  • Ordered!

    • Woohoo, terrific to hear, thank you so much!!!

  • Geez, Tom, you’re really knocking out the deals lately! Good thing I’ve got guests coming to help co sure all the coffee I’m ordering.

    • haha indeed, this year I'm in the coffee version of full steam ahead Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory mode, so many exciting coffees, so little time to catch them all, especially given the crazy roller coaster of coffee prices/availability at present. Also there's an extremely exciting announcement is currently in the works!!!

I'm sure your friends group will grow ten fold when word gets out every day's a coffee party in your home :)

Thank you so much for your continued support, as always it's truly appreciated!

Thanks. Decided to give this a try solely on the basis of your site's ability to select a preferred dispatch date. I wish more sites put this much thought into their website design.

    • +3

Absolutely fantastic to hear our unique scheduled/delayed dispatch feature is a real winner for you!

Thank you so much for your order, fingers crossed you love this special Single Origin from Colombia :)

  • Yay it’s finally back! Thanks Tom!

    • Woohoo for the return of Colombia!!!

Very happy it's been worth the wait for you and thank you so much for what I assume is an order placed :)

  • which beans are your recommendation for strong lattes at home? thank you!

    • Morning @Melbargain22 appreciate the check in!

Just to ensure we're on the same page by "strong" do you mean strong chocolate notes, strong bitterness, a high acidity kick or ..?

      • more on the stronger kick side with a strong flavour and body. anything that gets you going in melbourne winters :)

        • inevitable stronger coffee flavor and possibly with a darker roast, thanks Tom

          • @Melbargain22: Appreciate the extra info!

Hopefully my interpretation of your preferences are on point. Generally in coffee speak "extra kick" often refers to a higher acidity level, but I assume you mean higher caffeine content? Relatively speaking all coffee has a somewhat similar caffeine content, there is a bit of variation, but generally not significant enough for a person to notice provided like for like extraction is compared. The main caffeine kick a person will notice if when comparing different extractions e.g. 30ml of espresso vs. 30ml of plunger coffee. We do not have a dark roast available, but as you didn't jump in and say notable bitterness is your jam, I assume you are just mentioning a darker roast to emphasise you want the coffee flavour to cut through the milk well? By stronger coffee flavour, I assume you mean strong coffee chocolate notes, as that's generally what someone is looking for when they want a "coffee flavour" coffee haha I know that speaks like a strange thing to write "someone wants coffee to taste like a coffee :)"

If all the above is right, then I believe although you may enjoy several of our options, our Brazil São Paulo Single Origin should be your hands down favourite!

            • @LimeBlueCoffee: Thanks Tom! Like you just mentioned the coffee should cut through the milk without loosing its orgininal characterstics (we are going in detail her, lol). I don't belive that a stronger coffee means tonnes of liquid brew in the cup - its more than that. The more the merrier doesn't sit well in the caffiene world; atleast not for me. Get the notes right plus the balance - and there you have a rippa cuppa.

But I see your point - Brazil Sao Paulo it is for me then. Cheers!

            • @LimeBlueCoffee: Out of interest..Which has more caffeine out of the plunger or espresso?

    • How strong/weak a coffee ends up in your cup is a result of your brew ratio.

  • Ordered! This sounds more like something I will enjoy, I absolutely loved the Peru Chanchamayo Single Origin. So hoping this is similar!

    • +1

Fantastic to hear @Snowy83 thank you so much for another terrific order!

Based on your love of our Peru I think you'll absolutely love our Colombia Single Origin. From flavour perspective our Colombia is as if you add a jolt of secret sauce flavour to our deliciously sweet Peru. Two main differences you'll notice is our Colombia has a higher acidity kick and more clean fruity notes in the aroma and finish of the cup :)

Is there any chance to just do a medium roast batch on this bean
The Omni roast just doesn't do the bean justice for me and I always feel some burnt flavour from the darker side of things.

    • Hey @maverickjohn appreciate the query and feedback!

The details of your feedback is very helpful (thank you) because what you've described is the opposite of what a medium omni roast achieves from a technical perspective. This makes me think your extraction may need a slight tweak. If you've still got some our of coffee left from a recent order could you please send a reply email to your order confirmation referencing this message? I'm keen to help get your coffee on point AKA delicious :)

      • Email sent.. I had this problem before from your beans. I mean no disrespect but when this happened last. I also couldn't drink the bean. I normally never throw beans but last time was undrinkable and had to throw, this time when I bought the Sao Paolo, last time was Colombia Huila, I have not really been enjoying it. I'm reluctant to buy again as that's 2 in a row ( around 2 years apart) that I bought and haven't enjoyed it. I'm almost certain it's the Omni roast as I have been getting the burnt flavour through each time. I can see the dark roasted beans inside the bag.
Anyway look forward to hearing from you.

        • Appreciate the follow up emails!

No disrespect taken at all. I know personal flavour preference is quite subjective, so not everyone is going to love every single coffee they try. My primary goal is to ensure your extraction is on point, so you can taste the flavours as intended from their make a fair assessment if it's a winner for you or not. I believe we've made some terrific progress it terms of tweaking your extraction settings e.g. we've already got your group flow rate down from 650ml per 30 seconds to 220ml per 30 second. We've still got a few more tweak left to make, but I think we're hopefully heading in the right direction :)

I wouldn't get too hung up on the colour when comparing one coffee to another. Yes, it does provide helpful info, but the info is a bit skewed when coffees from different regions, different varietal and processed in different ways are compared to one another e.g. our Brazil São Paulo Single Origin is a naturally processed coffee, so the unroasted is slightly different colours and darker compared to a Washed Colombia, as such the a lighter roast on the Brazil next to a darker roast on the Colombia could result in the Brazil beans looking darker than the Colombia, purely based on the Natural vs. Washed processing, not even taking into account the other factors mentioned above.

Anyway I'm glad we've commenced the dialog and I look forward to discuss your extraction via email :)

          • @LimeBlueCoffee: I'll order the Colombia as normally I've always preferred Colombia. With the sao paolo I'm still not really getting a nice flavour even with the optimisation. But it could just be that it's not my preference.
I'll do a delayed dispatch for this bean.
Tom I know I have taken heaps of your time but I do appreciate the effort you go through. I do play with my flow control to try unique extractions it's worked for other beans. But I will let a standard setting for your beans and give it another crack maybe I just need to prepare these ones differently.

    Are the TimTams coming back!?

    • I second this. Bring the TimTams back

      • +1

Hey @Fractual node and @ollie1938 appreciate the request, however right now we're full steam ahead with the upgrade to Lotus Biscoff instead :)

We sent an email prior to the switch listing the various reasons for the change. It was partly due to an increase number of people for one reason of another not being able to have Tim Tams, party because Tim Tams pair really well with some coffees but take away from the flavour of other coffees and the final reason was there was increasing issues with the manufacturer between supply shortages and us needing to send back boxes of defective products the Tim Tams didn't end up scaling well. The switch to a complimentary Lotus Biscoff with each orders thus far has instantly solved the increasing trifecta of issues that unfortunately happened with the Tim Tams. Fingers crossed you end up loving Lotus Biscoff as much as Tim Tams :)

p.s. we have a small stash of Tim Tams left, so once you place your order just reply "Tim Tam Party" to your email confirmation and we'll put a Tim Tam in with your order if we still have some by the time we get your email.

  • Will you be able to please do filter grind if I leave it in instructions?

    • Never hurts to ask @LoveBargains07 I'm sorry to say right now pre-ground isn't an option. Silver lining is this may be the perfect reason for you to get a small hand grinder, which should improve your coffee flavour experience ten fold :)

      • @LimeBlueCoffee
        Sorry, chiming to your comment.
Could you recommend a not too expensive, relatively affordable hand grinder? (Preferably one that you can adjust).
I recently had to decommission my electric grinder I've used for years.

P.S anyone who reads this comment please be free to leave a recommendation!

        Much appreciated. TIA

        • Hey @Taeni no apology needed at all, appreciate the chime in!

A Rhino hand grinder will do the trick and I believe is well priced @ under $60 online. On course there are better hand grinders, but with better comes more cost :)

        • +1

Recommend one with steel burrs rather than ceramic. Timemore C2 or Kingrinder are good budget options.

Colombia Cauca is back! Been waiting so long to see this return!

    • Wonderful to know it's been worth the wait for you, on a personal note I've also been waiting for us to get this one back :)

Thank you so much in advance for your order :)

  • My 2cents: although it is a Colombian, it's not your standard one. This coffee smell is quite unique and it's on the fruity side and a little omphh at the end. Not our fav - We want the choco+omphh at the end for our filtered long blacks , butt we like variation too ;). If you prefer Sao paulo or had the luck of trying the old Colombian that has been missing for over what years!?, go for the moments blend ;).

Hi OP. I loved the two coffee bags i bought from you, specially the Indian single origin beans. Anyway I'm a coffee noob. I have a breville barista pro at home. Can you give a quick explanation what the ratios/specifications on the coffee bags mean?

    • +1

The ratios are brewing suggestions. You will need to weight your coffee in and your coffee out over the brew time specified e.g. for milk based drinks a suggestion might be 1:1 = 20 grams in (ground coffee) - 20 grams out (extracted coffee in your cup) over an extraction time of 18 seconds.

I do wonder who comes up with the recipes - is that you Tom? :) Am curious about the process.

      • +1

        Ah makes sense. Thanks gif..

Just ordered 7kg. Probs my favourite SO bean I have tasted from Lime Blue.

    • WOW WOW WOW that's absolutely amazing to hear, thank you so much for that incredible order!!!

Fantastic to know you love this special Single Origin so much :)

  • I need to start drinking more coffee, or adding my dispatch dates to my calendar.

Ordered because colombian has always been my favourite coffee and this one is a great example. And now off to make another coffee, because I realised I already have a dispatch for next week and 500g of coffee to get through before then.

  • +1

    need more decaf!

    • agreed

      • Hey @skuzy and @GenghisGun great news, you're in luck because we currently have stock of our delicious Swiss Water Process Decaf :)

  • Missed the deal on the Sao Paulo bean, hopefully I will enjoy this one as much.
Please source an option from Minas Gerais, Brazil :)

    • Glad you found an open window when the door closed, fingers crossed you love this fantastic Single Origin!

Thank you so much for your order, it's truly appreciated :)

Out of pure curiosity, what's your affinity to that region in Brazil?

      • I am from there. It is famous for its coffee quality, especially the region south of the state close to the border with Sao Paulo.

  • Tempted, but the webpage is missing important info - the roast ? please advise, Thanks….

              | ok, found "Omni Roast", but google indicates that this only really tells you that it's been roasted, no indication of degree of roast or flavor (as each roaster can choose what omni roast means to them from what I can tell ?, [so you have to gamble ??])....

    • Hey @stvbarg fantastic to know we've caught your attention!

Appreciate the double check, it's a medium omni roast :)

  • Hi Tom,
I've just placed an order for 2.5kg and I'm planning to freeze the 2kg for later use.
How long should I let the beans dig us before freezing or should I just freeze them straight away?

    Thanks !

    • +1

Hey @EG1995 sounds like a fantastic order, thank you so much!

I'd recommend waiting 1-2 weeks from the roast date if you're proportioning into fortnightly quantities before freezing. If you're planning on just keeping the good stuff in the coffee bag then freeze it as soon as it's delivered :)

  • Ordered. Another great deal Op and delayed shipping and an easy to use website makes it always a no brainer purchase. Keep it up!

    • Terrific, thank you so much for another order and that fantastic vote of confidence, both are truly appreciated!

I'm wrapped to know we're in your good books, I promise we'll keep working hard to stay there :)

P.s. we're working on some exciting new features on our site, so fingers crossed you like using our site more and more over time

  • Is this similar to Colombia Huila SO? That’s the last Colombia I had which is top notch

    • I don't think it is, personally. Huila is far superior.
One of my favourite in recent memory.

I got a random SO from mannabeans recently Honduras - Liquid Ambar
The only one which was better than Huila. Amazing bean.

Have a kg of Costa rican Tarrazu on the way from the recent sale..hope I like it!

      • I agree, they are quite different in several aspects, but the difference goes away after 1/4 bag since we get used to it. The huila also had much more oomph in the end/more rounded/caramel like. At least this is our experience with filtered blacks. Funny fusion mentioned it was a fav - same here - only matched by the 50/kg locally roasted Colombian…

    • Hey @Gloomy appreciate the double check and thank you souch for the compliment!!!

Based on your enjoyment of our Huila I believe you should also love our cauca. The main difference you'll notice between the two is our Cauca has less vanilla and more clean fruity notes when compared to our Huila, overall the two are comparable :)

  • Would this be good for cold drip?! Thanks.

    • Should make a wonderful cold drip if that's you jam :)

      • Every now and then! Espresso is my main coffee, so will definitely give it a try! 😍

        • Wonderful, sounds like a plan, thank you so much for the opportunity, your order is truly appreciated!!!
