Why are you replying multiple times to your own deal to say it's a great deal?
I like the way snrub thinks!
Great deal

Forgot to switch accounts. Sorry.
No.
Great deal
What's the benefit of this as compared to the $10-$15 ones you buy at aliexpress and run off tuya?
I can only comment on the $15 via Tuya and i cant think of many differences.
The Tuya can turn on/off, it can adjust temp, it can adjust modes. The only difference i can assume is this has more models in its Database whilst the Tuya is limited.
ie. I cant adjust the angle via my unit in the App, I dont know if what im exactly setting on the Tuya is the same as remote(example if somebody picks up the remote turns it on, turns it to 32deg) the Tuya wont know and if i then go and press the On button im actually turning it off.I thought I was the only one. When I use Tuya it sets it at this crazy angle. Will take the crazy angle and the $110 saving on buying this unit though.
My crazy angle is straight down.. which is annoying as i sleep under the unit.
Great in summer, death in winter when your trying to sleep comfortably and then notice at 2am your sweating like its a 40deg summers day.
Is there no custom setup option in the Tuya app?
From what ive seen no you cant mix/match, you need to add a device brand like Mitsubishi and then try and lineup a similar model give or take.
There's no ability to add like a No Name brand and just keep trying IR Blasts from "Angle" until you get something that fires correctly and then saving that.
link for Tuya ?
Is this just an IR blaster with a temp sensor?
and a cloud manager, and an app, and ease of application.
I did the DIY option with temp sensors and IR blasters as we had 6 units in our last house, but if it was my mums house and she wanted this for her two ACs i would just get a out the box solution. Only thing i would tripple check is there isn't a subscription charge to make it actually useful (looking at you RING door bells).
Price and delivey costs in title my man
$129 just to turn your aircon on and off. Much better looking at 2nd hand OEM modules as most if not all airconditioners have provisioning for an additional comms module.
Also Sensibo paywalls some pretty basic features, look at the subscription prices
Any idea of something that can turn on and adjust heat pump via app no matter where you are? I could do that with Ambi Climate (turn on heat pump on my way home) but that company has since shut down.
Depending what your needs are, a Switchbot could be cheaper, no paywall or subscriptions and has more applications. Or one of the many $15 options on AliExpress.
My Switchbot turns on/off my central air/heater and coffee machine.
Been using a couple the Broadlink RM4 Mini with Sensor Cable units for almost a year and they've been great.
Currently $33.99 on Amazon.
This can also control other IR devices in the same room. While it may not have all functions great for turning the heating on before you get home.
Can this work 100% offline, including any initial setup? Is it dependant on their app or can operate it without it using something like home assistant?
it can either work offline via home assistant or requires cloud via their app. I have used it both ways and home assistant was the better option.
is this the same : https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001041042240.html?src=googl…
alot cheaper : AU$10.34
I've been using 4 Broadlink devices for probably 6 years running through Alexa for voice control and they have never missed a beat. They even control the bedside fans and can change fan speed, aircon temps, TVs etc by voice. Lazy man's dream come true.
There's one feature that sensibo has that I haven't been able to replicate on the cheaper IR blasters. It can receive commands from the aircon remote so it's always in sync with what temp you set the aircon at.
anyone know if there's anything like this for a ducted system?
I got one of these sensibo things. Don't know if it's the same model.
But do not purchase, all the cool features are locked behind a subscription. They are reliable, I agree that some of the paywalled features are a bit much though, like the iOS widget.
Kind of going through mixed reviews. Can you guys please tell whether this is a bargain or no? I was planning to set up my Daikin split to be controlled while I am at work.
I bought two last month based on our installers recommendation. In general they're overpriced and their ads follow you literally everywhere on the internet but I'd buy one again tbh
We use ours to turn on & off split systems remotely, check ambient room temperature and schedule to turn on remotely. Does all of those things really well.
Having a subscription for more advanced features is a bummer, but none of the features are actually that good? So I haven't missed it.
Thanks Le :)
It is in terms of being the current cheapest price. Not going to lie, feels a bit on the expensive side, though they are reliable once set up. If you value reliability/products that 'just work', they are good. Can possibly accomplish the same with a cheaper IR blaster, especially if you don't need HomeKit.
The Sensibo Air has HomeKit integration for those in the Apple ecosystem. If you don't need that you may as well just get the Sensibo Sky for $129.

I'd personally pay the extra $10 for the newer model (as someone who thought the same and ended up having to purchase a replacement for HomeKit).
Need to list my old Sky..
Sensibo sky works great with Home Assistant to get HomeKit support
I've had 3 running for over 3 years now. First through Homebridge now Home Assistant.
Both expose to HomeKit perfectly.
Isn't the Broadlink RM4 Mini a much better buy? Mine cost $40 and seems to the the exact same things as this unit.
Works with my Mitsubishi Heavy Industries split system perfectly.
I'd be curious what the reliability is like (could be perfect, I don't know) and I imagine only suitable for Google Home and Alexa.
6 years running 4 Broadlink devices, they are brilliant and never miss a beat.
I purchased two of these the other day for this price from JB. A decent deal though still more than I ideally would have liked to spend. Had a Sensibo Sky previously and upgraded as needing HomeKit support. Sure, there are probably cheaper IR blasters, though these work pretty well in terms of being set and forget. My main complaint is some of the app features that are behind the monthly subscription, such as the iOS widget. Not the end of the world if controlling via HomeKit/Alexa/Google Home though.
I’ve had mine for a couple of years now on 3 of my split systems, I only bought them for control through HomeKit so I don’t use any of the features behind the paid subscription. They work great and are nice and reliable as long as when installing you get a good path to direct the ir. Home kit also uses the temp sensor in the Sensibo to show the room temperature.
Also I have a problem where my ir signals must be the same because Turing off one of the Sensibo controlled ac units also turns off my tv- I can fix it by just rotating the Sensibo unit and it misses the tv but still funny.
It’s been awhile now but I remember the setup being a headache and I think this was because 2 of the units wouldn’t connect untill I did a complete reset- I strongly suspect Amazon sent me units that some one had returned and hence had been added into a previous account, cant prove this but was frustrating at the time.
I bought this for my rental las t summer- the AC unit was a slightly older Haier unit and had no timer function. Bought it basically so I can tweak the schedule timer on by running the unit between MN and 6am when my rate drops 3/4 of the price off peak. Practical, efficient and convenient and like what others have said, works 99.9% of the time
Thank you. I am bed ridden after yet another surgery and the biggest pain is the insanity of losing remotes for a million things in the bed. Now if we can just work on a solution for my eye glasses…..
