15OFFAUGUST

Decent promo from USA Foods, better than the standard 10% off.

Yes, some items are more expensive, but there are also good deals on other items, especially as this stacks with items already on sale!

Shipping can also be expensive, unless you're local like me and can pickup :)

Happy shopping!

I always wait for the free shipping offer, as it ends up being better (if you buy drinks)

No Thanks. Was 20 % in July 2024.

That store is seriously overpriced and the products are close to expiry.

        tell that to @Uncle Roger

Gosh, what is with all the hate??? Seriously bro, did they hurt you?

          • -2

@Uncle Roger: am just middle man for this one. I just forward their message to you.
Why are you so being sensitive ?

  • They're outrageously expensive, but they have peanut butter M&Ms which are the best M&Ms and objectively better than the Reece's Pieces.

I can't be swayed from this opinion.

    • Trader Joes in the US, had something similar to Reece's Pieces but about 1000% better. I couldn't buy them anymore because they were so good.

      • +1

Mr Reese would like a word with both of youse.

i can feel the diabetes and sugar rush from looking at their stock

    • Well you'd be wrong as sugar doesn't cause diabetes. (source: nhs.uk)

      • For anyone curious there's a Diabetes Myth Busters PDF put out by the NHS.

        • +4

          This proves very little.

Maybe technically too much sugar doesn't cause diabetes, but being overweight or being skinny while having too much "Visceral fat" can also cause diabetes type 2, as well as other factors I'm sure.

Too much Visceral fat can be caused by too much refined sugars or trans fats. (So I've read)

So while an Apple might not give you diabetes type 2, USA foods likely can.

The NHS PDF seems quite bad for putting out that type of information without explanation.

          • -1

@samfisher5986: What you say is true. I’m not a medical specialist but from what I’ve read (books, articles) by people who are, is that excess sugar certainly does lead to type 2 diabetes, among other things. T2D is caused by insulin resistance which is usually due to excess sugar intake (glucose).

  • Wow, talk about unhealthy foods

I don't get the fascination with this store - the selection of products is pretty sad compared to a typical US supermarket. You'll find maybe 1% of the products that you would see in a US market.

    • +1

I guess it's because you can find more items than in other stores that stock 0% of the products that you would see in a US market.

      • An Australian supermarket already stocks heaps of US products, ranging from Coke to Gatorade to m&ms and Pringles, etc. Hardly "0%"…

        • +3

Which supermarket do you go to that has such a large range of US made products? Remembering that the ingredients and recipes used in big brands varies between countries. Just compare Australian Milo to Malaysian Milo or Australian Nutella to Italian Nutella and you'd understand the difference.

          • @Clear: Fair point.

            • @Mondorock: However I do agree with the fascination with this store being overblown. 10+ years ago they were one of the few stores that had a massive range of US products. Now their selection is much smaller and you can find convenience stores everywhere stocking this stuff. Even the Reject Shop gets a heap every year.

              • @Clear: I can't believe they have a store in industrial Moorabbin yet don't even have a car park for customers, lol. Not their fault obviously but such a stupid oversight by whoever built that building.

You quite literally have posted a deal about them before?

      • -3

Why were you searching my post history?

        • +1

I actually searched for USAFoods to see how this deal relates to the last 5-6x there has been a discount by them and saw your username there.

        • I'm looking through your post history right now.

Did you know your first post was Far Cry Primal on 24/05/2021?

    • Could it be Australia has higher food standards and not allowing imports that contain GMO foods etc?

  • +3

Sorry USA food has the lowest standards I the world.

    • Totally agree. Same as their ppl.

      • Australian mineral water disagrees. There is no standards it seems.

  • The products are expensive or out of stock, then the shipping is double what you’d expect, then in arrives broken.
They also sell products that compete directly with items in stock colesworth. Why would you buy imported old El Paso taco seasoning from them for twice the price? It’s a strange setup.

  • US. c r a p s. No thanks.

  • +2

Just because this store seems to get a lot of "hate", whenever a deal is posted, here's an example of what I bought, which is what I consider a very good deal. All sold out now tho :)

    Normally $7.99 for 10, reduced to $3.99 for 10, additional 15% off makes it $3.39 for 10.

Expiry is May 2025 as confirmed by live chat, I could have picked up, but would have been a hassle to get all those boxes. $30 Express post doesn't seem unreasonable for everything, and the order was already "picked" this morning.

Not affiliated with them in any way, I just think there are food deals to be had if you look hard enough!

      • +1

Haiyaaaa did you bother to read the last line 🤦🤦🤦

    • Had to order 165 boxes of candy to make shipping worthwhile 😂

      • Nope - again as mentioned above, I normally pickup, however in this case I wasn't interested in the hassle of picking up 265 boxes.

USA Foods is less than 20 mins away from me.

  • I couldnt find stores that sold fruit by the foot in aus. Will wait for those to come back in stock.

    • They are in stock

      • +1

Yeah but the berry tie flavor is the best. I aint buying bulk only for the strawberry flavor to pile up in my pantry.

        • +1

True! It's like with the gushers - I wish they wouldn't make red-only packs :(

  • +2

They've been running a 15% off promo every other month. Problem is unless you live closeby shipping kills every deal when the only things they keep in stock are the same chips, candy and cereal I can now pick up from any of the ten vape shops in my suburb. Every time I go for a pantry item that I need for a recipe it's out of stock.

  • +1

I don't think this needs to be super controversial. This is helpful for someone like me who wants to buy something from them and appreciates a little extra discount. The store can be a bit rubbish at times, some of the prices are insanely high, but there are some deals to be found, and there are some things I miss from home that I can only find here. Thanks for the post.

    • Well said, thank you!

  • I went to the US a month ago and got so surprised with everything so expensive. Stayed there for 7 months in 2014 and it was cheap.

  • The pita chips seem to be out of stock most of the time. Any place else we can get them from?
