So tempted to try these out of curiosity
Got the sony xm5(which i dnt like!) and airpods pro2
    Does it worth trying?

    • Damn what's the cons with the xm5?

      • Maybe personal, but its comfortable at all.

Been using it since I got Pixel 7 day 1 and still running strong.

Noise cancellation is solid 8/10. Sound is like 7.5/10 when compared to my XM4s.

Only issue some people have is the fit isn't great. If you have small earlobes, it'll take time to break into. It was tough for me in the first few months and now, I forget I even wear them at times.

      • When you say sound is a 7.5 compared to the XM4s, what would the XM4s be on that scale? I have XM4s but I wouldn't mind a backup pair of buds and I hear the translate feature is pretty good which will be handy for an upcoming trip to Japan!

        • XM4s like a 9/10 for music!

I went to Japan and relied on Google Lens personally and had fun.

I replaced my xm5 with these and far prefer them. More comfortable and just work more seamlessly with my pixel. Sounds wise I find them similar but I'm not an audiophile. I also prefer the form factor of the case.

150 is a pretty good price for these. I like the case and features (hey google is weirdly handy) and the swipe for volume is nice. the downside is the fit can be awkward. I had to get spinfit tips for them.

    • Which ones fit for you, and how much better is the fit?

I hate that my cheap anker A20i's feel infinitely more secure than these

        • Thanks! I'll have a go.

I actually semi-forced on my cp100's and they don't go in the case as nicely but almost completely address the fit

Thanks for the link, I'll see if they might be better. Do they fit in the case without resistance?

    JB also 150 now

  • These are great, but the new version seems to address the issues I had with them.

Biggest two were call quality and the fact that the "Find My Device" capabilities were not good enough. Whilst AirPods Pro 2 allow you to track precisely where your device is when lost, the Pixel Buds Pro will only show you where they were last connected. So if you lose them in the case, all you'll be able to find out is where they were last connected to your phone. If someone re-pairs them, they are not trackable ever again.

Looks like the new version has fixed this, but looking for more detail. Until then, happy with AirPods Pro instead (on a Pixel phone mind you).

  • I tried them and not very happy that they can eaily fall out, compared to other types/brands of earbuds.

    • Mine very rarely fall out, compared to my Sony WF-1000XM3s. My ears are pathetically tiny

  • How are these compared to the Samsung buds2

Had mine for 18ish months and the left bud is all buzzy and lower volume

  • I bought the last charcoal at Chatswood for $119.
