  • What is the angle of light and what is the light output? (lumens)

These two are probably more important than a lot of the other specs listed

I have tried several different wattage leds and so for even a 9w cree doesnt come close to a 50w halogen.
about to try a 12w and see how that goes

i would expect a 7w to be not even close to a 25w halogen?

    • The LED lamp is a 7W which is equal to 50W halogen lamp, it gives a 300 lumen light output with a 40 degree beam angle. While halogen appears brighter, it is a cleaner more direct light output, the LED is a more even light output so does appear not as bright.

      • +1

how is a 300 lumen 40 degree beam angle comparable to 750 lumen 60 degree beam angle of a normal 50w halogen on the market as you claimed? I don't see any similar number between 2 lights.

    • I use these 7W'ers http://www.energysaver.net.au/supreme-mr16-downlight-true-wh…
Wife approved brightness levels and colour.

Seem to be dimmable if you have trailing edge dimmers.

  • At that price, not a bargain in any way, shape or form, imo.

    • For a quality fitting, and quality lamp the price is a bargain. The globe alone would normally retail for more than this complete kit. This is not a cheap knock off with sub-par LED globe that will not give even light output. Also this IS dimmable, IS gimble and has a much nicer finish than alot of the cheaper alternatives. If you are looking at price, then maybe it's not the cheapest LED downlight in the market, but for a quality fitting it is a great price. Also with Cetnaj we are available for after sales service, not like alot of other LED products on the market.

  • rep, how much for non-dimmable ones? I am looking for x 6 of these, but is to replace MR16 FNV/C 12v 50w..

    • We currently have a non dimmable version, it is exactly the same fitting, different globe. It is a 6W globe, with 60 degree angle and 320 Lumens. The globe however is cool white rather than warm white. At the moment we have it online for $24.95 (link below) but I'll see if I can get a better price and get back to you.

      • actually, i'll pm you instead ;)
        edit: realised pm not enabled.

i should've said i'm looking for the bulb replacement, not the entire kit…

        • Hi, sorry about that. I can do an MR16 LED (high output) in 9W for $25.95 each, this will work with any MR16 downlight as long as it has an electronic transformer. I don't currently have it online, so if you are interested let me know and I can add it online and give you the link. We can do it in Warm White or Daylight.

          Specs are:

          12V AC/DC input
Compatible with leading brand electronic transformer
          High efficiency LED CHIP
          Super bright high lumen output
          Power consumption 9W
          Long life, average 50,000 hours
          Suits most halogen MR16 fitting

        • i'm not sure what you meant by "as long as it has an electronic transformer."

i just pulled the bulb out of the ceiling, and it says 12v… so where can i find this said transformer?

        • Sorry should have explained. All low voltage fittings (ie 12V not 240V) need to have a transformer to convert the 240V mains power to 12V. So attached to each light should be an inline transformer in the roof cavity. If you can get a photo or the details off of this I can tell you whether it will work. Unfortunately the only way to tell is to pull the fitting out and see if you can pull the transformer through or get up into the roof which of course SHOULD be done by an electrician. (Responsible disclaimer) Because the globe is AC/DC it should be fine but always best to check. :)

  • what kind of socket does the light have? I currently have halogen downlights with the 2pin plug in sockets. Will the LED work with those sockets?

    • Hi, it has a GU10 socket which is the push and twist, it sounds like you have a MR16 bi-pin, which is different. We do have the replacement LED globes for this style as per my post above to slowmo. :) If you would like to send me a picture I can confirm this and let you know. You can just send to [email protected].

  • +1

I buy my halogen replacement from AliExpress. (these guys http://www.aliexpress.com/store/606081)
    2 x 9w MR16 bright white dimmable were $13 delivered.
    They're great, cheap

  • Hi rep do you have this deal with a satin/chrome housing?
Also what is the colour temperature of the lamp?

    • Just replied via email. :)
