    This is the V1 right? I've read somewhere here that it is significantly better than the V2 and just wanted to confirm before I pull the trigger

        I purchased it already and will let you guys know once it's delivered

        However, some research has told me that this seems to be the V1 - since BCF sells the V2 as a separate sku

        Additionally, the V2's blue color is Naval Academy and the other blue color is Navy Iris, which tells me they are likely different

      I think it is the V2
      Googling the PLU: M62908002 shows the same Jacket being sold by Rebel Sports which says its V2.

          Going by that comment, the noticeable feature is the zip cord vs a plastic zip - and is looking like it's V2.

          • Shell material not as nice
          • Collar not lined any more. Used to be nice soft material all the way around, but not any longer
          • Zip flap (the part that covers the zip all the way down used to be lined, but not any longer
          • For the vest: Instead of a separate little stuff sack to pack it into, you pack the jacket into its own inner pocket. Not sure for the jacket.
          • Zip pulls used to be premium plastic and looked the part, but are now just some cord knotted to the metal zip.

      Gentle cycle, front loader only. Tumble dryer really helps to fluff up after washing

      I do mine with down cleaner and pick a hot day in Summer. I leave it outside and intermittently shake it to fluff it up. You need to stop it clumping.

    Any difference in warmth compares to the Uber Light down Jacket ?
    Noting that one is 650loft and this one is 600 loft
    But former would be lighter

      Fill weight of the down is the major difference, the fill-type/power would make a minor difference (slightly better quality down in the Uber)

      Uber Hooded (Mens):
      Fill Type 90/10 Duck Down
      Fill Power (cuin) 650
      Fill Weight (g) 88 g (Size M)
      Weight 290 g (Size M)

      Halo Hooded (Mens):
      Fill Type 80/20 Duck Down
      Fill Power (cuin) 600 loft
      Fill Weight (g) 219 g (Size M)
      Weight 560 g (Size M)

      So, 2.5x as much down/feather in the Halo compared to the Uber, but just under 2x as heavy (Medium size, for reference).

    Personally the Uber light jacket works for me in Melbourne. I layer with a thermal if I feel cold. Haven’t needed the thermal this year.
