outlaws isn't even worth $12.95.

    • Well.. settle down, it’s not that bad.

  • The real deal is getting 300 TRY for around 13 AUD. I usually pay around 15, 14 if I'm lucky.

    • get paycell or moneypay (now called just Money).
They don't require an ID for anonymous accounts, and you will be limited to 2750 TRY / month.
Just need a turkish phone number to register. You can get one from smspool.
Use Revolut / Zen or Remitly to top up the card.

Card will work on PSN / Xbox

      • Which ones better and are they both in English? Have you tested the cards on Xbox PC App or website? I don't have an xbox console or psn.

      • Interesting. I'll definitely check it out.

That being said, I don't know if I'll actually bother doing it to take 14 down to 13, but I'll definitely have a squizz, cheers! I still have a Wise card somewhere, but I think they are long since killed for this.

      • Paycell didn't work with smspool - with multiple numbers it says "we block the number when we detect a change in operator, call service desk to unblock your account".

        Anyone else have better luck?

EDIT: Signing up via app and vpn seemed to work rather than website.

      • What method do you use to top up the Paycell card via Revolut?

        • revolut => payment => new => card recipient
add your paycell card number and you're good.
          Will receive money almost immediately.

Although, not sure if you can still buy ubisoft+ via your browser now. MS has been blocking that method since Tuesday. With a region error message when you try to buy anything in the turkish store on your PC.
But it still works directly on your console. Just need to go in the console settings and change the region to Turkey.

          • @alusawa: Hmm, I don't appear to have "card recipient" as an option within the app.

I click "Payments" in the bottom middle, I click the "+" in the top right to open "New Transfer", then the options are:
Revolut friend, Bank recipient, Group, Send international, Create a payment link, donate to charity.

Unfortunately send international and bank recipient both end up requiring a "BIC/Swift" code which paycell doesn't show an option for.

Sometimes Microsoft blocks certain VPNs, could be worth trying with a different VPN if you haven't already?

            • @snoopydoop: zen.com app also has the transfer to a card option.
              so you can try that

or use Remitly instead. You won't have fees for the 1st transfer. And they normally don't check ID either for the 1st time.

As for MS, it's not a problem with VPN or the usual shadowban. Check reddit, everyone has that issue since Tuesday. Only buying via console still works

              • @alusawa: Ahh that's a shame!

Damn, I think I might have to give it a miss given I've got a slew of similar cards like revolut, wise, etc.

Hopefully another transfer method pops up that's relatively simple

                • @snoopydoop: you can do a normal bank transfer too if you prefer. But it will take longer.

On paycell, do top up money => top up from bank account => VakifBank should work (it works fine on Ininal)
On Revolut : That's the bank transfer to a company option. Use the infos from Paycell
Use the iban checker from iban.com to get the BIC/Swift code and bank address
And don't forget to use the code Paycell gives you in the transfer description on Revolut

  • Does anyone have an issue where about 2 seconds after i click buy it pops up with wrong region. I can't even select a payment method.

    • I deleted my addresses set to turkey then vpn. Go to the game it ask for an address i put one in then says wrong area wrong region.

    • +1

There's been plenty of people who've had "shadow bans" which are where they basically stop you from buying with whatever the last mismatched region currency was when you use multiple ones. For the most part, these seem to last only 5 to 7 days though so maybe try again in a week's time? Terrible advice I know.

That being said, I got the error too, with two different VPNs yesterday where before I'd never got an error. Threw on the Xbox itself, swapped to Turkey region, and everything went through fine no VPN required so maybe try that if you don't want to wait a week to find out hey.

    • I get that too when using a web browser. I didn't have this issue a month ago so it seems new and I don't have a console to use instead.

I will try again in a week. If I don't report back, assume it's still not working. If anyone finds a workaround, please let us know.

      • Think they changed it. Got 800TRY stuck. Was working using browser a month ago. After that stopped worked on console changing region but that also stopped. Waiting for a solution, or just thank you for the time it worked :)

        • Yeah. It's been a good run. Wanted to get FINAL FANTASY XV WINDOWS EDITION @ 63.5 TRY (a$2.88) and NieR:Automata BECOME AS GODS Edition @ 84 TRY (a$3.81). But no dice.

The web site was updated to prevent these purchases. Also the Xbox and Microsoft Store apps were also updated. I tried an older version of these apps but, unfortunately, they won't open without the update.

Unless these deep discounts return, I won't be buying more from Microsoft. I would rather buy from Steam because of the Steam Families feature so I can share my games with family.

The amount of time and effort some will make to save a couple of dollars is hillarious. How about invest that some amount of energy to increase your income and you wont need to bother with loose change.

    • +3

Dunno why your on oz bargain. Thats the whole point of this site.

    • Last night I bought the game "The Forgotten City", a friend has been trying to get me to play it for ages. It's 50 something bucks in Australia so I didn't bother. Turkey was about 4 or 5 and I still waited for a sale, got it yesterday for about a buck fifty.

I already had the Turkish credit loaded, all I had to do was swap regions on my Xbox, reboot it, go to the store, pay the Turkish price, and then swap back to Aussie region. No VPN, no bullshit. Took like a minute total from normal Aussie, to rebooted Turkey, to buy the game, and reboot back to Aussie.

If 50 bucks isn't worth a minute of your time, then damn, you a billionaire.

      • Oh k maybe i can try that. Change on my xbox. I been having troubles with wrong region on web. Thanks

      • Having issues tonight. They might have cracked down. Was working fine 2 days ago.

        • On console or on computer/phone?

          • @TheDukeOfNukem: Phone and computer. Nord VPN and HMA.

            • @Mikael: Seems to be happening quite a bit, did you try on the console? No VPN needed for me, just swapped the thing to Turkey and hit buy. Much easier, I have 2 child accounts on my profile and every time I swap my actual account to Turkey I have to remove permissions for them as the settings in the country are different or something, and then every time they go to play a game I have to do the bollocks little sign in thing again. Yes, I know, first world problems, but still, poopoo.

              • @TheDukeOfNukem: Got my original account on Xbox that got 24month ultimate left. Got the turkey account on as main as well..so you saying log on with that. Store and buy without VPN? Swapped where or just sign in with turkey account?
Before today I just used VPN. Bought using my turkey. Used that account on Xbox to download and all profiles could play it. Hopefully they haven't blocked it as got 1500 try there. Also first world problems lol. Might wait a day or so.

                • +1

@Mikael: So go to the Xbox console settings, go to language and location (or whatever similar name it's actually called), pick Turkey. The machine will reboot, sign in as whichever account has the Turkish $$$ on it, and go buy whatever you want. Worked fine for me, and I have only ever used one single account for all of this, for over a decade, I've still got 2 US cents left over from about 6 years ago, 400 odd Turkish, and a couple bucks Aussie from MS Rewards kicking around.

                  • @TheDukeOfNukem: Thanks, gonna give it a go tomorrow.

                    • @Mikael: @TheDukeOfNukem Worked. Thanks.

                      • @Mikael: Glad it worked … not going for me at the moment, starting to think I should smash out the remaining 400 odd I have left next time it lets me and just be done with Turkey, I've bought a shitload of things already and all the new stuff isn't anywhere near what it used to be.

Don't suppose any method is still working for you?

                        • @TheDukeOfNukem: I got 800 left. Got few games last week. Might drain the account when good deals on.

                          • @Mikael: Dude. If you can, I would spend it.

I've been faffing around on about a dozen VPNs and settings and devices and so on and not one works.

Reading around Reddit and the usual places says that they're killing this shit hard and for everyone. September 30, though I didn't personally see confirmation, there were many saying it, whatever your region is, it will stay forever, sounds like theyre nixing the account region swapping and VPNing in one hit.

I don't have 800 but I have about 400 I wouldn't have minded spending so if you find a way, do hook a brother up please!

                            • @TheDukeOfNukem: Might see tonight if anything i want. Just weiry of using same Xbox as main account with 2 years ultimate left. Let you know how it goes when I do.

                              • @Mikael: @TheDukeOfNukem No luck. Might hold and see if someone gets around it so I can use my last try

                                • @Mikael: Shit.

I even bought a Turkish prepaid Mastercard (to be fair, it was like a buck fifty and included almost a dollar of TRY as well), and that didn't help, some said it did, some either got lucky or lied.

If and when I get a way back in, I'll hit you back on here!

                                  • @TheDukeOfNukem: the only thing that currently works is to create a totally new account. But you need to use a vpn to : buy / link the account to your console / Download and play games.
If you don't, then the region error appears again after 48h or so.

No way to transfer your money blocked on your regular account to the new one.

I have done that for a little more than a week now, and the new account is still fine. Using a Turkish card instead of giftcards though. Don't want to take the risk of having money blocked on the account if the error happens again.

                                    • @alusawa: Thanks for the info, brother.

Looks like we might be SOL, at least for the time being.

I already have an Argentinian account for Dev Mode from forever ago, but everything else has been done on my own main account. I never got into buying stuff on the Turkey store until very recently, so I bought a lot of stuff, but missed out on even more. What I have done for years is buy codes on Eneba from Turkey and use those on my main account. Remains to be seen how that will pan out, but if they get rid of that, that will be the end of an era for me.

Obviously since the prices went up there, and Brazil, and Argentina, there's been less bargains to be had, but the one silver lining of the crack down is if this goes ahead, maybe they can go back to having games for prices somewhat affordable to people actually living there.

And then they can sell them as codes on Eneba to me again lmao. But nah, the idea that this crackdown will lead to Xbox lowering prices back to how they used to be is a joke, they should, since the only reason they went up is because of people doing this trickery, and if that's mostly gone, then, well, why else would you keep the prices up? I do feel for the people genuinely living there though, plenty of countries also straight up don't have an Xbox store in their region so I wonder how all this will go for them. Big poo poo for everyone.

                                      • @TheDukeOfNukem: What if you added Turkey credit to your MS account and then the auto renew for Ubisoft+ kicks in for the next month?

Will it just continue to work and debit your gift card credit applied?

                                        • +1

@rysith: I don't personally know, I never used Ubi or any other sub service with the Turkey method.

BUT in my Googling and commenting and whatnot over the last week, one dude confirmed his Fortnite Crew sub auto renewed despite him not being able to make new purchases. So, you should be right to renew, but don't know how you'd go signing up for a new sub.

Edgy weeb Ubisoft haters today aren’t we?

    • For good reason.

  • +1

Does Ubisoft really think they can charge more than Gamepass and EA access? LOL they really are out of touch.

    • yes, they are kidding themselves… BUT its not exactly the same model, you do get all DLCs and bonuses on ubi+
so the outlaws version you play with for $24 a month is the $180 version (again lol).

Worth a month, but its no gamepass replacement.
