    I bought a $20 1tb HDD from eBay, it's a good enclosure for that :D

I got a wd black 500gb 2.5in hdd off Facebook marketplace for $10 once.

surprised it wasn't a scam lol

      • The memory is getting cheaper, soon we'd be able to store everything in our brain using some special link 😂

  • misleading title 6Gbps? when it's 5gbps transfer ?

    • Good catch. Changed the description, can't do much about Amazon though. Fortunately the performance difference should be negligible.

      • i was thinking get the cheaper drive than realsied yeah it's not type c

but then i realise the type c drive probably isn't worth it i feel like the cheaper drive cable is more sturdy and the type c can get damaged easier

  • good ive ordered 2 for some old ssd that i dont want to retire

    • i guess the speed will be limited by usb 3.0 speeds tho aye

Yeah but it's gonna replace 2 external 3.5" HDD so will be an improvement. I can finally retire those really old HDD into a drawer and get the kinda old 2.5" SSDs out of my case and into these.

What I really need to do is chuck the lot but I've got a hoarding problem.

SATA SSDs are limited to 6 Gbps anyway so it's not that big of a bottleneck.

  • Says unavailable for both

  • Good find.
    Both 3.1 ones expired.

  • Good price. Bought the Micro B one for $4.2 from Ali Express when it was on sale last time. It broke(my fault) so was looking for another one. At the moment it's cheaper than the Ali Express one and local delivery

  • Aluminium or steel enclosure's only, for me.
