Oxford Hot Grips Sports $104.95 Delivered (Sold Out) / Pickup (50% off) @ MCA Superstore

120

Shame they weren't on sale last month during the peak of winter but could still come in handy nowadays. The cruiser version is also on sale, although not this cheap. Only difference between the two is the design of the grip, as well as the length. Internals are all the same except on the evo models.

Great deal… Always wanted one… Worth waiting to see on OZB..

These are $159.90 RRP on the actual Oxford website (link below). So MCA are inflating the RRP price. It's actually only about 35% off RRP, not 50%. Still not a bad deal though.

These were a punishment to fit on my CBR500
    I suppose they worked πŸ˜’

The next learner will appreciate you.. πŸ˜…

I have my doubts about buying it because of installation. Not much extra room on sport bikes.. Where did you end up mounting that bracket?

Hotgrips pro have no controller. More $$$$ but a much cleaner fit plus the auto shut off works well

I honestly have no clue, forgot. Had to dig into the sales photos archive, haha.

To the left of the cluster, very covert yes.

I think the worst part about the installation was not knowing and preparing for how much filing down I'll need to do, and how impossible of a fit it will be

        • +1

          Damn, nice job! Very tidy!

What did you need to file down? If you don't mind me prodding you more.. πŸ˜…

The filing alone sounds like something I'm not willing to do.. πŸ˜… I wonder if the cabling is long enough to just run the controller to under the seat? Won't be able to adjust on the fly so will have a steeper learning curve to figure out the best setting for climate..

          • @WasBargain: Heya, haha no fuss at all. I just don't remember much. Took one nasty fall for me to leave it agter 6 months.

it has been some 2-3 years but, The installation felt like it's permanent commitment to those handles.

The OGs have a rim to keep them in, gotta file it down to slide them on

then, the barrel handles portion, once naked, I think they had odd tactile bumps the OEM handles were using for grip - those get in the way, so you have to sand them away to make the whole barrel smooth for it to slide on, even then it's a tough slide. I didn't wanna make it too thin idk how it would survive, but it worked for me and I'm not particularly handy with tools or appliances, so anyone could, haha.

the worst part was the accelerator handle, lining it to make it comfortable and even was a bit of an afterthought on my part.

For the installation of the control, I passed on the ugly mount and used some serious double sided tape

  • Damn, OOS yeah?

Edit: Oh, might be delivery only OOS. Says # in stock at listed local stores.

Very good price but Mine went tacky in a few months and not just me-

There are fixes, or avoid the trouble, I much prefer Whites personally but do cost a bit more, just a warning to maybe save some disappointment, best of luck if you buy
