[VIC] Luna Park Melbourne Annual Pass $99 (Usually $129) + $1.55 Fee @ Luna Park

110

Based on conversations about the cost of rides here, i'm tempted to get this for my 2 kids, as a means of entertaining them for a year. It includes free entry for an adult (without ride privileges).

Individual cost for one day entry (unlimited rides) is $45 (ages 4-12) and $55 (ages 13+).

The real stinger for a one day visit is adults having to pay $25 entry to supervise (but includes 1 ride). That must have gone up a lot - it was something like $12 when i last visited last year.

I wouldn't go as far as say the rides are amazing, but decent enough. But it's close to home, and i reckon we could probably get 6 or so visits out of it (we are not far from there).

I haven't been there since the introduced an entry fee…

    Entry should be free…

    • Agree with you there. I didn't like it when they introduced a nominal entry fee, but it was stomachable. The thought of having to pay $25 just to sit around and watch my kids makes me feel sick! At least the unlimited rides ticket gets an adult in for free each time.

This is great for the weekends when you don't know what to do, just go to luna park.

On few rides, you can go with kids without ticket.

On few of the rides, kids can't go alone and adult must accompany e.g. the giant swinging thingy at the end of park. For full fun - one adult must have the full pass like kids, else they will miss out on few rides.

  • They should be paying you to go to this outdated park. 😏

+0.5 can't believe people still go to Luna Park. Then again what's the alternative as far as amusement parks?

      • Just close the place down and move it to another location. Somewhere with more land and install 21st century amusement rides.

        • That land must be worth a small fortune

      • Depending on time of year and no issues with roadtrips

        Adventure Park
        Funfields
        Gumbaya World

None of those are in Melbourne, and only 2 out of 3 are closed in winter.

          • @Mondorock: Hence "depending on time of year and no issues with roadtrips" ….

@Lucille Bluth: Your original comment didn't say that, you must have edited it

              • @Mondorock: He probably did.

But he edited before your comment was posted.

And he subsequently had know way of knowing you were relying to his first draft; although he could have made an educated guess.

          And Wobbie's World !!!

  • Cant see anything like this ever being free today. Unfortunately, with the litigious society we now live in, the operators insurance costs must be astronomical.

    • It’s quite reasonable for the operators to be sued if their faulty rides cause injuries to patrons

Absolutely however it doesn't always take a defective piece of equipment. People will trip over their own feet and sue…

  • Luna Park is a major disappointment. Feels like a tourist trap where it gets hyped up with little to no photos of inside the park itself. Not worth it.

    • If the powers at be can upgrade the M.C.G, then they can do the same for Luna Park.

    • Search Google reviews, lots of photos inside the place.

  • I haven't been to Luna Park in 25+ yrs.

Are there many rides there that would be suitable for 5yr & 7yr olds?
