  • Why something like this instead of a 3-way mesh router (like Eero)?

      • Why do you need 10Gbit WiFi for a NAS?

A 10G switch (2x SFP+) is like $80 on AliExpress, is $900 really worth it to save plugging in a cord the one time you need to move large amounts of data?

Also, Xiaomi has an alternative for ~$350

    • Coz it's a Gaming router.

Easier to set up. Has RGB which equals more speed. 8 antennas mean 8 times less latency. It’s also been proven that spider shaped routers mean better penetration through walls including brick and steel.

  • This Ultrafast WiFi 6E (802.11ax) quad-band WiFi router that boosts speeds up to 16000 Mbps pair excellent with nbn Home Ultrafast 750-1000/50-100

    Needs more antennas.

    Crab rave 🦀

I assumed the crossover between those who will spend $1k on a router and who will use a consumer grade router is quite small but maybe I'm wrong.

Holy Jesus, $1k for a router?! You could get a sparkie in for a few hours to run cat 7 cable across a few rooms plus a 2.5GbE switch for that.

Agreed. A total rip off for the vast majority.

    • Yeah but VR without wires is why I need a good wireless connection.
Same reason I need a wired connection.
      I have both and I didn't spend $1000

    • That's actually an good point re hardwiring the house.
No way vast majority of users would notice the apparent benefits of this router compared to something a fraction of the price.
Why do you need 10G WAN? You're not a commercial data centre

  • "I have a quad-band gaming router, do you?"

"I sleep in a big bed with $900."

  • Any RGB?
