Virgin Money Velocity Flyer Card: 60,000 Points with $1,500 Spend Each Month for 2 Months, $129 Flight Voucher, $74 1st Year Fee

1480

Seems a pretty solid deal to me in this day and age of mediocre CC offers. For a reduced first-year Annual Fee of $74, you get 60000 Velocity Points with $1500 min spend per month for the first two months (30K per month), plus a $129 Virgin Australia flight voucher (applied as credit to your Travel Bank).

Minimum Credit Limit is $6000.

Also good for anyone interested in this credit card to read the previous comments from the two previous bonus 30k posts… lots of discussion on the Velocity Flyer that is good to know before applying (and much faster to read than waiting for a reply to a question here).

  • I applied through the velocity website (in July for the extra 30k bonus points), but got auto-rejected. So, I used a template to write to the assessment team to let them reconsider my application manually. They ended up processed and approving my card. But on the 1st card statement, I only see the 30k+ points, but I don't see the 30k velocity bonus points. May I ask whether I need to wait longer to see the 30k velocity bonus point that may come after the 2nd month statement? When do people get this 30k velocity bonus points?

    • "Take out a Velocity Flyer Card, spend $1,500 on your card each month in the first 2 months and you’ll get 30,000 Velocity Points each month, for a total of up to 60,000 Points"

      • Thanks. I was talking about the previous deal in July https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/850751 . I will go to look at that post instead.

You should get additional 30k on the second month. so it will be 30k + 30k at once.

    • Would you happen to have a template for the credit card reassessment?

  • I just got approved which surprised me a bit since I am semi retired at the moment. Now need to think of what to buy for the 1500 a month. maybe some gift cards etc that will be on sale.

    Applied and approved straight away

  • I tried to apply multiple times over the last week or so but the web app had a bug that prevented me from submitting the form. Multiple devices and browsers still had the issue.

Did anyone else run into this?

    • Yeah, I resolved by using mobile internet. There seemed to be something it didn't like about my NBN connection (either on desktop or mobile on multiple browsers).

      • I managed to finally complete the application 2 days ago, I think they just finally fixed the bug in their web app 🤷

  • Just got my first statement. Spent close to $2k on everyday purchases but statement shows only 88 points were earned? Also only received 88 points into my Velocity.

Anyone had the same problem before I call in?

    • It’s because your other payment wasn’t considered eligible spend.

      • Don't think so.

An eligible purchase means any purchase excluding Cash Advances, Balance Transfers, Special Promotions, refunds and chargebacks, purchases of foreign currency and travellers cheques, transactions made in operating a business, and fees and charges such as interest and ATM charges.

Of the $2k spent, none on these.
