A good price for a good gan charger.

    165W!

  • Bought this for $129 on Ebay back in March. It’s now OOS

    • -2

      OOS? Out of service?

  • It could be a stretch as you need to buy two, but would this deal be comparable or better?
    https://www.anker.com/au/products/bundle-a2683t41-2?variant=…

    • Suits two use cases: Needing USB A ports or buying one for your partner/spouse/friend.

65W less per unit though (100W total each) for ~$15 cheaper doesn't excite me lol.

I can see these being great in a small business environment (one for back of house, one for front of house).

The Satechi also cannot supply more than 100w per port.
        100W, 100W/60W, 60W/60W/45W or 100W/30W/30W, 60W/45W/30W/30W, up to 165W total.

        The Anker looks better.

        • You are right, I misread the listing. I thought they were listing the combined output for both units.

    • Looks Anker also promotion for a free nano iPhone power bank

My experience with the Saitechi was not great - it would not charge sporadically from some ports. JB returned no problems bit ended up going with the Belkin 108W which has been perfect for me when travelling abroad with dive lights, phones and go pro batteries to charge. No coil whine in my experience.

    • This model?

I've got this one haven't had any issues with it.

I also had a 100w model which would randomly stop fast charging and had to be power cycled. This also seemed to be a commonly reported in reviews.

    • I have the same experience with this charger. I would not buy it again. I own U-green 200W, 100W and 65W and a Belkin 108W. I would buy any of these again. To Satechi's credit their charger is small.

      Pro's
Small size for its large wattage
      Removable cord
      4 USB-C ports
      After-sales support was great

      Con's
Works with some devices but others do not charge
      Not very durable
Bright blue LED when powered on

Technically a good price but I would only buy if you have actual need for it and not in the name of future proofing. Prices will only come down so unless you have a device which can utilise 100W charging I would buy something cheaper.

    • Yes. I have a whole heap of smaller GAN chargers some still in the box and just one device needing 100 w. Dont want to waste money needlessly.

    • You could use it as usb-c laptop charger as well. Most laptops can go up to 100w

      • Some do (MBP and gaming laptops notably) but I the majority of laptops out there are 45 or 65W (my personal laptop is 45W, my two work ones are 65W). What I am trying to disuade people from doing though is thinking "I have six 20W usb-c devices, what if I wanted to charge them all at the same time" and buying this when in reality you don't ever do that.

    • This also does SFC 2.0 so may be worthwhile for faster charging of higher end Samsung devices.

Also note the power distribution - may be useful with multiple devices under 100w.

  • JB refusing to price match, as its only shipped via amazon, not sold by them
