Awesome price on this Stream Deck Mini alternative from Ajazz with a few physical differences. I originally shared this a few weeks back but it was taken down due to the store having low feedback (93% ish). Now that's it's a Choice store (shipped from AliExpress) it's all good.

What sets this apart from the Stream Deck Mini is the addition 1 large knob and 2 small knobs for scrolling/clicking and 3 smaller buttons for cycling between different pages of shortcuts. These additions make it better for streaming, photo/video editing, volume control and more.

This is available in the colours Black or White with a removable stand. While the Ajazz software isn't as polished as Elgato's software it still has plenty of plugins/options and Elgato plugins can be sideloaded too. My only real complaint with this one is that you can't have animated icons like in the Elgato Stream Deck.

AliExpress Business accounts can get it as low as US$35.04 (~A$53.04).

Edit: Try apply IFPFC4Z or IFP5MXK or IFPNX2H for a lower discount.

  • Is this a metal frame?

    • No it's plastic.

  • Does it store the controls/macros locally on the device rather than needing extra software to execute them?
NVM: This is the deal beaker "Each macro can include up to 5 characters"
Macros need to be longer than that for any useful function

The Ajazz desktop app must be running for the dock to perform any functions. There is no onboard memory.

you can sideload Barraider's Elgato plugins for macros. https://barraider.com/
There is also a Discord server if you want help and support (but the developer specifically states there is no tech support for people using non-Elgato knockoffs)

however plugins from Elgato and made specifically for Elgato Stream Decks need to be obtained through some kind of appstore, and this appstore basically functions as a DRM / walled garden and I was not able to find the manual download links for some of the more useful plugins.

For e.g the official Slack plugin published by Elgato — I'm not able to find a github repo that hosts these files.

Ajazz's software is janky and pretty frustrating to use, for e.g the macro recording stops after just one keypress and it would be easier to manually write the macros into a text editor and paste the commands in.

That's honestly a shame mate. Really looking to offload unecessary bloatware and for once the hardware looks promising and good value (cheapish and big knob is a good knob).

  • Not a lot of reviews but it certainly looks promising. Anyone have experience with AJazz stuff?

It goes by the name Mirabox N3 and there's a few YouTube reviews. Ajazz are more traditionally a budget mechanical keyboard brand and I can't fault them. I've used a few of their hot swap keyboards before and they've been solid.

    • Solid mechanical keyboard and wireless mouse range. I used to be sceptical of the quality but the AK820 keyboard has met my expectations, the cat mouse has held up to kids' abuse.

Bought it from the last deal, initial thoughts:

    • Like all devices of this kind, the limitation is always going to be software.
    • Some of the plugins aren't very responsive - e.g. the Spotify one sometimes takes more than one press to play/pause
    • The bottom 3 black buttons cannot be re-assigned. They are purely for changing between macro pages for your top 6 buttons.
    • The dials are painfully slow to register in Windows. Multiple clicks of a turn on the dial only registers a volume increment of +2 so you'll be spinning it for a while to get to opposite ends of your volume.

Happy to field questions for those that are curious.

    • Yeah it has a very low 'polling rate', perhaps around 30~40ms. if you spin the volume knob too fast many of the commands get ignored.

      • Ah that explains it. Yeah that is a bit annoying.

      • I've been following the Chinese forums and last week the factory said:

        最近在开发这个旋钮的步长可选择了,敬请期待
We are currently developing a knob with selectable step length, so stay tuned.

Hopefully it's a software update, as Ajazz runs the same software as Mirabox (OEM), albeit different branding. If it's a new physical knob that'll suck.

    • Also got one from the last deal and agree with all assessments. I’d also add the top dial is especially uninspiring to turn, no mechanical resistance aside from the detents and the polling rate issue makes it almost useless unless turning very, very slowly. The assignable buttons are also very mushy but I hear that’s a problem on Elgato models, when pressing hard enough to register you see a lot of lcd bloom too. As a proof of concept it did its job for the price, but I’ll be keeping an eye out for a sale on the Stream Deck Plus.

  • is this compatible with ATEM ? when it comes to this kinda stuff, the software support is almost 80% of the story.
