    Great deal!

  • +1

Great, initially I felt but pain in right ear when using pro updating from airpods 2. Slowly the pain went away, or I might have got used. I tried all ear tips but none worked.

    • +1

I wonder if perhaps you were sick at the time? I find sometimes when I've got a bad cold, the pressure from the vacuum effect of in-ear headphones can be painful.

      • But it was only right ear on antitragus. And I was fine. But there a dedicated reddit forum abt this. But now I'm happy using it with my samsung phone

        • EMF Hypersensitivity?

Great. Refunding my OW purchase from yesterday. lol

    • Just call and they will refund you the difference. It will save your time

      • Thanks. I actually had Rewards dollars to use ($40). So the outlay at BigW was cheaper. I just called OW to cancel my click&collect order.

      great prompt mate!

  • Has anyone used these inside a data centre or on a plane? How do they compare to Bose Qc45 overear?

    • +2

I would always take my QC35's for air travel, but I was shocked at how good the Airpods Pro 2 are. By my ear, they cancel a different range of frequencies, including voice, more effectively. Add in the size and they have totally replaced my Bose when travelling.

Haven't used them in a data centre, but I'd wager they are good.

    • +5

I have used them and the Bose on a plane numerous times. They go a good job but not as good as the Bose. I prefer these for short domestic flights as they are easy to carry and i can use them at the destination for walks/runs. For long flights i always prefer the bose - they have better ANC and are more comfortable to wear over extended periods.

    • +2

I would say they aren’t as stable as headphones - like if I smile or look down they are likely to need to be gently pushed back for the isolation to be maintained. Headphones also don’t like me looking down.

NC works very well though on AirPods Pro let alone Pro 2

    • +2

The Pro 2 is really good for travel; they do a really good job in planes. In my experience they're not as good as the XM4 / QC45, but they come close enough to make the weight and size difference worth the trade-off. I only use my XM4s at home now really.

    • Really weird experience in my case after seeing other comments… I've got that QC SC from the other deal and it's really similar if not slightly better than QC45. In my everyday use I would choose Airpods Pro all day everyday (even with twice the price seriously). But my use cases are different from yours. I mainly use them during outdoor gym or playing basketball.

Actually when I first try on the QC SC without music I got totally confused if I'm even turning the NC on… I just double checked the settings/updates/NC level in the app and made sure it is on NC mode LOL. I suspected that I could get a defect model at first. But after a few search I found that quite some ppl have the same experience and confusion as I do, even used in quiet environment like libraries it cannot do a great job.

While putting on Airpods Pro is like getting me into a kinda vacant environment and make me feel completely alienated from the outside world, and that's what I'm looking for NC. Only few advantages in QC SC imo are way better battery life, better wind noise cancellation when it's windy and maybe more comfortable during long time use (but it does get my ears unbearably hot even when it's like 20 degrees outside now so…). Just my sole experience and these are the only two NC headphones I own so :)

    • I prefer in-ears to over-ears for travel. Over ears would always move whenever I moved my head against the headrest, rendering them ineffective.

  • My wife lost hers and I want to replace, been tossing up whether to just buy or wait in case there's an announcement of a new version. This deal looks pretty good though, makes my decision hard…

    • -1

I'm holding out till September, Apple might release a new airpods model at the next event.

    • -1

Not likely to have a new version announced this year - all rumors point to next year, and no clear info on updates apart from some new health features. If I was you, I would just get the gen 2's now.

    • +1

Honestly won't get much better than these, I would pull the trigger

    • +1

The noise cancelling and sound quality on these is already so good, the only improvement I would want in the next gen is the mic quality.

  • Thanks - held out for the longest time but with this purchase my eco system is now fully usb c

    • I'm on this path too. It's been easy to switch powerbanks and wall chargers, but as an endurance cyclist, I've had to upgrade my bike computer (Garmin Edge 1050), GPS tracker (Garmin inReach Messenger), dynamo charger (K-Lite), AirPods (Pro 2, although ideally I'll get something more sport oriented for long rides like my old Powerbeats Pro.

The only thing left is my iPhone…

    • i'm still waiting for a EV that will have a USB-C to complete my eco system

  • Was holding out until they were less than $300 and finally got some. Thanks.

  • +1

Good timing. Thank you OP. got 10$ voucher for signing up and will claim TRS which bring it down to $261. niceee

    • +8

According to TRS website you may not be able to claim this by itself as it's under $300, you will have to buy something else to get it above $300.

spend at least AUD 300, (including Goods and Services Tax (GST), in total from a supplier with the same Australian Business Number (ABN)
      https://www.abf.gov.au/entering-and-leaving-australia/touris…

      • oh yeah sorry forgot to mention I added other item to make total bill 300$

  • Is it worth buying these if I use a samsung galaxy

    • Not really. Just buy the Buds2 Pro, they’re very good.

    • No. Buds 2 Pro or something like the Liberty 4 NC which has LDAC. The AZ80s if you are rich, they are the only TWS I've tried that actually sound like IEMs. They destroy the airpods.

    • They work just fine on an Android device but you are missing out on stuff like updates, native features (can still use them physically, I think it's just phone controls) as well as the pretty fleshed out "find my device". I also believe (and correct me if I'm wrong) different audio codecs that iPhones use that are designed to work with airpods.

It's a no-brainer if you are on the Apple ecosystem, and it's still fine on an Android given you are okay with what I mentioned above, however there are a lot of other great if not better options for Android users that other commenters have mentioned.

Top of the line stuff I've seen reviewed a lot:

      • Sony WF-1000XM5
      • Jabra Elite 10 (note that Jabra announced they aren't doing earbuds anymore after this)
      • Galaxy Buds 2 & 3 Pro
      • Pixel Buds 2 Pro
      • Technics AZ80 (I'm personally waiting for a sale on these)
      • Bose QC2

Officeworks have just confirmed that they will be dropping the website price to match this, but that it hasn't updated as yet.

    • +1

      RUN!!!

  • Good price. Paid the same in July from Amazon. Definitely worth the upgrade over the original AirPods Pro, plus USB-C charging is convenient in the modern world.

  • +3

Officeworks Doncaster refused to price beat because Big W didn’t list the model number “MTJV3ZA/A”. By the time I got to box hill south officeworks to try my luck they denied me again because it’s already $297 on the system, even though the ticket price in store and online are still $348.

    • +8

Both Doncaster and BH Officeworks are the biggest clowns when it comes to declining price beats, my favourite thing to do is call 1300 OFFICE over the phone and get them to price beat and do click and collect for the store that refused to price beat for me.

      • +6

I did exactly that at the carpark of BH. I’m collecting my price beaten AirPods at Doncaster in 2 hours ($281.20). Lesson learnt, I’ll just call next time ;)

    • That's the version without ANC.

    • +2

They're not Pro's though, there the regular airpods, which aren't even close to the quality of the Pro's.

      • +1

+1 might as well get a set of $10 TDK's from the servo if you're looking at the non-pro airpods lol

  • -1

    Do this pair sound good?

    • It's had great reviews, but can of course be subjective.

    • No issues for me. If you are someone that is too sensitive to these matters or that can differentiate between lossless vs high quality mp3 then may be try it out first with someone who already owns…

  • Had my gen 1 since 2021 and still going strong and get huge amount of use everyday. Probably the best pair of headset I've owned since bose qc35

  • +1

Should be able to price beat at Officeworks.

    Nope…😔

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/862809

  • Nothing to lose sleep over. Big W don’t list the model number which OW stores require to price beat. YMMV if you call the OW number (depends on the agent). Too late now.

  • -3

    Copying xiaomi design…

  • Good deal, I bought a pair from Officeworks. Unfortunately missed the price beat, but still a great price!

JBhifi Price match with 10% off Ultimate Gaming & Bites card from bigW?

  • Do you think these will be worth getting as I have Pixel Buds Pro been using with iPhone 15 Pro since launch day no issues whatsover? I changed over from Pixel 7

    • If you have no issues with your current earbuds why would you want to buy these

    • I’ve owned both. The Pixel Buds Pro are outstanding and very similar to the AirPods Pro 2: https://www.rtings.com/headphones/tools/compare/google-pixel…
It ultimately comes down to how much you want to be a part of the Apple ecosystem.

      • +1

Thanks for your input, I don't think it's worth buying as I'm currently happy with the Pixel Buds.

  • Does Apple Store price match? Could use the Apple gift card from bigw?

    • +1

Only by 10% off their price

  • I placed an order for click and collect and BigW have cancelled my order and refunded it. :(

    • What was their reason for doing this? It can still be purchased online for delivery.

      • No clue, it was in stock when I ordered. Message was “ Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to supply the below items in your order. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.”

I price matched and ordered from jb instead.

  • You were lucky, I missed everyone, they had all put the oracle CB box by ~5:30 pm - if I had a CC with enough credit on it, I wouldn’t old have bought them earlier in the week paid the Highton fo a click and collect. Looks like I missed out, again :-/
