I understand this is replacing the Luxury Transfer Service on the Citi Prestige card. Got an email a few months ago

Edit: I booked the Transfer Service through Citi before it ended last month for a trip in November, yet I’m seeing the Uber Premier cashback offer in My Offers too. Maybe if you’d already booked the transfer service before it ended, you can redeem both this year?

Yes you can do both, as long as you booked it before the changeover.

      • You can't do both.. it seems like they got rid of it

I called them up to check and was advised as of 1 August 2024 they changed it to the $100 minimum spend for $100 cashback rather than the luxury airport transfer

Good for people that take long trips $100+, but I'm sure they had data showing that most people do short trips under $100 so won't be eligible for the cashback

Good thing is that can be used anytime and not just from the airport, but very limited use cases for this

You can do both and I've done both.

Luxury transfer in June, showed up in the credit card as $30 due to extra car seats billed to the transport company in Sydney, Hughes.

          And used Uber above $100.

        • +3

I think you get both if you booked your Hughes luxury transfer before 1 August.

My understanding is you can get both. The bit I struggle with is how to spend $100 in one trip.

    • I just checked and an Uber Premier trip from North Sydney area to Sydney International is about $100. So works well for those in middle/outer burbs

  • "Valid for Citibank Card Holders in Australia"

    I believe only Citi Prestige?

  • Can you add a stop (say returning to the city) to get it over the total? Cant imagine the driver minding..

    • If you don't actually take the route, won't the system automatically charge less?

      • Yes but assuming that the driver is happy to drive, it it should work?

        • It should yes, you're on for the ride after all. You'll just be wasting a bit of time.

  • Can be used outside Aus?

    • +1

Only Australia. The T&C says that

      • Looks like not just an airport ride at least

        • Yes. You can book any destinations, but make sure it exceeds $100

Can anyone confirm if this only works on Uber Premier ? Or can Uber Max works as well?

    • +1

Think works for any redo long as over &100

  • Oh this is great! Hughes prices were a rort and service was pretty el crapo.

    • Hughes was good.

Driver waits at airport with your name so quick exit. Dont need walk extra far like you do to catch Uber.

Can also book to and from trip if meeting the requirements rather than single uber trip.

Always got a decent car with a proper limo professional driver that drives very smoothly yet fast.

  • How I imagine the conversation is going to go down when my Uber Premier is <$5 below the $100 threshold:

Uber Driver - "The map's asking me to circle this block twice, happy for me to skip?"
Me: Please no, it's there to reach a certain spend threshold
    after the ride
Uber Driver - "Man that guy was nuts"

    • pretty tame conversation if that's how it goes down

The monthly spend $40 on uber ride get $10 cash back used to work on in-app gift card purchases, not sure if this does?

    • Did you try this workaround and did it work?

Anyone brave enough to have tried it? Good chance Citi doesn’t have a way to differentiate these transactions. Hmm

      • Worst case, you end up with $40 credit.
Best case, you end up with $40 credit that cost you $30.

  • I didnt see the offer on uber but do i still get the cashback if im using citi prestige to book?

    • +1

You should see it under Offers tab -> Travel section "Uber Premier"

  • Not targeted, it's for all Prestige cardholders: https://www1.citibank.com.au/credit-cards/benefits/prestige .

  • Does anyone know if I can request child seat/capsule for Uber Premier rides?
