Do you mean Shopback Supermarket gift card?

    • Nope, that would be a better deal.

      • +3

I have the Supermarket gift card offer but not the $200 Woolworths Group Gift Card one…

  • +5

I got $10 cashback with $200 Shopback Supermarket gift card spend.

    @Hiphopopotamus

    • got same which better to me

  • +4

    Fixed. Thanks everyone, I misread.

  • Must we attached our BoM, BSA or StG to be able to see this deal on the app?

Also can this Supermarket GC be used at Asian grocers?

    • +1

Yes, you can use it in Asian grocers and butcher

      • Thanks.

Any idea on the first question?

        • +1

Yes for the first question as well.

          • @AUuser: Great thanks.

            • @ilovefullprice: I think anyone can see the offers. I can see Westpac lounge but don’t have Westpac

              • @WhyAmICommenting: I can’t seem to see any of the BoM, BSA or StG deals. I don’t have any of these cards attached to my account.

I have Westpac card attached and can see the Westpac deals.

                • @ilovefullprice: Fair enough. I canceled Westpac but I guess SB doesn’t know.

                  • @WhyAmICommenting: But you can only view them and not participate in any one.

The extra info you can pull out more than no card is seeing current participants and offer terms.

  • Regular 2% tracked but not the $10. Anyone else the same?

    • +2

Give it ~15 minutes, unless SB challenge tracking is on the fritz again.

      • You're correct, just came through.

    • +1

Mine took 10-15 minutes. Not immediate, but just came through.

  • Could potentially buy these to stack with gift card promos - used this to buy google play gift cards from woolies for 20x edr points last month

    • +1

Tried last week at Coles for the Apple gift card offer and it didn't work - might still work at Woollies

  • +1

While it's not hard to find discounted Coles / Woolies giftcard
Found that this giftcard is very useful in Asian Groceries

    • So these cards can be used at Woolie & Coles, right?

      • yes

      • +2

You can use them in-store at Woolworths and Coles, as long as Woolworths and Coles let you use them as a payment method. If you are wondering what I mean by this, here are two examples:

        1. Woolworths automatically rejects ShopBack Supermarket Visa gift cards if you attempt use them as a payment method for some gift cards (e.g. Vanilla Mastercard, Westfield eftpos, Vanilla Visa).

        2. If a staff member at Coles or Woolworths notices you using a ShopBack Supermarket Visa gift card as a payment method and they want to reject it as a payment method, they can. (I think the only situation this would come up as an issue is if you trying to purchase a gift card.)

        • can use at Coles to buy GCs if staff don't notice at self checklist or staff check out?

        • +1

          thanks for the detailed explanation

        • I find it impossible to check the balance now (https://www.cardbalance.com.au). Any idea why?

          • @Swiftz: I am not sure, as you have linked to the correct websites. I just checked the balance of a digital Activ Visa gift card on that website and had no issues.

Are you inputting the correct card details (i.e. card number starting with 4, expiry date, CVV2) into the website?

            • @WookieMonster: Thanks! I’ve contacted their customer service. It seems someone used my card at Coles in Sydney (I’m in Brisbane) on the same day as my last transaction. How is this even possible? I’ll wait to see what their support says, but I’ll never buy from them again. A warning to others too.

              • +3

@Swiftz: wouldn't surprised me if Shopback issued the same gift card to multiple people

not the first time it has happened

                Wookie doesn't use Shopback

                • @Poor Ass: Was it recently that ShopBack Supermarket gift card has this issue of being used already? Could the card have been hacked? Didn't know about it.

                  • @trixieb: I didn’t know that. I bought it in June. Must have been hacked. Well, lessons learned.

                    • +1

@Swiftz: Hope you receive the refund or a new gift card soon. I bought some more from this offer before seeing your comment.

          • @Swiftz: try to check using 4g network instead

            • @chanhoz: Thanks. I’ve tried it but still not working. Sent them an enquiry. Will see what they say.

    • Where are the discounted Coles/Woolies giftcards? I mainly see them with increased points rather than $/% discount

  • New to this type of gift card, but can you use it to:
    1. buy gift cards at the supermarket (coles)?
    2. fill the tank at the servo (BP)?

  • OK. purchased but new nightmare started. It says Invalid Card when adding to Apple wallet. Then I found this was not new issue

  • Can't find in app. Activations expired?

    • Did you find it? Says 700 of 1000 rewards remaining and 484 participants for me.

      • Found! Thanks.

  • +1

Just went to buy a $200 WISH card at Woolies tonight and card got instantly rejected. Never had this problem before with this card, so Woolies must have plugged that hole :(

Staff member said can’t buy gift card with gift card, even though it clearly shows as Visa logo.

    • +5

That should have been first blocked around September 2023, when Woolworths increased restrictions on the gift cards that can be purchased using some types of Activ Visa gift cards at Woolworths.

If you look at this table, Woolworths has in the past placed more restrictions on the payment methods you can use to purchase some gift cards (e.g. gift cards issued by Woolworths Group, eBay gift cards, Vanilla Mastercard gift cards) when compared with other gift cards (e.g. Apple gift cards, Ultimate gift cards, Super Adventure gift cards). The ShopBack Supermarket Visa gift card is essentially a specially-branded Activ Visa gift card, which is why the ShopBack Supermarket Visa gift cards is caught up in the same restrictions that Woolworths enforces on Activ Visa gift cards.

  • Noob question - from all the comments I read above, I understand that ShopBack Supermarket Visa Gift Card can be used directly at Woolies and Coles. So, why would someone wants to buy a Coles or Woolies Gift card using this gift card?

    • +2

to stack the discount i believe

    • Easy just to keep all your gift cards in the everyday rewards app

  • +1

Now expires on 14 Aug 11:59PM and has around 438 rewards left at the timing of posting.

  • Can this card be used at woolworths and coles? Thank you.

    • yes, some even use it to purchase giftcards in coles (but woolworths seems put a ban on it now for giftcard purchase)

      • +1

At woolworths, you can use this to buy MCC-limited gift cards like restaurant choice but not normal prepaid visa/mastercard like vanila cards.

  • Can I use this at ALDI?

    • +1

Yes, however the card processing fee applies as with all Visa cards.
