The black version is ATL on Amazon, according to the Camels (but has been cheaper elsewhere in the past). White version ATL is $98, but unfortunately is still $168 for now.
[Update] Amazon limited time deal for even cheaper now, ATL: $164.86

If I were you and did not have an urgent need for the mouse, I'd wait, seems a bit silly that there's almost a $100 price difference based on colours alone
168 for white looks like 3rd lowest price drop

But this black is ATL
Would this be better than my razer basilisk?
I hate synapse
they all perform the same. the shape and how you feel about it is what matters
Not really. Razer mice are terrible quality thesedays, I've gone to logitech and never looked back. G502 is going strong 5 years and counting.
Before that, it was a cycle of replacing razer mice every 18-24 months because they'd all develop issues.
Same exact situayion for me, I did love my Razer Naga though, felt amazing for WoW and heroes like Meepo in Dota
lol absolutely not true, maybe 4 years ago
@abjsdhasehasee: Bought a nephew a deathadder 12 months ago and it was triple clicking and had a bugged scroll wheel 6 months later.
So yeah actually it is true.
@Wafflel: so a 4 year old mouse?
I have had the opposite experience with logitech mice. Every single one I've owned have developed double clicking on the left button.
Razer viper I've owned for 4 years which has optical switches, no double clicking. Had classic deathadders with old style switches that developed double clicking but repaired them until they died in other ways.
As for the software, you only need to install it once to setup the mouse the way you want, save it to the onboard memory and uninstall it. You don't even need to have an account anymore.
Currently using viper v3 wired at home and work. Work one has been going for 2 years with no issues.
@flagger: fixed with some new logi mouses with opticals
I got the basilisk and returned it for this one. Logitech was much better for me but it's very small difference. the razer would do this weird clutch noise when it unlock the free spinning and I just couldnt get used to it.
Functionally its pretty flawless and it has optical trigger switches on the main buttons so they should never wear out or suffer multi trigger.
If battery goes flat you can quickly plug the USB in and keep going with a wired mouse.
Whether you like the hand ergonomics is a personal thing. I find it very palm controlled rather than fingertip controlled so dont love that. But still the goto for games which need heaps of buttons. For office use I like the smaller M720 and have better precission with that shape.
What wireless adaptor do these use: Unify, Bolt, something else?
I think its unique bound to the mouse. It comes with a decent USBC cable with C to A adaptor and is intended to sit on the desk 6 inches from the mousepad, unplug it to charge from that same cable.
I dont think it supports Bluetooth option either, so not really intended as a laptop bag mouse.
It's the LIGHTSPEED dongle/interface (the ones they don't sell separately unless you go unofficial).
Its a sick mouse, especially when combined with the Powerplay charging pad. Works like a charm, no need to recharge again.
Switched from Razer lineup to Logitech and find it being better quality overall.
Does this need monthly subscriptions?
not yet. just don't update
JB Hi-Fi online chat happily matched this for me, if anyone is interested in that route (I have gift cards).
Haven't decided if I'm committing yet, though. Already have a G502 LIGHTSPEED but I've had it for over 4 and a half years at this point.
Ah, bugger, got JB to price match Amazon at $190 on the weekend, which I was happy with it;s a great mouse. I've just upgraded from the G502 Hero wired unit, and can say that this feels better in the hand and the upgraded switches are fantastic.
Can't decide if I should hold out for another $98 deal that might never come…
