  • whos the cheapest to port out of boost to then port back in?

    • +2

Lebara. $8 for a small plan on their website at the moment, and on alternate weeks between Coles/Woolies they usually have SIMs for ~$8-10.
Kogan has a $10 SIM on their website now, and Amaysim long life casual is $10 as well.

No more $4 Lebara SIMs at Colesworths any more it seems :(

      • Damn I’m waiting for 50% off woolies mobile to move from boost it’s just too much for it now

        • Does Wollies rewards mobile ever go on sale? Never see it on sale not to mention the 50% off

      • +1

Saw $29.90 sim at lebara for $10 today. $24.90 sim for $9. Coles

    • -1

Flip, but you would have to wait a lifetime to get the card delivered

    • I did Aldi last year, $5

    • +4

beware porting out boost right after 28 days will void cashback. guess they had enough of us sim sluts…

      • +2

Dual Sim might be the way to go.

Sim 1: Park your favorite number on an Amaysim $10 365-day pay-as-you-go plan to continue recieving incoming calls and texts.

Sim 2: Use your 28-day Boost sims with xxGB mobile data, and swap them out when they expire.

That way they 'expire naturally' and don't void the cashback.

P.S. I forget the exact settings, but depending on your phone you can set it to hide Caller ID on outgoing calls and texts, if you don't want people to see your Boost number.

        • For some reason, on my custom Android ROM phone, the blocking caller ID does not work :-\

      • good to know.

    • Telstra $2 sim has worked well for me so far. Have been able to skip subscribing to a plan which is the case for most providers

  • +1

Can you transfer an existing number or is this for new numbers only

    • +3

No problem. When you activate the SIM you get to choose new number or keep existing.

  • When do I need to activate this by?

    • For cashback to be paid out:
SIM must be activated within 30 days of purchase, and must not be deactivated until your cashback is payable. If the SIM is deactivated prior, Boost may decline cashback.

You can let it expire (not recharge), but you can't cancel or port out before cashback is paid.

      • I don’t mind not getting cashback, do you know the deadline for activating the sim?

        • +2

Expiry will be printed on the cardboard. The last one I had was November 2025.

          • @team teri: Same here, last purchased SIM card expiry was for November 2025.

  • Can you buy $2 lebara sim plan to port out and then port back in to boost

    • +1

No, you need to buy a plan to activate the Lebara SIM. I covered it here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15616697/redir

      • Last time I got the $1 sim from lebara and was able to port out ? Don’t think things have changed , but will give it a go

        • +2

Let me know if you have any luck, I didn't think that was possible.
I generally buy the $8-10 SIMs and port to them from Boost but stay for the month and use it until it expires, then port back to Boost.

          • +1

@bonezAU: Actually bought a $2 starter pack(lebara) from woolies today will give it a go and will let you know

            • +1

@Sunnyoz: Can confirm. You can use the $2 Lebara starter pack sim to port out your number without buying a plan, BUT only via PHONE CALL.

That is by calling their customer support number and asking them to port your number to your new Lebara sim card.

P.S. They might ask 'have you tried activating it online via the website?', in which case you can just tell them 'you already tried, but you weren't able to' and then they'll offer to do it manually over the phone.

P.P.S. Their website WILL NOT let you port out without buying a plan.

              • @Noob Noob: Thanks mate , that does makes sense , I think mate if mine did it the same way , cheers

        How are they identifying me;

I have tried with VPN, private browsing (might kill the cash back), fake name, new address, different phone number, new cash rewards account, different credit card, currently not with boost (I flick between them and Telstra rewards sims). Annoying.

  • Should add the key words "for new customers only" in your title.

    • +1

Not needed, you can buy even if you are an existing customer.

New Customer = New Mobile Service when your talking about Boost Mobile.

  • This was free with cashback the other day….

  • Can just do it on the app with esim aswell. Ported from belong about a week ago with no issues

    • Esim excluded

      • Im confused? How did i manage it then?

Genuinely curious because ive never been with boost before, dont have a physical sim but am on the 28 day 70gb plan and I paid $12 for it.

        What am i missing here?

Can provide screenshots of the plan and my one and pnly payment of $12 if you want to have a look.

      Link updated on post, legendary!!

    • Does cash rewards no longer do cashback for Boost?

  • +1

last I looked the $12 for 70GB first month deal became like

$35 for 25GB for the next and subsequent months, and then

    'From 22 October 2024, this recharge will increase to $39' - https://boost.com.au/products/35-prepaid-sim

  • I keep trying to buy one through the app as a esim and it sends me back in a loop - any ideas?

  • This data rolls over to next months right?
