Typical Google, it will be heavily discounted in no time.
I say wait for reviews before you buy
I reckon you're probably better off getting it from JB Hi-Fi as their $50 gift card is at least useful for more stuff.
Also, $170 extra for LTE is pretty steep, considering it only works on Telstra. Samsung only charges $100 for LTE on the Galaxy Watch7. I pre-ordered a 44mm LTE Watch7 for $427 using a combination of education, 5% store app, and trade-in discounts so almost twice the price for the Watch 3 is a pretty hard sell…

JB $50 is for the watch only right?
Indeed.
the 3 will work on all networks: https://support.google.com/googlepixelwatch/answer/12652073
Oooh thanks! That's good news. Though Optus says:
- Google Pixel Watch 3 is cellular capable, however, the Optus Network is not currently able to support its cellular capabilities.
- This means that Optus Watch Plans and Number Share are not currently compatible with the Google Pixel Watch 3.
- The Google Pixel Watch 3 can connect via Bluetooth to your compatible phone.
- Available to purchase over 12/24/36 months payment term or Outright via web chat.
- A $10/mth credit will be applied automatically to your account until our network capability is ready

Inspires so much confidence… 🙃
lol - looks like I'll be waiting until they sort that out.
I would just get the Galaxy Watch7, however, apparently the GPS accuracy isn't great.
@c00per: I plan on dual wielding my current Galaxy Watch4 Classic and the watch7 during a few workouts to test the GPS. If I find major issues, I should be covered by Australian consumer law for a refund
@id3n: I'm interested to see how you go! DC Rainmaker and a few Reddit posts don't paint a great picture.
I'm now looking at the Apple SE after reading DC Rainmakers' review of it. But honestly, I'd much rather either the Pixel Watch 3 or Galaxy Watch7 from an aesthetics point of view.
@c00per: Last night I wore both my 46mm LTE GW4 Classic and the 44mm LTE GW7 while tracking my bike ride. I had turned off LTE, WIFI, and Bluetooth on both watches so I could be sure it wasn't talking to my phone. They were reasonably agreeable with each other when it came to GPS route. Though the GW7 measured 11.06km and the GW4: 11.02km, despite starting and stopping the workout at the exact same time and place. The GW4 seemed to wander around more than the GW7. The GW7 also acquired a GPS fix way faster than the GW4 between buildings in the city. I didn't time it, but the GW7 did it in around 15sec while the GW4 took like 45sec.
The Watch7 is in blue in the following images.

@id3n: Wow - thanks for the update.
GW7 looks much better than the GW4 and other than when in built up areas, seems to hold up fairly well.
Considering my runs are generally on the beach, I think I'll be happy to go with the GW7 once I see a decent special pop-up.
Once again, thanks and very interesting!!!
Cheers,
Looks like Vodafone just got dropped form that list. Here's an archived version.

The full price for the base models in the US is US349 for 41mm and US399 for 45mm.
For us that means 10%, 11% gouging respectively.
This was the practice in the old days for these types of things but these days prices should be pretty similar.
Does that include tax for the US though?
why?
