  • Is it possible to have custom notification for each camera and sensors?

    • Do you mean as in , it will tell you which camera or sensor got tripped? Or you mean you want each camera or sensor to then trigger or do something.

Same price for the entry sensor down from $49

    Wireless Motion Sensor

Does it also detect the loco-motion? Because that’s what everyone’s doing now.

    • I’ll plus one because I’m a massive Kylie Minogue fan but I don’t get it

          Underrated comment. Have a plus.

    Does it need a hub?

      Read the OP again

      • +23

Typing "yes" would have taken less effort but I appreciate the pettiness 😂

        • -1

          So homebase is a hub?

        • +8

Give the man a fish he eats for a day. Teach the man to fish he eats for a lifetime.

        • Reading the op would have saved us all time

If you have one of those old alarm systems with motion sensors in each room you can also use konnected.io to add them to home assistant for automation.

Just need an esp32 for a few bucks.

    Thought it was worth mentioning.

    • True , I only bother posting as I know eufy is one of the most subscribed tags for alerts around here so probably handy for at least a handful of people

    • Do you know if there is a more detailed guide? Just buy one and wire it up? Is esp32 an additional requirement to connected?

      • You can buy their hardware and it’s relatively affordable. But alternatively you can build your own with an esp32 which is like $5. Their firmware is available on GitHub. I paid an extra few bucks for a daughter board with screw terminals to make it easier.

        • Just thinking.. 8 eufy alarms ~ $232.

          Konnected 12 zone, $227-349.

Shame, it seems more hassle than it's worth. Might need to dig around to see if there's any esp32 tutorials..

  • does this work with any other home automation hub set up, or only eufy home base?

    • AFAIK only home base - at the very least for the first stage. There’s probably some way to tie it still to ifttt via Android by watching for alerts

  • How does this Wireless Motion Sensor, compare to say, a train, which I could also afford?

    • This one unfortunately does not massage the buttocks

Trying to find the siren to attach to this sensor but doesn't seem to post to aus

On eBay you can get it from eufy America for about $100 , only 105 db though

  • +1

Will this work on homebase 2? Cant seem to find details in eufy site..only says homebase..

  • Do I need the keypad to arm and disarm or can I do it via the app. I currently have the doorbell with the homebase 2, just interested to know how I go about arming and disarming without it being a mission every time.

    • +1

      Either, I have both.

  • Damn, two weeks after my Perks coupon expired - nothing I wanted at the time.

    • I thought you can just make a new account

      • Doesn't it need a new phone number?

        • No idea - i never bothered but there’s heaps of people on here that have multiple accounts according to comments… maybe use a work number or misso’s number lol

        • +1

Yes need a new mobile no to get $10 off

  • Same price at bunnings, works well if you have Onepass (free delivery)

It shows as $10 Special Order Delivery for me with onepass.
Was cheaper delivery with JB hifi

  • Does anyone know when this deal will expire?

What use case are people using this for?

    • +1

Good for indoors where you don't want cameras recording you.

      • +1

That’s what I’m using it for, I don’t have any cameras indoors anymore, and wanted one for letterbox

        • Letterbox is a great idea. Do the snails set it off?

    • +6

I use mine outside pointing across the driveway as a failsafe for my Eufycam. The camera is generally pretty good at picking up animals/people/vehicles but sometimes doesn't recognise something as one of the above in time to record. I set a rule so that tripping this sensor forces a recording to begin, during which it pretty consistently detects an animal/person/vehicle in the recording and therefore saves it.

Note that, by default, this sensor is NOT waterproof. I printed a very very snug outdoor weather shield for it and mounted it on a stake.

    • I would an automation to let me know when there’s some action in my letterbox.
e.g. make a light turn green when I have snailmail.

  • I don't get it, does this item turn on the Eufy camera to record if it detects movement? My Eufy cams already do this so what am I missing.

    • I’m purely using it as a motion sensor to supplement my security setup as an extra layer.

It can also trigger camera to record in events where it doesn’t get tripped. In the example above if no motion sensor , the camera might not trip and record - easily can happen when cameras actual working detection range is like 8 maybe 10m max. The camera that watches over my driveway is too high and too far to trigger when someone is at my letterbox. This could solve the problem but Im still wondering which eufy camera I should use in lieu of the current one in that spot which is actually from imou

      • Sounds like you need a 24/7 like the E330 or maybe the E340 floodlight camera.

I've just finished swapping out all my battery 2C Pros for 24/7 cameras. Also have sensors on every external door plus the motion sensor posted here.

        • Yeah I’m running e220s in 24-7 mode at the other points. Just driveway with the Imou as the Imou had the full pan and tilt mode in a weatherproof format. (Yet to see a too good to say no price on equivalent eufy) - I had decided to split up across eufy and imou intentionally in off chance of app glitch or server outage.

Now neckbeard Oz bargainers can detect when their mum's are bringing them Cheetos and mountain dew down in their basement hideouts.

  • Can we ever get homebase 3 on sale? I’ve been trying to upgrade from homebase 2 and don’t see any deals.

    • Supercheap Auto had Eufy products at 20% off last week.

    • +1

Bunnings has them at around 20% the price of Supercheap

      • I picked up homebase 3 $268 from jbhifi

        • Curious on the main reasons u wanted to upgrade?

          • +1

@T-Quizzle: To save years of footage as out of the blue I needed the footage from a year ago.
My new eufy door camera doesn’t work well with homebase3. I bought few new cameras and homebase doesn’t support them.
Lastly, I wanted to get into the buzz of AI facial recognition to see if it does work at all.

  • Just setup Homebase 3 and found 4 of my Eufy 2C Pro, motion sensor door bell and door lock needs to be manually connected to homebase 3. This is so Fu**ed up!! Not a single way to transfer these devices.
Now I have to get on ladder and what not.
