@OP, Thank you Very Much :)

Just a heads up that these shrink like crazy. Even on the gentlest cycle on my machine, it shrank

    • +4

Yeah, +1. For men's sizing they also run short so if you're a slim build and even average height they'll sit very short. Let alone after a few washes.

    • had one for a bit over a year, washed multiple times on a delicate cycle w/cold water, did not use a dryer and no shrinkage

  • Ok . So buy 1 or 2 sizes up or just pass completely ?

I’m normally a medium in Uniqlo, but went up to Large and after a couple of washes, it shrank to a small. Ended up giving it to my niece

Uniqlo said I didn’t wash it correctly, and I was meant to stretch it out after washing to reshape it. They did offer me a refund, but cbf going back to the store

I saw these in the shop, material looks really thin

    • +4

Yes, I can confirm the Uniqlo merino sweaters are really thin. I managed to tear a hole in mine while taking it off…

The Calvin Klein merino wool jumpers that I bought from this deal are much better.

      • Are they itchy? Do you wear anything under them?

Dupe of my post 10 Min prior. But your post is much more impressive than mine. 😂 Maybe the mods can combine

+1 your post for getting in before op

    I've had these for years.
Wash on gentle cold water cycle : no shrinkage.
Use a delicates bag : no pulled threads

    • bingo, not hard

      • +2

Cold water has the same effect on me

        • Weird. Warm water (30 degrees) is also fine for me. Honestly one of the best purchases I've made.

Who doesn't like cashmere? Find me one person in the world that doesn't like cashmere.

    • Yes but dry clean…

    • I don't like them. Too thick / warm.

      • This is Not thick cashmere, they are really thin, and scratchy, barely a one, let alone two, ply. Their fine wool is OK, but the cotton ones are best. Be very careful washing any of their jumpers, they shrink like crazy.

You're joke is flying over heads!

      What's that red dot?

Is our population getting fatter? All left over sizes are small or x-small…😅

    • +2

Always been that way. Probably why it's on sale in the first place.

I would argue height is the main factor. But also yes.

  • Following this, Can we see a price drop for Merinos from Oxford, Country Road, Academy Brand and others?

  • Cashmere Crew Neck Sweater this is the one i am after.

  • We'll see next year

Miss the days of Hallenstein merino jumpers which I think were only about $20 each on deals posted here. Still wear mine which are over ten years old and have held up well.

  • Ugh. Those cashmere jumpers feel so lovely in store but they’re all gone. Can’t justify the original $130.

    • Price is crazy now. I bought one a few years ago and i think it was $80. thought that was expensive then but it is a nice jumper, so soft and warm.

    • I got it for a similar price this year with cashback when they were down to 99 (and the cashback was around 40%)

  • I thought the crew neck cashmere RRP is $200? Or I've gone crazy…

    • +2

thats the ladt year model and this year model has camedown in price as well as quality.

      • Thanks, I got it as a gift 2 years ago, will keep it extra careful from now on then. When you said lower quality, is it thinner?
Last year I went to JPN and saw it on sale for about $80AUD, now I'm wondering if it was the lower quality version.

  • Most sizes except xxs/xxl are sold out now :(

  • +1

They are super thin so after a few months, there will be holes everywhere. Not worth it

  • +3

Always buy the best quality cashmere and pure new wool that you can afford, choose a classic design, crew new or V neck, wool wash gentle, dry flat in shade, look after it you’ll get years of wear. Don't buy the cheap ones, they do not last, buy better and fewer.

Some sizes have just been restocked - I missed out on my size when this was first posted, but was just able to snag an M in both gray and dark gray after getting a notification on the mobile app. Cheers OP
