eufy Security S340 Solocam & $50 Bonus e-Gift Card: $318 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ Harvey Norman

380

Was looking for a security cameras and came across this one currently on special down from $398 to $318 and also comes with a $50 bonus gift card which made the deal even sweeter and final price would be $268, I know most of the people don’t want to support Gerry, so you can try your luck with JB Hi-Fi and as them for a lower price as they won’t offer bonus gift card .

Edit- it appears Bing Lee discount is no longer working so the best bet would be Hardly Norman or JB Hi-Fi

Alternatively you can try buying from Bing-Lee who is currently selling it for $319 but after applying the discount 12% the final price comes to $280.72. Happy ozbargaining!!!

Great price - I have one of these and it's excellent (the second zoom lens and auto subject tracking is pretty impressive)

Does it require a home base?

      • can we install more cameras and connect it together in the future for this type?

        • +6

Yes via Homebase 3 I have a Floodlight Pro, S40, L20, Doorbell, C22 Indoor Cam,3x Eufy 3 Non Solar Cams and 4 Solar Panels All work in harmony through Eufy Security app and you can enable cross tracking as well through app Super easy to install 1tb ssd (or even 2 tb 2.5" hdd) into Homebase
Will pick one of these up myself, but through Goodguys who have it for $319, with Shopback 3.5% and BankSA Bonus 2%

          • @glyptothek: shopback does not have any cashback

            • @OfferScooperHQ: Not for Harvey Norman, but definitely for GGuyz 3.5% and BankSA.St George.BOM Bonus 2%

          • @glyptothek: Try getting it further down. Last time TGG even matched gift card value and reduced the price for me

            • @amaneight: I got it to 319 Waiting for GGuyz Shopback 3.5% and GGuyz Shopback Bonus Bank SA 2% to track (and another SB offer as well)

            • @amaneight: Didnt work. Agent on otherside didnt want to hear about it and said bye. Hung up.

I have homebase3 and some cameras, but not this one. Managed to play video on my Alexa Echo Show when someone pressing my video doorbell. I might buy this just use as an additional camera since I am already using this system.

Can you remote mount the solar panel?

        • +5

From the photo in JBHifi link, yes. Make sense letting the unit stay under eaves while the solar panel get some sunlight.

        • yes comes with an extension cable for mounting the solar panel seperately

  • what was the discount code for BingLee please?

I've had standalone Swann WiFi cameras for two years and am in the process of swapping them out for NVRs. IMO, WiFi+battery cameras just don't seem to be the right tool for home surveillance. I think these manufacturers know it too, but still sell them because people are drawn in by their ease of installation.

In my experience they will work OK for a while but given time, will begin to show their warts. They run out of battery and need manual charging if the sun isn't shining, miss important moments because they are always trying to conserve battery in a low-power mode, can be ripped off the wall by thiefs (thereby depriving you of footage if they aren't syncing to the cloud) and have fairly frequent connectivity issues.

If you're just buying a WiFi camera to deter porch pirates, then these will be fine. But research wisely if you are more serious about home surveillance.

If you had the homebase your footage presumably would be stored inside. With just this standalone camera then yes the thief could just steal it and you would lose the footage, although they wouldnt know if it was connected to a homebase also

there is definitely delay in detections etc

    • Do you have any actual experience with this product?

  • wish eufy did some smart lamps or strip light controllers.

  • I got this on the last deal at JB for $289 (mid July 2024) and I LOVE it!

The unit works great and I ended up just running the super long USB-C extension cable to an old iPhone charger inside my garage.

As mentioned before it does not need a home base and the picture quality is fantastic. I also love the baby spotlight it has as it makes a useful night light when I get back home late.

Thanks OP. Ended up buying one along with this deal
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/861858
Will tell wife the game is $8.

  • Anyone know what’s the deal if the device is stolen, is storage encrypted locally so they cannot see older videos? Of course encrypted with a password of my choice.

    • I think the issue is that the unit is stolen. Not much else to do.

  • +1

Thanks OP, grabbed two of these and one of the flood light units. Two of the 3are on back order. They won’t give you the $50 first card until the item comes into stock 👍

  • Beware
Shopback of late (aka past 8 months have SERIOUS problems tracking, and when they do track, BWS Temu etc et all never pay months past their pay date
I don't understand what the issue is! My GGuys purchase Friday 16.8 was noted as clicked and today noted as not tracked
Now look forward to weeks and weeks of inane emails to Shopback…. At least Cashrewards fix things up after 1-2 emails when tracking hasn't worked …..

  • Op how do you get the 12% discount
