Seems like this is the lowest it's ever been. It should last longer than regular flash drives as it has an SSD. Would have still loved to see a USB C port included for more compatibility.

  • Wonder what sustained writes are, I can only get 250MB/sec before it starts throttling on my Silicon Power DS72. infinitely better than normal usb thumb drives though

My only issue with massive thumb drives is.. if it goes missing thats 1tb of things gone, but if you had large videos to watch etc go nuts

I've been hearing this for 25+ years. I remember when Zip drives got popular, those who jumped the wagon from 1.4mb to 100mb: 'don't put all your eggs in 1 basket!'

      • I had several Zip drives in different machines and all ended up with the "click of death".

    • That's a fair point, maybe grab 2?

Then you can raid them together for an alternative USB Gen 3.2 2x2 😉

Then my only issue is that the data is on 2 drives and not on 4.

That's a potential issue with your approach to put all of your precious data on a single drive without backup. Not an issue with any drive.

My problem with massive thumb drives is laptops these days seem to crowd the ports.

Wonder why they market it like it's a nixie tube, when clearly the device itself is just a plain shell.

Came to the comments to see this sentiment being mentioned. I thought this was a fancy nixie tube style thing somehow and I feel sorely disappointed now :(

      • I pretty much thought the last time I seen it, I was going to buy it because I thought it was a USB nixie tube.

    Bought one hastily, thanks OP.

I had a page of charts that I was trying to find in my page history, I couldn't remember if this tube placed near the top or bottom in iops 😂

I hope this item doesn't turn into another "WD My Passport SSD"(in reference to the third paragraph). Spent over 3hrs travelling in the car just for a chance at getting it cheap as (profanity).

Expecting it be great, due to the reliable brand and costly pricing, but turns out to be garbage.
Which is now being used to hold some random isos which I don't regularly access.

It says its a flash drive but really a m.2 2242 SSD in an enclosure (JMS583). Though teardown shows pretty good build.
